We started out at the Springdale location, which is now closed, and quickly transitioned over to the Rogers location, our new favorite after trying their other locations as well. I have been wanting to try this place out for sometime, there is always lots of cars so that is usually a good sign. When we went the parking lot was pretty full but there wasn't that many people in the restaurant. The surrounding is nothing special, a bit bland actually. We were seated and ordered drinks and got chips and salsa pretty quickly. So far so good. I ordered a fajita taco and chicken enchilada and it came with rice and beans. The rice was ok, the beans were excellent. I did not care for the taco or the enchilada at all. My wife had street tacos and said they were excellent. So, a pretty mixed review. So havent been to this location since the tornado in May 2024. We noticed it had changed some inside. alittle cleaner but the menu had taken on a new price listing. Some things have doubled in prices. But the wife ordered an item as I did and when it was brought to the table it was not what she ordered. So the person bringing it wanted to argue with her. She paid 16 dollars for a few pieces of tilapia. It was nasty as was my burrito plate. During our time their the waitress never came back to the table to ask us if we needed anything to include water. Of course i left a tip which i should not but made a promise then it would be our last trip. Its sad to see this place go down hill. It had been a place we frequent often before the closing after the may tornado. I hope the owner sees that upping his pricing so much and allowing his service to fall is not a wise busines decision. read more

Amazing improvement. After a bad experience several years ago, we have avoided this restaurant. Good news, they are 100% better. The place was clean and waitstaff were great. We had chicken and pork fajitas, and both were good, although the pork was the best. There were pieces of bacon in the mix and you can't go wrong with bacon. I've been to this restaurant and wasn't impressed with anything except for the white cheese dip. It's your average Mexican cuisine that serves up the basic food. The enchiladas are just average as was the street tacos. Just nothin to say wow this was delicious. Believe me there's better Mexican food in the area. This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant. I've been in Arkansas since 2000 and Acambaro never fails me. It is one of the few restaurants I will never grow tired of. This is the place with the best queso and salsa in town. No other place can even hold a candle to Acambaro's chips and queso. Also, for the 20 years, I've been going here, their prices have stayed cheap, while most places have jacked up their prices. I usually get the chicken flautas or carne asada tacos. Those are delicious. My family gets enchiladas or burritos and they love it. While this isn't the most high-quality of restaurants, it is delicious and always hits the spot. One of several Acambaro's in Northwest Arkansas, they all follow the typical standard for Mexican restaurants. Chips and salsa while you review the menu which consists of a variety of chicken, steak, ground beef and pork with an assortment of tortillas and sauces, typically served with rice and beans. We were provided a very large basket of hot chips and individual salsa bowls (hot or mild?) and we also ordered a large bowl of white cheese "queso" for dipping. The chicken taco salad arrived in a large fried tortilla "bowl" and while it had a lot of lettuce, there was also a good amount of chopped chicken in there. The chicken quesadilla also had plenty of chicken with the cheese (though it was focused in the center and not so much at the edges). And the Enchiladas Bandero was one chicken, one steak and one chopped beef with red white and green sauces, served with rice and beans. All of it was good and the drinks were refilled often. I hadn't been to an Acambaro location in years but I love their chips and salsa and quesadillas so we decided to go and have lunch at this location today. Prices were as cheap as I remember them being and you have to love the decor that really invites you in and sets the atmosphere for great Tex-Mex. The staff greeted and seated us promptly and we quickly had sodas and our free chips and salsa. They have mild and hot choices. I always get both and mix them together for the perfect medium. We started with a bowl of their awesome white queso. So creamy and delicious and not too spicy. I had the chicken quesadilla and a couple of tacos de asada on the side. My daughter requested tacos de pollo (not on the menu) but they were happy to accommodate. All of the food was so good and better than we had remembered. We will be back soon for sure. Please come and give this local eatery your business. Not high class food, but it is delicious quality food at a value price. You will love it!! read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I would not bother stepping foot into this restaurant. I placed a to go order. I ordered fajitas chicken and beef with onion only. I also asked for mild salsa. I got home and I had other vegetables in my onions I also had extremely hot salsa that I could not eat. I also did not even receive tortillas to go along with my fajitas. I started to eat the meat and the beef was so fatty that I had to spit it out. I called the next day to the restaurant And I was told that they were going to return my money and to come by after work. I returned to the restaurant after work and when I got there I was told the manager decided that he was not going to refund my money. Was there for lunch and ordered 1 cheese/chili enchilada and 1 chicken/salsa verde enchilada plate. I told the waitress that the cheese enchilada was one of the best I had eaten in a long while. We have been coming here for at least 12 years. The food is superb! However, the service has been going downhill the last couple of years. Today was no exception; we waited 5 minutes to be seated, another 5 for chips to be delivered, nearly 10 more minutes before the salsa was delivered. The meals were served 30 minutes after our chips were served. The check still hasn't arrived. Luckily we were kept busy shooing the flies away from our chips. I have been to many Acambaro locations in Northwest Arkansas. When I moved away from the Bentonville locations that were so conveniently located to my house, I stopped visiting because I did not feel like making the drive. With a new job, I began passing this location every day on my drive home. You can smell the searing steak in the air when you passed in the evenings that attracted me so well. I finally took the plunge and stopped to eat. This location is incredibly delicious! Since September, I have visited this location 2-3 times a month. My favorite items: their spicy red salsa with chips, carne asada tacos, chicken fajitas, chimichanga, and their asada burrito. My husband says their chile verde and guiso de res never fails! Also, there is something about their fountain Coke that is more delicious than anywhere else. The staff is kind and typically attentive. Although, if they get very busy they can sometimes neglect you. You have to get their attention if that happens. The atmosphere can be loud when it gets busy, but it is worth it for the yummy food. read more

Went here for the advertised $3.99 lunch special, and it was delicious. Waitress was a bit short, but it was busy. We had our chips and salsa before we could even sit down, and our drinks a few moments after we ordered them. Our food arrived a few minutes later. Very fast service, all fresh, hot and delicious food. Extremely cheap lunch special, got out only paying $5.38 after tax and tip. My husband went to Acambaro on a Sunday afternoon and they were packed with customers and didn't have a lot of wait staff so getting anything to our table required a wait. The mild salsa is very mild so I mixed some of the hot and mild and really liked it after that. Our food was very good. We do wish they would have a separate exit door available for use after paying for the food. The front door and side doors need some extreme cleaning (especially the sign declaring that they stopped taking checks in 2007). We hope next time they will have more servers that can treat the customers as valued guests. read more

Shrimp and cheese stuffed jalapenos, battered and deep fried, may sound tempting... but don't do it. Half of our order had the shells still on the tails (that was a gross bite surprise), they had that not-so-fresh smell and there was hardly any cheese. My chimi was flavorless asides from the cheap nacho cheese sauce it was smothered with and the rice was extremely dry. If you must go, go for the $3.99 jumbo beer and the chips and salsa. read more

10 years ago during the NWA building boom this was the place to go. Food was good, service was great. 5 years ago the family that owned it got in trouble for employing illegals and had some issues with the DEA. Since then things have gone down hill. On my visit today we got our chips just as we were seated and waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We had to flag down a waitress. They then sent a waiter by to take our drink order. He miss quoted us the price of the beer and then when we asked him the specials he had to go look. While he was gone to go check another waitress came by and proceeded to take our drink order again saying that the previous guy was not our waiter. After she took our drink order and left we waited another 10-12 minutes. Finally my wife flagged down another waitress to see about our drinks. Our waitress finally came back with our drinks but had an extra beer with her(don't know why). Once our order was taken the food came out quick, fajita de reyes. The shrimp were under done. Usually when the food comes out it is on a cast iron skillet sizzling and smoking hot. Ours was barley warm. During the whole meal 40+ minutes the waitress never came by. We needed refills on drinks, more salsa, more tortillas, a to go box, and our check by the time the lady finally came back. Will not be coming back. It is always hit or miss with this place and it has become more miss than anything else. They have no supervision and no one to answer to so the inmates are running the asylum. Also noticed that the hispanic customers where being served quicker and with a more friendly service/attitude. That could be a misperception but that is what it seemed like to me. read more

i really like to eat at Acambaro it is very good food like that in which i have had in mexico . I would like them to do a couple things first get the cleaning supplies out of the bathrooms this is not safe.also we need to have a calorie count listed so we can make better choices this is very important also a requirment by the feds not sure when it is to go in afect but would be great to have. never the less you do make me happy with all the great food so thanks read more
