I've been a patient at this practice for about eight years. I primarily see Bobby Roth, and she has always been excellent--professional, compassionate, and easy to understand. I have also seen Dr. Peng, but I've had difficulty understanding him, and during one visit he told me that I had "the brain of an 80‑year‑old at 50." This was delivered without a clear clinical explanation and felt abrupt and unnecessarily alarming, especially considering I had been off medication for 17 years with minimal progression and otherwise stable health. The communication left me feeling confused and unsettled. The front office staff has also been a consistent concern. Over the years, I've noticed that they can be curt or dismissive and often lack empathy toward patients, particularly older individuals who may require extra patience. Initial phone call as a new patient. Receptionist was very rude and complete lack of interest in providing information or scheduling an appointment. Informed it would take a week to "build a new patient chart" and they will not schedule an appointment until the new patient chart was created. Not to call again but they would call me when the chart is ready. Makes absolutely no sense. I have been a health care provider for 23 years and have yet to have these types of delays or issues. Not a professional first impression. I called my insurance company and asked for another provider. I am not going to deal with a clinic like this. The high number of negative reviews already had me concerned and my initial contact with this clinic has validated that this will not be a place I wish to receive treatment. read more

I cannot recommend Laurie MacAfee highly enough! From the moment I met her, I was blown away by her knowledge, curiosity, and genuine kindness. She met me exactly where I am, truly listened, and understood my rare and unusual illness in a way almost no doctors or specialists do. Her suggestions have genuinely helped me and were tailored perfectly to my needs. She is exceptionally intelligent, compassionate, and approachable, making every appointment informative and reassuring. I honestly love everything about her; she is by far the best neurologist I have ever seen. She is brilliant, and I'm so blessed to be under her care. The Medical Assistants never return patient phone calls, they have unprofessional attitudes, and have NO business working with patients. When I actually spoke with one (after I spoke with the Office Manager and told her that I'd been following up for months with no return phone call), the MA had a horrible attitude and complained about how busy SHE was, "inundated with patients, faxes, etc." Apparently she forgot that she was talking to a patient while she complained about her workload. I work FT and have been in client service my entire working life (33 years of working life, the past 20 years with Multiple Sclerosis), and would have been fired for speaking to a client like this, let alone giving them attitude after not returning their phone calls. She talked over me, she was argumentative, and could not comprehend that she did anything wrong. She gave me a non-apology, telling me "Sorry if I didn't return your call in a timely manner" ... it was SIX BUSINESS DAYS since I had left a message, and she only called me back after I spoke to the OM. She might as well have told me, "sorry if you were offended by my lack of professionalism..." She then told me that she "had done her part" and ordered the medical equipment I needed. This, after a month-and-a-half of my leaving two messages with no returned calls. I am not complaining about a food order being wrong, or not receiving enough ketchup with my fries - I need a crucial piece of (very expensive) medical equipment, and this MA was talking to me like I was an inconvenience. She kept talking about how she had other patient phone calls to return, (I reminded her that I was a patient, too). She told me "if I don't have any information to share" that she sees no need to return a patient's call. The tone of her voice suggested that I was wrong for thinking that a return call was warranted. So if they are having issues getting equipment approved by your insurance, or other problems, don't expect her to return your call even as a courtesy to let you know that they are having issues, and that there are reasons for the delay. No status update, no minute of her time will be wasted on such a triviality. Better to leave the patients in limbo, and put the burden on them to keep calling, and calling, and calling. I told her that her behavior was unconscionable and unprofessional, and I hung up. She had told me that she was fairly new, but I have been a patient at Amity for at least 4 years, and have had the same issues with prior MAs, so this seems to be the caliber of employee they tolerate. For what it's worth, the OM was very nice and took the time to hear me out. She, and the physicians working at Amity, deserve a better staff. I encourage the OM, and the physicians, to look at the other Yelp reviews (and Google reviews). I am not the only one who has experienced this treatment. read more

No one ever answers the phone when you call, and no one returns your call. I recently had to cancel an appointment for my husband because of an urgent matter elsewhere. I called, left a message and asked them to call and reschedule. No one ever called back. I tried calling again, no one answers the phone, and I have not received a return call. The last time he was there, quite a while back, they were supposed to call to schedule an MRI and never did. I've asked our primary care to refer us to someone else. read more

Bobbi Lee was fine, although she was never able to figure out my memory issues that have been going on and progressive worseNed over the past several years. Her medical assistant is the worst! she's rude and doesn't do her job. insisted I had a different insurance company than I actually had and screamed at me over the phone when I tried to let her know. I do not recommend this practice, go somewhere reputable and don't waste your time here unless you want to deal with the rude and incompetent staff. read more

Genuinely, take a months long waiting list over an appointment here. Dr. Roth was dismissive of and entirely incurious about symptoms and concerns, and never spoke to us for more than several minutes each appointment. Dr. Roth prescribed a medication that interacts negatively with the patient's on-file, currently taken medications without answering questions or offering explanations of the medication's effects. Dr. Peng referred to the patient as "it" while speaking to an assistant during a nerve test. Amity repeatedly told patient that they would call upon reviewing test results to schedule follow ups; they never did and always required a call from the patient to initiate scheduling. After many tests that took months to schedule, approve, and perform, Dr. Roth in an appointment said, "Your tests all came back clear, by the way," and did not elaborate or ask any further questions before prescribing said conflicting medication- stating it was to alleviate a symptom the patient never claimed to have in relation to their concerns- and quickly left the room. Despite supposing to have received information requests from both a law firm and a government body, Amity neglected to send documents and test results to said body, resulting in negative consequences against the patient. All other medical groups sent those same requests for information responded promptly and without issue. No delivered phone calls were ever answered, and less than 1 out of 5 left voice messages were returned. Never go here, nor trust them with your health/the health of those you love; they do not respect the responsibility and power they hold over your potential to thrive as a patient. read more

This place is horrible for patients care, returning calls, appointments and communication. Unfortunately we cannot find any other neurologist in our area that accepts Medicaid. After years of waiting for answers and no help we are at a loss as to what to do for our family member. read more

I went here to have neurology testing and examinations. I had four visits for various tests and consultations. Only saw Dr. Peng once during an EMG test for about 6 minutes. He didn't engage in any conversation. Final visit was uneventful. I was told they are done with me and no need to return. Apparently they didn't know how to figure out a plan to deal with my condition with physical therapy or any other ideas going forward. I don't recommend this facility. read more
