They call and cancel and reschedule appointments over and over again. I made an appt months in advance only to have it rescheduled by the office 4 different times. And now the appt isn't until Months after the originally scheduled appt. They are not able to be reasonable when rescheduling. No on-call/cancellation list. The staff are rude. I am very disgusted with Sylvan Eye. I was told today that it is my fault that my bifocals are so low in my lens because I picked a frame that was too deep, and without nose bridge holders. First the original associ supposedly measured where the bifocals would be placed, and should have told me there was a problem with the shape of the frame. Second, when I said I followed the associate's suggestion, it was ignored. I find it annoying to have to hold my glasses up to read anything. read more

The office is chaotic and wastes patient time because they are trying to serve more people than they have staff or doctors for. The optometrist seemed fine, but having to deal with the office to order and pick up glasses is a nightmare. I read a lot of bad reviews but I had such a great experience. As soon as we walked in my kids where welcomed in by two ladies Lila and Beth who where super sweet to them. We got checked in right away. Alisha was super patient with my kids and my son loved her. My daughter really enjoy Addie who also helped us! Everyone was super friendly. We saw Dr.Lee who was great with both kids. Even though neither of them needed glasses the optical side went ahead and let them look at glasses all super sweet. And as we were leaving The manger told my kids happy Halloween and gave them candy. Such a wonderful place to go too definitely recommend for anyone looking for a place for themselves or their kids!! read more

This is my review for right now because I cannot get a hold of this group at all. I have tried emailing and calling their messages are full! I have been going here for over 30 years to one of the doctors there they have been very reliable and plenty of staff. I am hearing now that maybe the ownership changed I know that they have moved to a different location right near their other location. But I may have to go over there to try to find out what's going on because I need new glasses and if this keeps up, I will have to just go to a different group which is bad because they have all my records! I just had the worst experience ever with Krystal the billing manager!! Horrible customer service!! I made an appointment on a Friday for the following Monday and over the weekend. I started not feeling well and I ended up in the ER on Monday. I had to cancel my appointment. I was unable to make it because I was in the emergency room. I've recently received a bill for $25 For the missed appointment. I had a medical emergency and the billing manager said it doesn't matter because it states that you will be charged for any circumstances so it doesn't matter if you have a medical emergency or a flat tire they are treated the same, which I find very unfair. A Medical emergency should have some understanding that the person could not medically make it to the appointment and should not be charged for having a medical emergency. This would have been my first time there and after having this experience, I definitely will never go there, nor will I ever recommend it, very disappointing and horrible customer service!! read more

The service extremely horrible they have my eye records available they kept saying the computers were down due to moving to a smaller location towards the back of the west parking lot. Everything was very nice when I went inside, I have nothing but nice things to say about the medical professionals at Sylvan Eye, but something is up with their billing department. At the time after my contact lens appt. I was told my insurance covered everything, and I even saw and signed a receipt saying I didn't owe anything, but three months later I got a bill for my examination because my insurance didn't cover that for one reason or another. I get it, dealing with insurance companies sucks but I wouldn't trust any place that cant accurately tell me what I owe them, especially if they're going to send me a bill 3 months after the fact. This is something you want resolved day-of or the following week after your appt., not the next fiscal quarter. read more

Decided to update my prescription for a new set of eye glasses at Sylvan Eye Associates. The experience during Covid was understandably mitigated with additional safety measures within the office. However, the order was delayed making the total wait for a new set of glasses to 8 weeks. Nenita, the office clerk commented loud enough for other customers to hear the conversation, that due to my insurance the order was delayed because it was inadequate. This was somewhat embarrassing. I asked her to clean the lenses and she replied, "they are cleaned in the factory." I requested lens cleaner and a cloth to did it myself. Once the smears were cleaned and the dust, I ended my visit. Going back to Stanton Optical for better customer service and prompt order deliveries. read more

Mind you, I've been waiting for my eye appt for 3 months. My appointment was scheduled today at 11, and I went to the old building and parked, I wasn't aware they moved buildings it took a couple of minutes to walk across the parking lot to the new building. When I went to check in, I walked in the door at 11:13, I waited in line for my turn. Hence, I would have made it by the end of the grace period if I would have known they moved buildings. They said that I couldn't be seen because the grace period is only 10 minutes. I was 3 MINUTES PASSED THE GRACE PERIOD! The receptionist mentioned that the doctor was running behind and that she would have to reschedule me and then realized the insurance I have will no longer be accepted after the new year, then said she can't reschedule me. She said I can speak with her manager Monica, which was rude as she walked up and stated that the doctor can't see me and that he has to take a lunch, and I mentioned that he's running behind anyway but she was not trying to hear me out. They could have checked me in, but they wanted to get me out of their hair because they just didn't want to help me. Unprofessional. I would NOT recommend them at all. read more

I really enjoy my visits to Sylvan Eye. I appreciate the levels of sanitation they are keeping during this time, while still providing great service. The optometry department was especially helpful, and Dr. Horner was both a joy and a great help. I am so glad they have such a wide and beautiful variety of glasses to choose from. I usually see Lina Lee and she is amazing at what she does. I'm giving 1 stars for the customer service. Every time I call in to order contacts, I get transferred to Anita but she never answers the phone. I'll leave a voicemail and she'll sometimes call back a week later. Sometimes none at all... I called her to order contacts a month ago and still no answer. I'm going to take my business elsewhere. Some employees look like they don't even want to be there. Since there isn't this one star goes to Mary who was so kind when my daughter and I had been treated so terribly by other staff, specifically Lila and Andrea at the optical desk. We had the worst treatment we had ever received from anyone in a business or otherwise. Their behavior was absolutely unacceptable and any business who employs people that are as rude an unprofessional as both Lila and Andrea will not be having anymore of my business. I would love to share my story to anyone who might find it useful especially regarding Disabled Adult Children and their caretakers. They are rude and do not care in the least if you complain about them. I spent $775 for 2 pairs of glasses that are now worthless to me. They made it clear that they didn't want my business; message received. I took my two daughters for a late afternoon appointment last week. The tech was nice, but complained about her job, which I thought was a bit off. She performed a lot of tests that were timely, but the doctor was late, and they moved us between rooms, which I didn't mind. The tech then mentioned that she usually gets yelled at for this, and afterwards, I can see why. Dr. Lee was an hour late, and complained about her last appointment in a half-apology for her tardiness. She then gave about five or ten minutes to each of my daughters. I asked Dr. Lee about one of my daughter's vision, and she rudely replied, "I don't know! I've never seen her before." She then asked if I had any more questions sarcastically before rushing us out of the room to the office to select glasses. When I came into the reception area, staff at the counter informed me they were closed and that we needed to leave; and I had told them that the doctor told us to go there for our prescriptions. A woman with short red hair insisted come back tomorrow, but one of the office staff was nice enough to print our prescription before then rushing us out of the office. The other staff was complaining that they were already overtime (by maybe five minutes), and clearly were more interested in leaving. All in all, it was extremely poor behavior by the staff. That was our first time there, and we will not be returning. read more

The actual Doctors at this facility are excellent. DO NOT purchase from the retail center. Ordered new glasses using my old frames. Was told that they would be in in about a week. Called them to see if the glasses were in and no one returned the call. Finally had my granddaughter take me down to see them and they said that the wrong prescription came back and it would be about a week until they returned. After not hearing from them for two more weeks I ended up calling them a total of five times leaving a message and never got a returned call. My daughter took me down and they finally had the prescription I had ordered in January and did not get them until March. The service in the store was pleasant in a very passive aggressive way. Their message saying that they return calls is a joke. I am 91 years old and waiting 2 months to get something that was promised in one week is taking chances. read more

The people who answer the phones are uncooperative . It almost seems like they go out of their way to make things difficult for you The short amount of time you get once a year with your doctor is far outweighed by the incompetence inefficiency and just general bad attitude of everyone else who works there. August 23rd I had my eye appointment, they asked me if I wanted to do an exam where they could see inside my eye and that it was 30$ I said okay and signed the paper and everything. So we get through everything I see my doctor and it's time for me to go pick my glasses and pay for the $30. I'm sitting there for 15 minutes. Next thing you know one of the ladies said their computers are down and they're not taking card. They're only taking cash. I only have card. So I wasn't able to pick glasses that day or pay for my exam. She said they'll mail me a bill I said okay sounds good. I get the bill a month later. I still haven't gone jn to pick new glasses out. On the bill it says to make a check for Sylvan Eye. I don't have a checkbook so a week after I got the bill I called Sylvan Eye and asked them if I can come in person and pay for that remaining balance they said OK yeah sure I show up I go into the building and I let them know what I'm here for They say I can't pay with card because it wasn't the day of of my appointment. Why Wouldn't they tell me that over the phone before I drove over here to pay for my remaining balance now I'm getting sent away again to go get cash or a check and bring it back over here, mind you they were the ones that sent me away the first day because their computers were down and now I can't pay when I only have card. The office staff was nice but the technician was so rude and inappropriate to me that I will never step foot in that office again.
