Found this barbershop after having breakfast with my son next door. Did a walk in for $30, pleasantly surprised with the amount of chairs and how clean it was inside. This location is ideal for moms with boys because there's a Michoacana next door so you can get a sweet treat or snack while your older kids get cut. Don't be leaving your toddlers unsupervised weirdos lol. My son got his cut by Maximiliano aka Max and he did a really good job blending. I'm glad I found a shop who isn't overcharging. read more

Yes, some people go to whatever barber and pay $15-$20 for whatever but I have middle school kids who are looking for more. After a few years of trying to find a stable place, I took my son here because his friend suggested it. After all, not many places have barbers who can do designs, etc. I'm glad we came here because we've finally found the one place my boys want to come back to. Why? They are talented barbers who take their time to get my son's hair looking right. Whatever my son has brought in via a photo and fever dream, the barber has got given him. I had my haircut here some while back. First off, let me just say the service was awful. The barbers did everything possible to not notice you when you walk into the door.l. Even with an appointment you could wait upwards of half an hour to get a haircut. Second, my haircut was awful to say the least. I was growing out my hair for around 9 months at the time, and after specifically asking only for half an inch off the front, my barber proceeds to cut off four. Not to mention, my right side was about twice the length of the left and the back was so horrendous with half the strands twice as long as the others making it look real stringy. My barber looked severely disinterested, often pausing to go into the back to talk with the other barbers. The worst part of it is, my barber tried to hide how bad he fucked me up by tussling my hair so it looked pretty even and not really showing me the back. I was also pretty sure he just didn't want to fucking finish my cut so he could vape outside with the other barbers during their break or whatever. I've never had to manually cut my own hair because of how bad my barber got the lengths wrong. Some barber here, or at least mine, think it's alright to fuck people up if it gets them their overpriced 35 bucks for a damn haircut. It's been around a year since I've had a haircut i've been happy with, and safe to say I won't be coming back here anymore. read more

So we finally decided to get a haircut for my boy, and thought that amigos would be the place to find a great barber. but I guess it's just another haircutting place like any other well not like any other cuz others charge 5 to 10 dollars and get something decent, Amigos charged 20 plus tip . They take their time cutting your hair to leave it just right except for when they don't. Amigos takes your money and take your time like nothing no care what so ever if you like it or not. 2 hrs waiting for my son and they sent him out looking like a ducks butt on his head I sent him to get it fixed but I guess the barber jut told him to wait even longer to get it fixed. I just don't think that we spent our hard earned money for a hair cut and just get whatever they want to do for you. I've been here twice. BOTH times they messed up my hair. First time I understood their mistake but i recently went there and they completely fucked the top of my hair. I dont remember who exactly cut my hair but a side note every single guy working there is lazy as fuck. Whenever a walk-in comes in they automatically act busy or say that they can't take them for no reason. These barbers honestly need an actual job if they keep fucking people over in my honest opinion. I told the guy not once not twice but three times to not cut to much off the top because they always messed it up but he did so anyway. Cool barbershop that opened around my oLd neighborhood. They used to be located hidden in a corner of the shopping center, but no longer. This new spot is slightly smaller, but fitting. I've only gotten my hair cut by two different barbers and both did an excellent job. Out of the two I stuck with Marcos, a young looking man. Don't be fooled by his looks of inexperience, the kid can maneuver those clippers. He's detailed, takes his time, doesn't get distracted with his phone and punctual with appointments. I needed a haircut last minute and I decided to choose a place from Yelp and this place caught my attention, mainly because of how close it was to where I was staying. I had called other barbershops to try and get an appointment but I was told by other places that they weren't accepting appointments anymore for the day (Saturday), and it was the same with this place so I decided to walk in. I ended up waiting almost three hours to get seen by someone since most people coming in had appointments, which I assume they had made the day before, so I understand the long wait. Also, one of the barbers at the front of the store kept checking in on the people waiting and letting them know where they were at in line and thanked me for waiting so long on my way out, which I appreciated. I eventually was seen by the guy next to him, Adrian (?) I believe his name was. Overall, probably one of the cleaner haircuts I've received from a barbershop. He was thorough about asking how I wanted it and how I style it normally and he cut it pretty well. The fade was definitely on point. Cool guy, good conversation, and great barber. Would definitely come back if I needed a cut and I was in the Tustin/Santa Ana area. I would absolutely recommend making an appointment in advance to avoid the long wait. I kept coming because my barber did a pretty good job and was a nice guy. But They are EXTREMELY UNORGANIZED!!! If you make an appointment at 4PM, don't expect to be seated until 4:45. If you make any appointment at 5PM, don't expect to be seated until 6PM.... They never failed to make me wait an extra 40 min for an appointment for had scheduled 7 days ahead of time.... Some useful info: Today, February 20th 2021, there are 591 people hospitalized in OC, there were 391 new positive COVID19 cases, and 44 people have reportedly died of COVID19 JUST TODAY. Keep that info in the back of your mind, if you will. I came here for the first-time last year and had an above average experience. I had been getting home-cuts through COVID and today I decided to finally get a professional haircut; I went back to Amigos to find out that I should have gone elsewhere. There were three barbers in the shop. One had a mask under his nose, the other under his upper lip (really? who does that?), and an elder barber who was eating a paleta. While the customers waiting were wearing a mask, none of the customers getting a haircut were wearing one. I had an appointment with a barber named Junior and was told that Junior would be right out, as he was in the break room. Junior came out of the breakroom without a mask and signaled for me to get in the chair. When I asked him if he could put on a mask, and explained that I had a medical condition, Junior said, "if you're scared, stay home homie, stop spreading fear." I asked "yeah?" thinking he was joking, but he said "yeah". Not being in the mood to school deliberately ignorant people, I walked out in disbelief. However, I am writing this review so people who expect sanitary, and professional service from a barbershop can make an informed decision, before wasting their time and energy like I did. This is not spreading fear, it's spreading information. Do with it what you will. Update. Today on Feb. 22, 2021 I was contacted by Hugo, owner of Amigos Barbershop. Hugo apologized on behalf of his employee, and seemed very personable, understading and sincere in his apology; he even attempted to rectify the issue personally, and gave me his number. I've seen how difficult it is to keep a business afloat these days and through this pandemic. Hugo's gesture goes a long way in my book, and I'm a believer in second chances, perhaps I will go back for a haircut once this COVID 19 craze calms down a bit. read more

I just want to start off by saying that the older gentleman that cut my son's hair did a great job & we appreciate him taking the time to cut his hair & consult us on every step. Now for the unprofessional assholes, we came in Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m & there was only one customer getting his hair cut. Not one single barber except for a guy in a blue shirt that walked out from the back greeted us. They looked at us and then stayed glued to their phones. When the guy in the blue shirt asked the one in the far back right corner he said he had an appointment with another client. We were there about 40 mins & the whole 40 mins he did nothing but be on his phone. They would constantly be walking in & out of the shop. We felt so uncomfortable & un-welcomed, my son's barber was unavailable for a bit so we decided to give the shop a chance since my cousins came here before. If I could give this place negative stars I would give it negative 5 stars . If you're a mom bringing your kids to get a haircut I highly recommend that you don't ever come to this shop. We were in town looking for a shop to go to for the weekend and we decided to come here. Biggest mistake ever...1. When you walk in no one greets you, everyone is just laying around glued to their phones. They look lazy and just talk amongst themselves. They will also make you feel uncomfortable as I caught them checking out other women that pass by and talking about them. I asked if they had a bathroom to use and they pointed me to the back and when I went back there it smelled like nothing but weed. The worst part of when I looked at the toilet I couldn't even use it. There was pee and hair all over it as if all the ppl that work there don't know how to clean after themselves. Also there was no toilet paper, no hand soap , no paper towels to even wash your hands. This barbershop is the most DISGUSTING shop I've ever had to bring my kids to. NEVER coming there again.
