My cousin Leesa and I visited today. After one visit, I can say I will be back! The place is in Chouteau, Oklahoma, but is well worth the drive. They have a bakery with fresh baked goods, bread, and cookies. All their baked goods are made from natural ingredients. The best part? Except for the pies and frozen foods, nothing was over 3.00!!!! We went to the adjacent market and it was a wonderland of yumminess! There was real churned butter, bacon cheddar cheese, and the best hands down pumpkin spice dip I've ever had!! All of the prices were extremely reasonable and the food was very fresh. I even saw kielbasa and lots of fresh meat. We didn't get any frozen food since we were going to the Tulsa Vintage show and didn't want to leave it in the car. But trust me, we will be back to stock up!!! We did eat lunch at the deli. She had a hot dog and apples with peanut butter. I ordered the cheese sandwich with chips. We each had a birthday cake kiddie cone. All in all, the Amish Cheese House is a great place to buy your groceries at a great deal. The prices are great and the food is to die for. We will be back. read more

This place is a favorite stop when in the area. It has the best snacks and lunch meats. You have to try the bologna. Think bologna texture with a salami taste. Wow is it good. Great gifts for the kids with miniature animal crackers Mon marshmallows and all the gummy products. The ice cream is also great. Our favorite is like I said the bologna and cheese samplers for the road. It in the area a lot but we always try and plan a stop there. You won't be disappointed. Visited this location on 7/19/24 on our way back home when we were in the area. Take the extra time to browse or eat when you are visiting. I have eaten a sandwich here & it was very good & affordable. I chose the Whole Panini. You can choose from different types of bread, spreads, cheeses, meat & veggies. They also have Build Your Own Sandwiches, Wraps, Salads, Kids Meals, Sides & Soups of the Day. So many options to choose from. You can eat in the cafe or take your meal to go if you are needing to get back on the road. On this visit, I also picked up some milk chocolate peanut clusters & a cute sticker that caught my eye. The people here are friendly & willing to help if you have any questions. This is a popular place to visit & browse so sometimes it can get crowded in here depending on the day & time you stop in to visit. This place is awesome! On one side is a little bakery with all kinds of pies, breads, cookies, cinnamon rolls, brownies, etc. On the other side is a fabulous store with a HUGE selection of things in jars, boxes of dip mixes, spices, soup mixes, noodles, grains, jerky, cheese balls and all kinds of other yummy things that I can't remember. They also have all kinds of kitchen gadgets, rugs, quilts, and gifts. I was especially impressed with their selection of no-sugar-added jams and jellies. No sugar added apple butter? We have lived in Broken Arrow for almost 4 years now, which is 35 miles away from this place, and never heard about it until yesterday. So we decided to check it out and drove over there. We shopped around the store for a while then grabbed lunch in the cafe. We both did the build your own sandwiches, me getting the roast beef and my wife the honey ham. Both were outstanding. I got the pasta salad for a side which was very good and my wife got the potato salad, which she said was a bit too sweet for her liking. Then we bought several items in the store and some frozen items in the bakery area. I'm looking forward to trying those. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

The Amish Cheese House is legit. The Lebanon bologna panini was outstanding, as was the Wisconsin cheese soup. Their sweet tea is as it should be, super sweet. There are so many choices in the menu; it was hard to choose. The market has more varieties of cheese than I've ever seen. And the bakery, it's unreal. Cookies, cakes, cinnamon rolls-still warm. If you're on Hwy 69 in Chouteau, OK, definitely stop here for a meal! read more

Stopped today for the first time today at the Amish Cheese House. I had heard things, but did not anticipate the variety, tastiness and quality of products. We worked the store from left to right but didn't get into the restaurant area. My first stop was sampling a bear jelly and pineapple salsa and that started my opportunity to sample my way through the store. I was impressed with almost everything I tried. I love you can try stuff before you buy. Beyond the samples sitting out, I tried the yogurt cheese from the deli area. I don't care for yogurt so I was surprised this was better but I wouldn't eat it by itself yet on a sandwich would be great. The flavored pretzels were good but the flavoring was mild. Now for the knock your socks off: 1. Fudge. It melts in your mouth. Purchase a pound and get a half pound free. I tried chocolate nut, praline, turtle. After trying I bought the pepperoni cheese and the lightening cheese. The only limit to my purchase was my bank balance. I will be back very soon read more

My African American adult daughter and her white friend were visiting there today. Her white friend was treated with respect and friendliness when she checked out. The person checking out my daughter was rude, wouldn't look her in the eyes, provided poor service, and ran off. Amanda said nothing, and continued browsing the store for a bit. Someone must have called a security man, who followed my daughter around. This was racist, and very disappointing, especially since my daughter just loves shopping there. This is the only reason (other than gas) to stop in OK. The Amish Cheese house is the perfect spot for a wholesome homestyle sandwich, especially if you like Liverwurst. Their food products are spectacular, especially the "meat" cheeseball. I plan my drive through OK based on whether the cheese house is open or not, and always bring a cheeseball home. We love this place! The homemade white bread tastes like pound cake. So delish!! They use this bread for their sandwiches. We absolutely love their sandwiches. My favorite is the spicy buffalo chicken with the habanero cheese and spicy mustard. It's so amazing! Also the roast beef sandwich is amazing! We always order lunch meat and cheeses to go! I've shopped at this place several times and love all their homemade goodies, but I had never eaten from their cafe. I just happened to be passing through around lunch time on a Friday and stopped in. I had the small grilled chicken bacon ranch wrap and a side of pasta salad. The wrap was full of fresh ingredients and was delicious. The pasta salad had a potato salad type dressing. The flavor was good, but too overpowering for the pasta. I'm sure it would be great as potato salad, though. They also serve several kinds of salads and that seemed to be what most people were having that day. I was pleasantly surprised to see spinach and different kinds of greens instead of the boring iceberg or romaine that I expected. Even though I was stuffed from my "small" wrap, I just had to stop into the bakery at the other end of the store. As soon as you walk in the door you are overwhelmed with the smell of fresh baked goods and it warms your heart. I grabbed some no bake cookies and brownies to go. We passed this en route to Kansas City from DFW. It is a simple grocery with loads of real Amish goods from their community in OK and another one in OH. The German Chocolate cake is AMAZING! Moist and not too sweet. My husband and I think theirs if so much better than the Magnolia Bakery in NYC. Plus its so much cheaper too! We also bought Molasses, Jam (no sugar!), apple butter and sassafras tea concentrate that we'd be trying soon. Though I was disappointed with the Amish soda. I wish they'd brew homemade Amish root beer like the Dutch Haven in Lancaster County, PA. Next time we drive by, we will definitely be bringing a cooler so that we can bring home cheeses, sausages and maybe a tub of homemade ice cream. Oh and I'd like to try their pies :) read more

Passing on our way through from Dallas to Missouri. I guess we should have known better than to stop in a small town in Oklahoma. Rude staff from the beginning then the experience just got worse. As we were leaving after buying items in the store part of their establishment my two young girls had 2 toys in their hands that they had been looking at. I immediately noticed they still had them and made them go put them back before we left. As all this happened 3 staff members stared at us. We left and then had to come back because my daughter had left something inside. After we left 2 of the staff followed us out and accused my children of stealing from them. I pointed out that they all were looking at us as my girls put them back (they are 3 and 5.) She said, "no, no one saw you put them back." I know for a 100% certainty they did. I am going out on a limb guessing they saw my husband and daughters and thought that was an easy accusation to throw out. I guess if my whole family was one color we would have been treated differently. read more

Amish Cheese House is worth the stop! They have wonderful butter, not to mention yummy cheeses. In this store you'll also find natural deli meats, a variety of spices and all kinds of candies & nuts too! On one side of the store is a bakery that smells of freshly made out of the oven pies & cookies. The heavenly bakery aroma & delights draw you in to buy them. And on the other side of the main store is a cute sandwich & ice cream shop with inside seating to enjoy a bite. Anytime that we are in this area I'll have my husband stop just so that I can stock up on the fresh roll butter from Amish Cheese House, seriously this sweet creamy butter to me is soooo worth it. Outside of the store are rocking chairs to buy or just to sit in while you wait for the others in your party to finish their shopping. *Oh and a there is a gigantic rocking chair that's just for taking silly pictures in, perfect touristy photo opt, so make sure you stop. After finding out that the Cherokee restaurant in Vinita did not serve authentic Native American fare, we decided to press on. We found the Amish Cheese House and were blown away by the descriptions!
