We went through a mock interview where she asked me questions that were very similar to what Cedars Sinai would ask. One thing she immediately noticed was that I had a tendency to ramble. She helped me organize my thoughts so my answers were concise while still covering the important points. She also reminded me not to memorize responses because they can come across as robotic, which was advice that made a big difference during the actual interview. I especially struggled with questions like "Why Cedars Sinai?" and "Why orthopedics?" Rebeka helped me understand how to answer them in a genuine way. Instead of giving a generic response, she encouraged me to talk about Cedars Sinai's values and reputation. She also helped me connect my interest in orthopedics to my passion for caring for the geriatric population, which is something I genuinely enjoy and is very common in orthopedic nursing. Thanks to her preparation and encouragement, I was able to receive an offer from Cedars Sinai as a new graduate RN. Ironically, what finally pushed me to take the leap was watching a coworker graduate from West Coast University. Did she vent about the program being stressful? Absolutely. Did she ever have a bad thing to say about the professors or staff? Not once. That spoke volumes. Nursing school isn't supposed to be easy. Caring for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives isn't easy, so why should the preparation be? Hearing about the challenges didn't discourage me, it reassured me that the program was doing exactly what it was meant to do. So, after attending an information session for the second time in two years, I finally decided to stop flirting with the idea of nursing school and commit. What stood out to me immediately was the transparency! From day one, everything was laid out clearly: what was required for admission, what resources were available, and what steps needed to be taken to succeed. There were no surprises, no sugarcoating, just straightforward guidance and support. Then began the adventure of getting all my "stuff" together. I would be remiss if I didn't give a special shout-out to David Gallardo, who is low-key one of the biggest reasons my application was completed at all. During the application process, I was navigating some personal challenges while helping care for my mother. Throughout it all, David remained patient, encouraging, and consistently supportive. More importantly, he always started our conversations by asking how I was doing, not just where I was in the application process. That may seem like a small thing, but it meant a lot. His kindness and reassurance gave me confidence when mine was running low. If first impressions truly matter, David was the perfect first impression of West Coast University. Now, as I prepare to begin this journey, I won't pretend I'm not nervous. I have moments where I wonder whether I have what it takes. But I also know that West Coast University has already shown me that support, resources, and dedicated advisors are available every step of the way. At that point, the responsibility shifts to me to use those resources and keep moving forward. So here I am, equal parts anxious and determined, looking forward to the long study sessions, sleepless nights, and study-group marathons. Two years from now, I plan to walk across that stage knowing that earning my degree wasn't easy, but it was worth it. And when that day comes, I'll happily become an unofficial ambassador for West Coast University, completely pro bono lol. If I can help encourage even one person who has been sitting on the fence the way I did for 6-7 years, wondering whether they're capable or whether the timing is ever going to be right, then I'll gladly share my experience. The front desk peeps are very kind, patient and always willing to help with and through out the process. The instructor Ms. Pearl is very knowledgeable,compassionate and patient, taking the time to make sure everyone feels comfortable with hands-on tasks like vital signs and patient transfers. Dr. Ina played a huge role in my success throughout Terms 3 and 4. She challenged us to do our best, encouraged us to stay disciplined, and provided countless resources to help us succeed. Her passion for teaching is truly inspiring--you can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and that enthusiasm motivates her students every day. A special thank you as well to Miss Karla for being such a supportive, approachable, and genuinely fun instructor. She created a positive learning environment that made even the most challenging days more manageable. One area where I believe ACC could improve is the clinical rotation assignment process. Students are not given the opportunity to choose their clinical sites, and commute times are often not taken into consideration. For example, some students who live in Pasadena were assigned to Santa Monica, while students who live near Santa Monica are assigned to Pasadena. Even got threatened to be sent to San Gabriel the next time I complained. While I understand that clinical placements depend on site availability and program requirements, a more thoughtful approach that considers students' commuting distances and personal circumstances would help reduce stress and improve the overall learning experience. Overall, I am grateful for the education, support, and experiences I gained throughout the program. Thank you to all the instructors who invested their time, knowledge, and energy into helping us become future nurses.

I received my ATT (approval to test) within one week from my last day. I had the option to test immediately but I had applied to test with accommodations so with limited centers for accommodations I tested 1 month out in August and passed the first time. I worked closely with our Careers Center and the director Dr. Willinger to create an amazing resume right after receiving my license, began applying to jobs immediately and received an invitation to interview within one week for DaVita. Two weeks later I received an invitation to interview for an ER position close to home which was my first choice to build a strong foundation as a new nurse. I know there are a lot of negative comments about this school on here. I have heard and watched a lot of sad and crazy experiences that my friends and other peers endure with staff and faculty throughout my 3.5 years there. I have experienced questionable professors and staff who are obviously there for the paycheck. On the other end, I have met 2x as many INCREDIBLE staff and faculty throughout my time at Stanbridge. People need to understand that this is still a relatively new program and it's still working through a lot of adjustments both within the programs itself, how they handle students, and how they handle staff. But with being new comes an advantage to incoming students because with the help of the right people and resources, there is flexibility and grace that comes with a class or a term that possibly end in a fluke (I.e. bad professors, missing classes due to extreme circumstances, etc.). I understand this is not everyone's experience, but I HAVE seen multiple times where the school does work with students to properly evaluate their knowledge of a subject a second time if there is overwhelming evidence showing it was not properly done the first time. It also is dependent on how an issue is communicated as well. Any nursing program out there is hard and rigorous. Stanbridge is not unique to this. I can confidently say that I went in to the NCLEX feeling so prepared because of how this school preps you. If you follow testing strategies and work closely with the coaches at the end of the program YOU. WILL. PASS. From Term 1 Stanbridge works with students not just on building testing stamina but building testing stamina while sleep deprived. It's not officially an actual thing. They always told us to be well rested and to eat before but, the reality of any nursing program is adequate sleep is simply not possible. You just have to get through each term and pass. Keep moving even if you have a set back, do your best to not stop. I have no idea how many times I thought to myself that I will more than likely not remember anything after the program and I questioned if I really actually learned anything. I have been an ER nurse for almost 7 months now. Every moment of feeling competent, confident, and proud to be a nurse I owe to Stanbridge. While most of my peers in my new grad program have forgotten a lot of basics and high priorities, I am one of the few who still remembers and I am so thankful. I had zero medical background coming into the program. My science gpa at a 3.5 was not competitive enough for CCs, UCs, or CSUs to see me as a priority candidate for their RN program. Stanbridge was the first school to take a chance on me and invest in me. Before Stanbridge I was never the student who was picked for scholarships, awards, or special internships. The last 2 years at Stanbridge I received scholarships every term, was selected for Student Hospital Fellowship, received the Presidential Service Award, and ended the program with the Thomas Fuentes Service Award. This was all because ONE staff member encouraged me to apply each time an opportunity was sent out. The Stanbridge experience is truly what YOU choose to make it. I have met some amazing people with incredible hearts at this school. I loved that I don't need to hike or walk a mile to get to class. I loved that I only needed to be on the ground once or twice a week. Nursing school was THE hardest thing I have ever done. I gave up my entire life for 3 years just to eat, live, breathe, and sleep nursing. You can ensure your success in this program if you want this more than anything else. There will be times where you have to pick school over your family and it sucks. But being on the other side now, it is SO worth it and now I have the rest of my life. My husband is currently in the program now and is in term 4 at the OC campus. He hasn't been in school full time in over 10 years and he is doing amazing. I'm proud to be a nurse and I'm proud to be a Stanbridge Alum. The cost for tuition is pretty steep. If you have a good tribe behind you and can afford to not work during the program, I highly recommend it!

This LAC program is a RARE find and I've highly recommended this program to many people. Please do not get discouraged about applying to this school, we may lack some amenities, but I wanted to set the record straight because false information is not information. 1. We have a student counselor. They are introduced to you at NEW Student Orientation 2. If you need ADA accommodations, please see the office of education for additional information. 3. We have multiple computer rooms and study rooms for students to sign up for. If you need help looking for one, please visit the library or ask the front office for assistance. 4. There are 2 metro lines- 78 and 605. Infront and across the street from the school 5. In terms of safety- this is a CLOSED campus with badge access. Students can park at a free and guarded parking lot structure across the street from campus with badge access. 6. The real world average nurse-to-patient ratio is generally recommended to be one nurse for every four patients but can depend on departments; school is weaning you into real world practice. 7. You can log the documents that you turn in at the front office in a log, if that gives you peace of mind about what youv'e turned in. Please note if office is requesting the same documents various times throughout the year, other internal department within LA county are asking for it so they can provide students with clearance to attend to patients. 8. Lost and found is in front office. 9. This is a full-time course and can be tough; you can do difficult things. Believe in yourself. 10. For anything you sign we retain it in the student or class file- feel free to ask for a copy or come into the office to see it. As an Angelino, I'm hopeful for the future students coming out of this program. I know that with OPEN communication we can improve this program for current and future students. When we look back at the places we've been, I want us all be able to say we left it a little better.
