Best Mexican restaurant in NWA - authentic food made fresh always. Located in the heart of Springdale, this is a perfect little taqueria with many options! Their signature dishes are their tacos and burritos, but I also want to try their flan (dessert) and drinks (specifically the horchata). First, we ordered some chips and guacamole - chips came out warm and the guacamole was SO FRESH. Truly the best I've had while I've lived here in Arkansas. We also got some bottled Cokes to drink (they also have beer and other drink options in cans or made fresh). Then we got tacos and a quesadilla with rice and beans. WOW - the portions were large and we ended up taking about half of our food home. I tried the carne asada, chorizo and lengua tacos - the carne asada was my favorite. My boyfriend got a chorizo quesadilla which came out piping hot and was very flavorful. The rice and beans were also DELICIOUS, I just wish they had come out a little warmer to match the rest of the food. If I could give a 4.95 stars I would just as a small bit of feedback. Otherwise, a perfect meal. Service was nice (the menu is in Spanish and English) and quick considering everything was so fresh. We came here because we seen it was in the top rated on Apple Maps section. Huge disappointment. To begin the waiter (lady) who seated us was very rude when I went to ask her a question about one of the pictures on their menu. I ordered an ague de horchata and my boyfriend an agua de fresa. Both tasted like packaged aguas, don't recommend. We also ordered 2 tortas, 1 was asada and the other was combinada both had no flavor! Buns were very greasy, meat had no flavor and vegetables were not fresh! We found a piece of hair inlay the bottom of my boyfriends plate, very unsanitary. After we finished eating we proceeded to go pay, the guy at the register was very rude, not only to us but to other people as well. He took a phone call while we were talking to him and charged us more than what everything was. Once we left the restaurant me and my boyfriend felt nauseous and out stomachs felt upset. Chorizo tacos are fantastic! So much flavor and the verde sauce they give you just puts them over the top good. Asada tacos are good as expected. My husband did not like the sauce they put on top of the chimichanga. It was a thick red enchilada sauce that was tangy. The service was very good and the workers are very friendly. Lunch for 2. This spot is legit. I ordered the carnitas flautas plate and it was fantastic. I pretty much licked the plate clean. The carnitas had that fatty oily home cooked flavor that took the flautas to another level of goodness. The rice and beans were made to perfection. We were so excited for authentic Mexican food and Guanajuato delivered on all fronts. The al pastor (pork) and bistek (beef) tacos were delicious, the meat is tender and delicately seasoned and a true "street taco" sized corn tortilla ensured we could take down about 6 per person. The condiment plate with pickled cucumber and red onions, diced white onion, cilantro, cabbage, lime wedges and two salsas (green and red both fresh and delicious and the red was H O T!) was amazing and fresh, each of us could season to our hearts' content.
