Be ready to walk in circles. -admissions requires official transcripts but NEVER notifies you that they have been received and you can't get in contact to confirm -they require approval for outside credits but you will wait months before getting a counseling appointment for review of transcripts -I had to make multiple appointments for counselors mistakes and misinformation to which they are not apologetic for. -counselors are NOT trained and waste your time to review credits after you've waiting a month just to be able to make an appointment and then another 2 weeks because the first counselor didn't submit credits correct(I was given 3 separate answers-yes all are transferable, no only a couple, then finally, yes more than a couple but not all credits are transferable which ultimately brought creditably of school and counselors into question) I was told the school doesn't have proper funding so they do their best to give you correct credits but ultimately felt like I was being scammed into taking more credits so they could make money. I was also recommended to just sign up for classes even if they weren't the right ones because it's better to be in a class while I wait on credit approval. -they make you pay for parking but don't enforce rules -campus is disgusting especially AD building and restrooms -homeless camp there and do drugs and doesn't feel safe

Throughout nursing school, I struggled a lot with life situations etc happening but throughout true genuine non AI-generated but human to human interactions with all the lovely patients , I was able to get through it all, like I tell everyone I was not treating the patients it was a true "the patients were treating me" moment . I think through hitting that rock bottom I was truly able to see my love for health care and the I don't care what others say, all the staff and I mean even the ones that I struggled with , helped me with my growth so I want to thank everyone single staff there. I had high hopes. My daughter finished the program end of December 2023. The group was promised or…read moremade to believe that they would be taking their state exams in December 9, but sadly only 1 of them was able to get an authorization from the state. The next promise date is February 6, 2024. The staff and office in Wilshire Blvd have been radio silent and not in communication with these prospective CNAs who are left in limbo not knowing if they will be able to test in February. Calls are left unanswered (office and staff). People have plans and this waiting game looks like there is no end in sight. Well, we're looking at other avenues, should she just apply on her own,finger printing etc be damned hahaha. Any ideas? I am still hoping she hears something from someone soon. At least a word???!!!!! Of news/update???? These students have resorted to giving each other updates, "did you hear anything" "any response/any mail".. the silence is so astounding.

My friend Deb V. teaches at the Emerson College campus in Hollywood, and she invited me to speak to…read moreher students and see the cool building, designed by architect Thom Mayne. I live like ten minutes away and was excited for the chance to hang out and see the campus. I guess this branch of Emerson is funded by some very wealthy alumni in entertainment, and there's a definite focus on the industry. Emerson students spend semesters in Los Angeles, staying in the dorms and interning at various sites around town. I enjoyed meeting my friend's students and they seemed pretty happy with their experience of the school. The building was quite remarkable, a bold piece of architecture that nods to Frank Gehry. Deb showed me around and I was thoroughly impressed. I drive past the place all the time and am glad I got to see inside. I'll bet it's a fun place to spend a semester.
