I have been dying my hair red for the last twenty years (sometimes myself when broke) and the last nine years doing red hombre. I went to four different hairstylist in Northern Cali before I moved and right after I moved to Orange County before I met Kiara. NO ONE has honestly been able to replicate the master work of Kiki G. We are Floyd's clients for so many years. We tried San Diego, LA and a few locations in OC. My dad needed a haircut and I always go with him to explaining because he doesn't speak English, and when we introduced ourselves to our stylist he looked sooooo uncomfortable that my dad didn't speak English, so he tried to bring another stylist that had another client already and offered to switch! Then when I went to the manager (who wasn't very nice either) to tell her that maybe he didn't want to take my dad, that we didn't mind being with someone else that feel comfortable with us, she just came directly with the stylist asking if HE was ok! Without having any consideration to us, since we weren't upset, we said that if it was ok with him, we would continue the service. My dad is an 83 year old senior and he just needed me to explain certain things like length and style. I don't understand what was awkward about it or if we did something to made him feel uncomfortable... we felt very stressed, unwelcome and uncomfortable. He actually did a good job with the haircut, my dad gave him a good tip, but we left feeling treated with racism and had a very bad experience. I don't think I will ever come back. It gives me such sadness to be treated with racism. We were not disrespectful or rude to anyone at all. Never understood the conflict and it made us feel terrible. My mom even took photos and video from were she was sitting waiting for us, without knowing what was going on but seeing the upset face the stylist had. So sad. read more

First of all I wanna say I appreciate this place working with my timing and getting me in because I had originally scheduled at the wrong location. They did not have to do that. Now that I have addressed that, I was 5 min late to my 3 o clock appt. My son needed a haircut, I mentioned to the hairdresser he has an audition tomorrow. Everything of the haircut is lovely but at the very end she messed it all up. I went and told her if she recommended a line up and she suggested not too much of a hard edge line up since he's a kid and I agreed, so we wanted a natural line up. On my son's left side, she completely shaved off the "natural look of it" and left the other side unshaved. Looks unnatural but I will always hype up my son in the chair and let him know he looks handsome. I'm so tired of people rushing to get more $. I could've just took him with no haircut and he would've looked better. She over did it, the haircut was going so good. I don't understand how you mess up at the end. She knows exactly what these kids like these days and afterwards always gives them tips on how to keep and style their hairstyle to give them the look they want. I love the fact my kids really really enjoy how she talks to them like they are peers on their level to keep them feel like their words and opinions matter. Shane did a wonderful job! This is the best haircut I've received in a long time. I tend to wait several months between cuts, so I usually get a lot chopped off at once. The last few cuts I've had, my hair has been the right length, but very flat and lacking in volume afterward. It usually takes a few weeks before fluffing back up. I'm not sure what Shane did differently, but my hair was fluffy again right away! Guy's got talent. When I'm ready to come back, I hope he's still here! read more

Overall, a very good first visit. My barber listened to my concerns and did a fabulous job of translating that into a cut that I am very happy with. She was pleasant, professional and I could tell that she knew her profession well. I really appreciated the online appointment system which allows selection of the date, time, services and barber. My reservation added the shampoo, but I think the barber may have forgot that was on the reservation. The included shoulder massage was not done, either. I booked an appointment for a men's cut with Matt H (first time with him). I told him I wanted short on the sides and longer on top about mid forehead. He asked how I style the top of my hair and I said down. He proceeded to cut my hair short on sides and on top - well above the middle of my forehead. He also cut the top of my hair to be styled to the side instead of down like I asked. If I try styling it down it looks really bad. He never asked what I wanted for the sideburns or the back of the neck. The cut took about 10 minutes. It was obvious that he was rushing through it trying to be done as soon as possible. Every year they increase the prices, but not the quality. The cut cost $41 not including the tip. I would not recommend this place. It's a hit or a miss when it comes to the quality and service - it's better to go somewhere where you know you'll get a decent cut. Note: When he was spraying my hair with the water bottle he didn't block off my face with his hand. So, he was pretty much spraying me directly in the face with the water bottle. If you want a good haircut and to be treated somewhat decently, go to someone else. read more

I came here with my brother and got a haircut from Matt. The directions of the haircut were to make it shorter, but leave a little more on the sides. The first initial visit we had exceeded our expectations and established the expectation of what this salon could deliver. Today was his second time here and the experience was disappointing, as the staff were less friendly and inviting. We had booked the appointment online and used a $10 off promo code. At the end of the service, we were charged full price. The service itself didn't even seem up to standard to what a normal service should entail. For the price, it felt like an inadequate service, as it was strictly a dry cut and had no styling or hair washing. It ended up being super short. I have been a customer for 6 months and Cynthia has been my stylist, yesterday I received the worst $50 haircut. When you are sitting in that chair a conversation is of the norm, whether or not the stylist likes what she hears, as a professional she should deliver the same integrity as the other past visits. In the middle of my service she decided to rush me out and DID NOT PERFORM THE OTHER FINE TUNING TRIMS AND SHAVES that she used to do. When I got home the lines were terrible and I have a lot of uneven short hair standing up where the fade meets the long hair. She's a nice person but definitely not a professional with the results of this rushed out service. Warning if you feel like you were rushed out of your service here cause they didn't perform the fine tuning trims here, they probably are. Floyds lost a loyal customer who paid $50 at every service and routinely came in every 2 weeks. Do not have Cynthia cut your hair she's not a professional. Took my son yesterday. He wanted it long on top and faded down. Fastest haircut ever that didn't deliver. He might have been in the seat maybe 15 mins total. Not faded at all, just cleaned it up. I added a shampoo when I booked the apt. My son had to ask the stylist for a shampoo. It was a 30-second rinse. It just seemed like he's 10, who cares if it's nice. I would have asked for it to be faded, like I asked, when he came to me at the end, but the stylist immediately took back her next customer. Floyd's used to be a great place to get a haircut at a place with a cool vibe, but has really gone down hill in the last 6 months. Between the waits when you have an appointment, stylist not even being at work when you have an appointment, inconsistency of services (sometimes you get a neck shave, sometimes you get a hot towel, others you get none) to mediocre, rushed cuts, something has happened. What is the final straw for me is the raising of the prices. It's now as expensive as some of the fancier places. Sadly, I think it's time for me to find a new place until there are some major changes here. read more

My son and I have been coming to our local Floyd's Barbershop for haircuts, and line ups for the past few years since we've been in Tustin. It conveniently located off Newport in between Old Irvine and La Colina by the Analog record store. Since my son graduated from Sharkeez kids cuts down the street, he enjoys a more professional cut and barbershop experience that Dad is used to. Hack = they still have lollipops up front too, he even snagged one for his little sister. We usually walk right in but on the weekends we'd suggest getting an appointment. Our most recent barber, Gloria did a great job for us a few days before picture day at his school. We'll keep coming back here for the open air ambiance, great music, friendly staff, inexpensive full service menu, and barbers like Gloria who make coming to Floyd's, fun and personable for us both. Floyds is just re-branded Fantastic Sam's. You know the place.... the place that hires temp/indie contractors with little if ANY quality or competence checks before your head is offered up to them. I just got back from what will be my last trip to the Tustin location. Simple trim and blend cut...but I ended up with what looked like a bowl of soup on my head. I showed her pictures of when I modeled for Redken and still, a few more clips and spins then hands me the mirror again. Just know that u are gambling with your hair at any Floyd's unless u have a dedicated stylist. Oh and by the way, it nearly cost me $50 for some reason today when it was always $25 before. Scheduled an appointment for 11:20 today ,My stylist wasn't available so they tried to push my appointment to 12:00 with someone else ,when I agreed to this one time previously my hair came out all wrong .They have some good people that cut hair here ,the operations is what needs some help ,I have been pushed back or rescheduled a total of 3 times and today would have been 4th ,I never leave negative reviews But I manage 35 Employees and If I handled customers with the same cavalier approach at rescheduling that this Tustin branch has I definitely wouldn't be a Manager .$50 dollars for a haircut is already crazy including tip you are walking out with a $70-80 cut the Customer service is just not there for that price . read more

The next day I had called them to let them know i was on my way and they confirmed it over the phone. I then show up to Floyd's and am told that I had an appointment not for that day but for the next day. They made no apologies for the mistake, and simply said "well I wasn't working yesterday". If you're going to get a haircut make absolutely sure the person you talk to confirms the date of your appointment, because they will not give you any other courtesy after that phone call.
