She sent me a quote for just a total of $5250.00 with no details. Just a texted total! I said can you send me a formal quote with type of flooring picked out, model, square footage included, trim needed and lead time to get started. I received a email with the body of the email typed out with the square footage and name brand of the flooring. No breakout or itemized quote just a total once again. I called the store and spoke with the owner and he said if "If I wanted to do business with them that I would come in person and they would "verbally" tell me everything but couldn't give a formal quote". I recently purchased a condo unit and wanted to have some small work done on it. I was recommended…read morethis company by the building manager because they had experience working on other units in the building. Unfortunately the experience was not satisfactory. From the start communication with the company was slow and unprofessional. I would send an email or a text message and not receive a response for days. When work did begin, they entered my unit technically on schedule but without giving me any kind of heads up or notice about when to expect their arrival. When I asked them to come back to fix some things they missed, they said they would arrive in the morning but morning came and went without any kind of notice or communication until they suddenly showed up in the late afternoon. For the work that was to be performed, some of it was completed well but a couple of large items were not done/fixed at all. This is partly my fault, because even though we identified these fixes during the initial walkthrough they were not present on the final quote/estimate (which looks like it was typed in Microsoft Word 1997) and I overlooked their omission. Their customer service rep informed me in strong language that they were not responsible for the missing items but they would send the workers back "as a courtesy" to remedy things but only if the fixes were easily done, and if they'd require more than a little work they would not fix them. Some of the work that was performed was not done well. In particular I had a lot of smart light switches installed, and many of them are installed in a sloppy way, misaligned and with obvious gaps in some of the surfaces. This may be because the existing wiring/structure makes it difficult, but I would definitely expect some communication in this event e.g. "hello customer, we are having some difficulty with the installation because of X Y and Z, we can do either A or B, please advise" but there was nothing of the sort. I returned to my condo after the work was complete and was surprised by the result. To top things off, the price I paid for all this work was far too high given the mediocre quality of the work and the poor customer service. The people at Axis whom I interacted with were friendly, but if you go with this contractor please be aware of what you're getting: a small company with inconsistent and poor communication, which just wants to get the job done as quickly and with as little effort as possible.

Daniel seemed to know what needed to be done and let us know he had lots of experience. It is not a year later and the floors will need to be ripped out and replaced due to the subfloor not meeting the national wood flooring guidelines. The cherry wood flooring buckled and shot right out of the floor in places due to no moisture protection being laid down. This was brought up during the installation and we were told he knew what he was doing and to let him do the work. I have contacted Daniel through texts. Phone calls and emails asking for him to come look at them and see what he could do to fix the problem. He has refused to come or have any more contact since the initial phone call telling him the problem. He just said to me. I didn't appreciate his work and he said the floor and labor was only for three months. This is not true or even the guide line for flooring. I have given Daniel a month to come and make it right. I don't recommend this company.

We got our kitchen granite through DE, so when we were in there, we talked to Sam, then Abdul. Both said they could help us. Sam went on vacation a short time later, and we dealt with Abdul the rest of the time. Abdul walked us through the whole re-do. They did it in an amazing timeframe. I really like that fact that they have sub-contractors that they can call and have them at my house in less than 2 hours - usually within 1/2 hour - 45 minutes. The results are magnificent! Abdul showed up virtually every day to check on the project and make sure we were happy. I will always call Abdul first when I need work done!!

From the beginning Matthew and the whole DE flooring staff were friendly and helpful, with lots of recommendations. They sent me a handful of slab yard recommendations and it took us going to three to find exactly what we were looking for. They worked with us on pricing, edging for the stone, recommendations for sinks (which we bought online), and were flexible on timing. They also organized getting the plumber to install the new sinks, and have subcontractors for anything you'd possibly need for a renovation. I would use DE flooring again on future jobs, and we've been really pleased with the quality of their work.
