Def has potential! I tried it for the first time and I think it was just an off day for me. I am a mystery shopper so I feel like I am looking for things like when I do my shops. I always have an issue when people can tell someone has not been to a place before and even if they havent it should be an immediate question. Is this your first time here? It builds a relationship. The owner and his employee seemed to have had an exchange about the meat being used for the shwarma. I order rhe shwarma combo but ask for it dry, I dont like sauces ir other wet ingredients making my food soggy. I asked for no garlic sauce and you guessed it, I got it anyway. Didn't want to make a fuss besides I was starving. Food looked good but there was a piece if plastic in the shwarma who seems like it may have been part of the wrap it came in. Again I am starving and just peeled it off and continued. I should have said something but didnt. Well played and presented with just the right portion size. Fries were really salty, I jist wiped the salt off and continued and I ate at the store. I would def try again as this place def has potential but will remember to reiterate my order and confirm, any problems bring it back. read more

Came for a quick bite. It's a deli/market with a focus on middle eastern foods. They have a variety of food items to buy with the deli offering sandwiches. I tried the meat schwarma. Overall not bad, pita had a nice toast to it, sauce was good. Meat felt a bit dry but I think that's due to being on the skewer for too long. Owner was friendly, prices very reasonable. This is the worst shawarma I've ever had, very small. Not much meat and absolutely no vegetables or salad. Cost 10$ , its price is 5$ at most but I do not recommend buying shawarma at all, I will not say for other dishes but the shawarma is disgusting and very small. Poorly wrapped, sauce leaks out. Calling this place a specialty market is a bit narrow in scope. I think of it more as a Bodega with a focus on delicacies from the Middle East (as opposed to Hispanic goods). Whether it be hard to find spices, breads, cheeses, or the expansive selection of candy, there is a huge selection of foods and packaged goods spaning the entire region. Mmmm I can't get enough of this place. Just got another falafel platter over rice with the creamy garlic, tahini and hot sauce with a side of raw veggies and pickles. The flavors are poppin"! Picked up my favorite bread, and stocked up on some of my favorite condiments, and labneh of course. The Hummus,Baba Ganoush,Tzaziki, Falafel are outstanding and reasonably priced. Their Kebobs and grilled meats are excellent. They have the best Lentil soup I have tasted. This grocery market recently opened a hot grill, expanding their store by a bit. As someone whose lived in Philadelphia and now Cherry hill surrounding area, I can tell you it is very hard to find a place who makes shawarma with the authentic meat seasoning/flavors. They've done a pretty good job nailing the flavors. I think it's the best one I've had around. The owner is such a nice man. For example, one of the few places you can find limoo amani (dried black lemons for Persian cooking). The fresh food section was thinner than the canned and dry sections. Good selection of cheeses (feta, labne, puck), frozen foods and trays of baklava. Photos on Yelp are accurate depictions of the stock they carry. Plenty of parking. read more

Having moved to South Jersey from an area with excellent Greek and Middle Eastern markets, I searched Yelp for a local option. Not only does Ammon have an excellent selection of Middle Eastern grocery items and fresh foods, their hot items are fantastic. The gentleman (perhaps owner) gave me a sample of their lentil soup and falafel, and they were so delicious, I ordered takeout for my husband and me. I ordered the lamb kufta for him and the falafel fries platter for me - both exquisitely fresh and tasty. Ammon is now our go-to place for Middle Eastern takeout - far superior to 2 other places we've tried since moving here. read more
