I have been a patient for about 7-years, and I could not be any happier with his level of attention, his chair side manner, and his ability to actually listen to the patient. Having a specific genetic disorder that is approached with other unknowns is hard enough. One of these unknowns brought me here and he not only described the issue but has been instrumental in my mitigation of migraines and visual fatigue in the workplace. He completes paperwork as required and ensures my onset medications are refilled quickly. And because of the uniqueness of my diagnoses, I have had the opportunity to train some of his staff in working with me specifically or others like me to produce positive results in testing and photography/scans that can be otherwise difficult to accomplish. My favorite memory here....the ability to play Stump the Chump with one of his UNR interns doing an ophthalmology rotation. This guy had no clue what he was up against and Dr. H just sat back and enjoyed the show! One review said "his ego can inflate a hot air balloon!" Of course it can! This man has earned accreditation and validation to the point of being published in his research and treatment and the accolades that come with that honor. I am going to have a hard time having someone else follow me - if they can, that is! The journey I've had with Dr. Hershewe bas been an amazing one - I have learned a lot and glad I was referred to him during a huge time of unknowns in my world. He made the difference. He also provided a clinical diagnosis which was inaccurate. When I presented facts to show his diagnosis was incorrect, he then changed his mind "oh, then it's not that". Seriously folks. The student went to talk to the doctor after taking my history and doing an assessment. The doctor told me my primary issue wasn't neurological. He was pretty matter of fact about it which I guess people could take the wrong way, but I like it pretty clear cut. He then gave me good medical advice on my issue. Then he told me about headaches, gave me a headache journal, and told me to call if me headache worsened. Personally, I liked him and every staff member I talked with. It also seemed like I got in a little early.

My Physician referred me to have an evaluation. This office called me and set up an appointment. I…read morewanted to wait for the CT scan that I also was referred to from my M.D. I was reading and I walked in. There was no one else in there, I walked up to the counter and told the girl I had an appointment gave her my name. Just kind of strange to have a new patient without much in the way of greetings or social interaction. The wait in the first waiting room was about 10 min. After filling out paper work and doing the insurance stuff, the office girl asked for the copay and then took me to the second waiting room. There was 1 other person in the second room. After about 10 minutes, 2 more people showed up. After 15 minutes, the second waiting room was completely full. Still no sign of neurologist or Physician Assistant. Took about 30 minutes to get called in. I was seen initially by the physician assistant. He was polite and friendly. He asked good pointed questions He did the full neurological test check for loss of sensation and stuff like that. After the initial evaluation, the physician is called in neurologist. Went over a few items and then referred me to have an MRI. Quick and efficient, but no bedside manner, other than the physician assistant. They have followed other medical offices and make appointments only available Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
