I had heard good things about Dr. Ash and was very excited to get a referral from my doctor to see him. Once their office called me, I was asked many questions as to why I needed to see him, and I explained in details ( my mistake) what issues I've had . I believe that must have scared them because they would not even give me the opportunity to go in to get checked. Very disappointed and shocked to be refused by a doctor when their sole purpose should be patient care. When asked for the reason, the person on the call tried to give me a diagnosis ( or lack there of) which one would get after being seen. I was actually referred to this provider by a family member who had gotten lasik by Dr. Ash over 10 years ago. I ended up choosing Dr. Ash to do my lasik in March and it wasn't quite the experience you read about. Besides the actual procedure being very uncomfortable, but it was quick... my eyes burned so bad that night that they wouldn't stop watering or hurting. I did not get prescribed pain meds, so I was told to use OTC ibuprofen and it only helped slightly. I did have a follow up the next day and the whites of my eyes were dark red for about 6 weeks, which they said could happen, I guess. I was supposed to get scheduled for a 1 week post op, a 1 month post op, a 2 month post op, etc. They haven't bothered to schedule me. I've called twice to get post op care and they keep stating they will call me and never do. I've gotten no post op care since the day after my surgery. That is scary. Something could be wrong and I wouldn't even know it. I paid in full the day of the procedure, so they have their money and I guess thats all they care about. I do not get the impression they care about their patients and I do not recommend this provider whatsoever. This is a serious procedure that was not cheap, they should make sure their patients are taken care of, healing well, and got the results they were seeking. read more

Warning. If you are coming to see Dr. Ash for a cornea transplant, please be wary. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the work and care of Dr. Ash. His failed out patient follow up with my mom is costing her another cornea transplant surgery. Backstory: My mom came to see Dr. Ash for a right eye Cornea transplant in June of 2020. She has had this same surgery in her left eye back in 2013 with impeccable results. Prior to both surgeries, she has blurry and foggy vision in both eyes. Immediately after her left eye surgery in 2013, the fogginess and blurriness resolved, and she is now able to see 20/20 with a slight correction. Fast forward to 2020 after her right eye cornea transplant, my moms vision improved in terms of the fogginess, but she still had blurred vision in the right eye. Dr. Ash reassured her that this was normal and it would take time for her vision to resolve. In the meantime she is to use Rx steroid eye drops once a day. After numerous follow up appointments, she has the same issue of blurriness, and at each appointment he reassured her that the transplant was a success, her eye is looking better, and the blurriness would go away with time and the continued use of the Rx steroid eye drops. A week ago today (6/24/21), a year after her surgery, my mom noticed the foggy vision returned to her right eye. She made a follow up appointment with Dr. Ash who told her that her body is now rejecting the cornea. She was advised that a possible solution for this would be to use the same eye drops he Rx to her, but now to use it 3 times a day instead of once a day, for a week. If this does not work, then she would require another transplant. He continued stating that if the eye drops do work that she will likely need to continue using these eye drops indefinitely. Mind you, she had the same surgery in 2013 and does not have any of these complications in her left eye, no eye drop requirements, no continued follow ups, nothing. When she brought this up to Dr. Ash, he told her that she got "lucky". No Dr. Ash I don't think she got lucky back in 2013, I believe she was under the care of a more competent ophthalmologist. Now we are searching for another ophthalmologist for a second opinion. Thank you. read more

I was appreciative that this office gave my wife and I a same day appointment. Everyone else were full and backed up for 3 weeks to a month. I received a 3:30p.m. appointment. When I arrived I was greeted by a tall iron gate. It was locked. I rung the bell and a tech came out. She handed my wife and I 2 clipboards through the closed gate and tod us to fill out the paperwork. The temperature was at least 100 degrees outside. I asked "Aren't you going to let us inside?" K She said "You need to fill out the paperwork then ring the bell again. I said, "I can't believe this? This is extreme paranoia." I went back to my car with air conditioning. When my wife and I finished filling out the paperwork I called the phone number on the gate that I took a picture of because I didn't have anything to write on. The tech answered. I told her to come and get the paperwork at my car. I was not going to stand outside the gate in the heat. She said okay and hung up. She never came. She called back 15 minutes later telling us to come. I told her I am not waiting in the heat. She said come inside. We left the car and she let us inside the gate. She pointed toward some chairs still on the outside of the office telling us to sit there. She went inside the office leaving us outside. Now I'm upset. I walked to the office door where she entered. I said you could have left my wife and I in the car. We are still seated in the heat outside. I told her to let my wife and I out the gate which she had locked with a key. After more conversation she let us out. We went to the car and I drove away. She called us 10 minutes later saying we could be seen now. I told her that I work with inmates who get better treatment and courtesy than I received from your office. Bye read more

I am updating my review, based on recent appointment January 18, 2023. WOW! A whole different experience from beginning to end. Support Staff was friendly and professional, and I felt very comfortable through the whole exam. I was escorted into the exam room where Dr. Ash goes over what they found in the exam. When Dr. Ash came in, he was holding a printout of my initial Yelp review. I was so blown away with what happened next. He read parts of the review out loud, and we discussed EVERYTHING. He ended up staying for over 45 minutes, and discussing all things optical with me. He was the epitome of a professional, and I left feeling HEARD. It was pretty amazing, actually. Sometimes, we jump to conclusions, and judge an experience unfairly, without having a complete picture of how things TRULY are. Our opinions are powerful, people, and I should have gone a few more times before doing the blame game. I might add that there were some different faces there, and that, in itself, could've given off a different vibe in the office. Found this place looking on the Maui Jim website looking for a local retailer. It showed they had the best local inventory, so I called ahead to verify this was all true. They quickly answered and told me, "yes, we absolutely have Maui Jim here!" I went in and was greeted by everyone working. I gave a description of what I thought I wanted, but said I was open to suggestions. She helped me try on many different pairs and was honest on what looked best. Dr. Ash is the best. I had my procedure done about 6 years ago and have completely forgotten what life was like pre-LASIK. I've since moved to Florida and when a friend recently said she was thinking about getting her surgery, I suggested she pay an extra $300 and get a plane ticket to California. This isn't a haircut, it's eye surgery. It's worth the extra effort to find the best. I had met with a doctor about getting LASIK about a year or two previous to meeting Dr. Ash but I was told I wasn't a great candidate since my eye tissue was so thin. But with the hardware Amin uses, my procedure was quick and painless. I think I used eye drops for the first few days after surgery and that was it. It's been perfect vision ever since. read more

My Personal experiece with Dr Ash and his staff was awesome!! I wouldnt have changed a thing. It was first class service! My results were awesome too! I have 20/15 vision! I have had a couple friends get the procedure as well and one family memeber and they all have had the same experience as I did. You cant put a price on your eyes either! This is the newest procedure around. Compared to two friends that had the older procedure I dont have any of the dry eyes problems that they have. Basically I wouldnt change a thing!!!! During my consult he explained all of the different versions of Lasik thoroughly, and took the time to answer every little question I had. He always does. There is a reason IntraLase is more expensive than traditional, but the results speak for themselves! His staff (Tasha and Renee especially) worked through every detail with me, and knew all about the insurance and Flexible Spending options I was needing to utilize. There was never any pressure to buy, as a matter of fact I had to wait almost a year before I could actually go ahead and do it. I was referred to Doctor Ashrafzadeh from another doctor and after reading the reviews and my appointment experience, I felt confident that my second cataract surgery would be a success. It's too late once you are laying there in surgery to leave however, if I could have, I would have. Dr. Ashrafzadeh was rude, told me to "shut up" because I was complaining about the pain, burning, intense light like from welding and cold water jetted into my eye. Dr. Ashrafzadeh said, "keep both eyes open or it will hurt more", "It's just going to hurt you more". The body just naturally wants to close both eyes if you have broken glass in one, because that is how I felt, the eyes getting the surgery felt like shards of glass stuck in my eye being dragged over the surface. Since I had an I.V. but I'm laying back I felt nothing administered that would calm or alleviate my pain. I was white knuckled laying there, Dr. Ashrafzadeh complained at me the entire time. I would like to believe even an animal is treated better in surgery. I had requested the same kind of lens that I had in my other eye for this eye. Today is the next day after surgery and the new lens has an over exposed look vs. the other lens. Dr. Ashrafzadeh couldn't even get that correct. I would not wish the pain, torture, humiliation and degrading for any patient. I recommend you keep looking. read more

Dr. Ash and his office were amazing. I had the LASIK procedure done two weeks ago and my vision is better than it has been in 20 years. I should have done this procedure 15 years ago! Tasha and Dr. Ash were amazing; they answered all my questions and their customer service was top notch. The procedure improved my vision that night. By the next morning, my vision was 20/15. The procedure was brief and uncomfortable but not painful. My eyes were sensitive to light at first but quickly improved. I found Dr. Ash online and I was so impressed with his office staff and his knowledge of the different lasik procedures. I have wanted lasik for years but was nervous about the blade and hadn't found someone I trusted with my vision. But after my consultation with Dr. Ash I was at ease. I had the IntaLase procedure so no blade touched my eye! He is very nice and always smiling. The price was somewhat high but it was lower than the big companies like lasik plus or what ever they are called. I had my surgery a week after my consultation and it went great. Had a LASIK consult on December 24, 2014. My appointment was at 230pm. I didn't get called back until 310pm and left at 450pm! Over 2 hours for a LASIK consult?! I was told 20-30min. The staff seemed uninterested, distracted and unaware of HIPPA. Dr Ash, on the other hand, was funny and knows his stuff. I am still waiting a call back to schedule my appointment. Do I really want to spend $6000 when the staff doesn't even care? I'm not sure. read more

Hands down the best, from setting up my appointment all the way to picking up my glasses. One thing that is important to me is customer service and they met all my expectations. I left my last optometric office d/t all the sales pitches and "add-on" services (from staff and Doctor) this office did not even try to sell me on anything, especially when picking out my glasses (greatly appreciated). Also, from a medical perspective the doctor was very thorough and answered all of my questions/concerns and was patient. left satisfied and then to put the cherry on top, I hadn't appointment on a Thursday and by Monday (a holiday, I might add) I received my glasses. If you are considering getting lasiks done, THIS IS THE PLACE. The staff here is professional, friendly, and considerate. Dr. Ash genuinely cares for his patients and builds their trust. He very friendly, smart, and does his job well. I got lasiks done on both eyes in December 2014, and LOVE it. It changed my life and I cannot be any happier. My brother also got both his eyes done in summer 2013 and he agrees with me. The procedure was easy and I am recovering just fine. My eyes felt very dry for a month afterwards, which is normal. I continue to use Systane Ultra Lubricant Eye Drops. Although it is very common and normal, I personally never experienced any difficulties driving at night or seeing halos. I originally saw Dr. Ash for Lasik surgery 6 years ago, but got cold feet. Here we are 2016, I made a consultation appointment and felt so comfortable I ended up having surgery later that afternoon. I was fortunate enough to have my procedure done with the iDesign system. The procedure was painless, stress free and very quick. It is pretty surreal to wake up and see something as simple as the clock without your glasses. I am now a month out and have been able to achieve 20/15 vision.......incredible!!
