Reach out to "Your Texas Patio" and set an appointment got an automated message with a reminder on the day of the appointment. The meeting went well and the person that showed up at my house was nice and polite. The problem was that I felt as if I had to chase the person in order to get my bid. They stated that they had to go out of town and I would get the bid when they returned. So I received the bid 7 days after my appointment and 5 days after all the other bids. The price of the concrete was a fair price but I decided to go with another company because of the time frame I needed. Perhaps next project I can use this company. read more

Selected this company based on the 5 star reviews 4 years ago. We allowed Jacob carte blanche (an error in judgement) on the design based on the previous pictured projects on his website. Since then, the expensive Top Gal covering didn't extend to cover the wood and it began to rot. The Top Gal covering now has a gap between the panels and leaks onto the cement porch. The space between the pergola and gutters is a tight fit and presented some problems when replacing gutters. I actually contacted Jacob before seeing these problems for another pergola project but he," ghosted" me. Am thankful that he did because I found an excellent contractor to build an outstanding additional pergola. Would not consider him for any other project. read more

From top to bottom, these guys are amazing. I'd received a pretty obnoxious quote for a covered patio and kitchen so did a little bit of price shopping. Of the 6 quotes I got, Jacob at Your Texas Patio blew them all away (he beat the obnoxious one by nearly $50,000 for basically the exact same project). I generally don't go for the cheapest option, but after the initial conversations he had me convinced that he knew what he was doing. So, I dove right in. As soon as they had the go ahead, work was underway. Angel led the way on the construction end and was out there every day (often including the weekends) doing everything from tearing out the side of the house to connect the structure, putting down posts, framing the roof, painting, etc. A real construction stud. In no time the project was complete and I'm extremely happy with the finished project (which beat our target date by about 2 weeks). Sure, there were some snags along the way. I had some plumbing issues that needed to be addressed (1960s house with original sewage lines), a sprinkler than was inadvertently damaged and the need to run a gas line from the other side of the house. Jacob fixed anything that needed to be fixed immediately, and if there was something outside the scope of the project he had someone out there for me to consult with on the same day (I couldn't even get my longtime plumber or audio guys out within two weeks). If I had a tweak to design or a minor addition, it was done. If I had questions on the project at 11pm after a few whiskeys or on a weekend at 7am on my way to a soccer game, it was answered. Sure, he looks like a kid, but he knows what he's doing. I'll be using them on my next projects and you probably should, too. read more

We had YTP demo our old patio and pour a new one that covered the entire length of the house. Overall a good experience. Pros: Constant communication, fully transparent on the pricing, job was done really quickly once HOA approval was obtained. The job quality was very well done and the curved edges look sharp. Staff was friendly and respectful and didn't at all interfere with our daily routines. Cons: Destroyed my backyard. I understand it's near impossible to get that equipment in and out but having to relay sod in 40% of my backyard was not in the plans. The staff left many heavy objects in the yard (that killed many sections of the grass) that were moved from the original patio and not put back after job completion. Overall a positive experience and we would recommend them and use their services again. read more

No show for first appointment so we decided not to move forward with this contractor. Leaving one star for poor communication. We texted confirmation 2 days prior and even confirmed appointment through their link (which they sent the link morning of the appointment. We confirmed within 20 mins of receiving the link). What is the point of having a customer confirmation portal sent to customers (late) if you're not going to go by the customers portal response? I'm so confused what the point of it is. They said they didn't show because I didn't answer their call at 30 mins before the appointment. I am confused how many times I need to confirm. It just feels like poor internal communication between their coordinator and sales guy. I asked if anyone left a voice message or text when they tried to reach out because I didn't see anything. They said the phone just rang and they didnt get to voicemail - which honestly is not true. Our inbox isn't full and just sounds like an unprofessional excuse of not following up better with your customers. They came to do an estimate right away and sent me the breakdown later that day. I just had to send them a few things and they submitted everything to the HOA for me. After approval from the HOA they started ASAP. It only took a few days to complete and I was told when they would come out, and what they were working on that day. When the form was completed they checked with me to ensure I liked the size and shape before poring the concrete. Since I work in an environment where I can't be on my personal phone they would text or email me updates. I felt completely informed throughout the process and they answered any questions I had. I have been wanting to work with Jacob for about three years, after seeing some of the work he has done for others in the subdivision in where I live and following his projects on Facebook. My husband has wanted an outdoor kitchen for years and so this year, we made the decision to make it happen. We received bids from a total of 4 contractors, including Jacob and of the 4 we immediately removed two and were left with Jacob and another contractor. We went with Jacob because he said he could complete the project in a shorter time frame than the other contractor and their was not a significant difference in pricing. So I came across them on yelp after calling tons of people to get a quote for my out door patio. I wanted to add a slab off my pool that was 40 by 8 feet. I had budget for the project that I needed to stay in. After calling so many companies that I felt were over charging, complicating the project or did not understand my vision I found Your Texas Patio. I called and spoke to a lady that was very easy going not intense or overly complicated. I asked if I could send her a picture and she gave me a quote quick, easy and painless. I called back and wanted to know if I could add stairs she said she would send someone over to put eyes on it. The next day Jacob came over we talked and he said ok I got it, we can make it happen. The next day at 7 am his crew got to work and was done by 3 pm. The crew was very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure my existing structure was covered in my pool as well.
