Imho this is the most authentic Mexican place in town. We just bought a hotel in town and need a short list of places to eat at. With art and beverages brought by the owner from Mexico and solid food I think we will be back. We're visiting form out of town and stopped in at Amigos on our first night in Eureka Springs. We sat on the patio because the main restaurant was full and it was nice out. The set up was great. Chips, salsa, and guacamole were all excellent. I got a Conoronarita which was good but I wish I would have just stuck with a classic margarita on the rocks. My wife got the fajitas. Tortillas were really fresh and the set up was nice. The chicken was a little bland but all in all not bad! I got the chicken fajita salad. I could have used more lettuce but the peppers and onions were really good. All in all the main dishes were good and everything was reasonably priced. Our server was very kind and attentive. This is decent restaurant on the Eureka Springs downtown strip. The wait was around 20 minutes the food was ok. They offer the standard chips and salsa when you sit down. Located on the lower Strip across from the bank sits a decent place in a historical building. All of your Mexican favorites and a few different. I ordered the Chimi that has the Fajita meat in it and it was pretty good, It was crispy and had a great flavor and was covered in queso. We sat on the patio and we enjoyed the surroundings but we were limited on the visits by the staff. I would of given a 5 star if it was not for that. read more

Food was pretty good, but honestly just mediocre compared to most of the Mexican restaurants I've eaten at. The queso is very lacking and mostly flavorless. The salsa has pretty good heat but something is just a little off on flavor. The taco dinner was solid, but just isn't anything to write home about. With all the other great options in Eureka, I'd have to say I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're just craving Mexican above anything else. Definitely a great Mexican restaurant. Our server, Hector, get a 10/10 for his service and for dealing with a bachelorette party. The cheese dip could have used more flavor but the guacamole made up for that as it was the best on the menu. The restaurant itself was perfect for accommodating a larger group. White cheese dip/sauce is a little bland and the taco meat was a tad salty for my taste but it had lots of flavor and seasoning. Chicken enchilada came with white sauce. Chicken also delicious. I never find pleasure in giving a bad review for anyone in the restaurant business but this place was awful. I ordered a chili relleno. It came with an unrecognizable white sauce that tasted horrible. My husband ordered a platter with a few different items including a chili relleno. His sauce was the traditional red sauce. Margaritas on the rocks, get one!! They have flavored drinks and a good price. The only thing I can speak of was that the salsa was not good at all. Other reviewers mentioned the same thing. When I first moved to a Eureka, after living in Texas for over 10 years, I twitched on a regular basis for lack of good Tex-Mex. I simply couldn't find my "fix" for Mexican food around here. Most of the places around lack seasoning and flavor. However, after making a few visits to Amigos in downtown Eureka, we have learned to really enjoy this place. It's large, it's clean, great decor, and an awesome little patio as well. They serve a mean margarita, and their flavors are incredible. I just recently learned to order their Salsa Verde, and the flavor that comes from that bowl is amazing! It's awesome on chips, and even more awesome when poured over their great chicken enchiladas!!! Their cheese dip passes our test with thumbs up, and they have great, thin, crispy chips. Fantastic drinks! I had a regular margarita and it was delicious and big. The food was excellent! I had the birria tacos and they were comparable to the best I've ever had. Amazing food! We couldn't decide between the taqueria next door and Amigos. We settled on Amigos because it is Tex-Mex and my family loves bottomless salsa. Started out with the queso amigo which is white queso with seasoned ground beef, avocado and pico on top! I ordered the chimichanga with mixed beef/chicken and subbed queso for the ranchero sauce. Highly recommend. Parents got the ultimate fajitas to split, and it was more than enough food for two people! The ultimate has chorizo, fajita beef and chicken with sweet bell peppers and onions. Our server really wanted us to try the shrimp options so if that's something you're into keep that in mind. Next time I come I'll try the mojitos!! read more

We were in Eureka Springs on a Sunday at lunch. We tried to visit another restaurant close by and were told it was a 30-40 minute wait for a table. Other places looked just as busy. Then we saw Amigos. We walked in. It was almost empty. Obviously, people don't visit Eureka Springs for Mexican food (Tex Mex would be a more accurate description) and it wasn't our first choice--heck, we live in Arizona, so we have an abundance of good Mexican food around. But we were hungry and this was a cool place with a cozy, dark atmosphere. Worked for us. The server was extremely nice. The chips were good and the salsa had a quiet zing to it. The big TV played the Weather Channel and it was a nice backdrop for conversation with my in-laws. I ordered the tacos de fajitas with chicken. It reminded me of chicken soft tacos at Del Taco, with the addition of fajita fixins like bell peppers and onions. It was a little bland but not bad by any means--sure better than Taco Bell and a few other places. That verdict was repeated by everyone at my table--good and filled the stomach, but nothing extraordinary. The prices were low compared to a lot of sit down Mexican places, too. (Tip: if you Google "Amigos Eureka Springs Ar" you can find their Facebook page, which includes their menu.) Even though the service was a tad slow, we were still out of there in 45 minutes, so it was much faster than attempting to dine anywhere else. So if you're wandering Eureka Springs and just want good and basic food, this is definitely an option. read more

Amigos was great! The free chips and salsa was pretty good and it wasn't long after we ordered that they brought the food out. We ordered a fajita trio and a chicken burrito with queso on top. They both were amazing, especially the fajitas. The meat was juicy with a lot of flavor, the only complaints we had was that the rice and beans were a little bland and the sour cream was kind of sour? Which isn't a big enough deal that I would have given a four star for, but then we got a Tres Leches cake, which was honestly probably two star worthy. It comes out in a plate of milk pretty much wnd looks like a soggy store bought cake. The cake also tasted lemon-y? So it essentially tasted like bland, lemon flavored cake soaked in too much milk with frozen boring icing. The cake was so boring and honestly gross that we didn't even finish it. The service and atmosphere at Amigos was great! Looked like your typical Mexican restaurant and our waiter was quick to check on us and bring our food out. So Amigos is a great stop in Eureka but my main complaint is I would be careful about what dessert you get. read more
