There was a little bit of a wait, but he wasn't rude about it . Once and we ordered a drink at the bar from the Bartender as soon as the Bartender notice us there he grabbed a drink order made our drinks quickly. Something in their management or operations has clearly changed. I used to visit these venues frequently, but one night I was abruptly escorted out with no explanation or reason given. I later learned from others that if you're not constantly purchasing drinks, they will single you out and ask you to leave. I'm not a big drinker--but had I been treated with respect, I would have gladly made full dinner nights out of it there. On previous visits, security staff would oddly sit next to me and ask if I was "okay," as if something was wrong, despite there being no issue. On another occasion, I was told to leave without any explanation whatsoever. I am a well-dressed, respectful, and well-groomed individual, and the only apparent reason for this treatment was that I wasn't repeatedly buying overpriced drinks or reserving a table. Staff constantly watch and patrol the venue, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and discourages guests from ordering at their own pace. This made me feel unwelcome and pressured rather than relaxed. Additionally, having worked closely with city code compliance in the past, I can say that the hallway connecting Sugar and Tea Room appears too narrow during their over-capacity weekend nights, creating a potential fire hazard in the event of an emergency. I'm not sure whether the city or fire department has been made aware of this. I am a reasonable and respectful person and would not have posted this review if management had simply provided an explanation or apology after I reached out privately. I received an initial response stating they would follow up, but no further communication ever came. Brickell now offers many better options, and I've been treated far better at other venues. Until I receive an apology and a genuine welcome back, I see no reason to remove this review or return.

I was grateful the bar area had an outlet close by so I was able to charge my phone while drinking. The bar had chairs with full backs which were much comfier than typical bar stools. They had happy hour specials until 8pm including $8 cocktails. As expected from the name, the Que Fresco was light, citrusy, and refreshing. The Stepchild was an unexpected gem. It was succulent and juicy. I am not usually a fan of honey in drinks but in this one it was subtle and tasty. It's located in the heart of Brickell close to Brickell City Centre and next to Talkin' Tacos. I've passed it many times and never been before. Our comedy show was at 9pm so we got there early and you enter a bar area with a small dance floor and DJ booth. The door guy told us to wait next to the doors by DJ booth. They opened the doors a little after 9pm and let us in. There's this whole other room in the back with tons of seating, a stage and bar area. Some of the decor felt a bit outdated, but it was still a cool vibe nonetheless. The space is so big and has so much potential for improvement, We snagged seating in the middle area. There were several cozy couples seating in front of the stage but 2nd row, we didn't want to get picked on the entire night. Lol. The two main hosts of the comedy show looked like they worked at Blackbird Ordinary as they had staff jackets on. They were in our opinion, the FUNNIEST!!! Everyone also got free shots with their tickets. Nice bonus! Lemondrop shots!!! Whew, it's been a hot minute since I did shots. Ha. After they started the show, they introduced several local or out of towner comedians and honestly, it was a good diverse crew of comedians. She showed me the beautiful Tea Room and encouraged me to bring my friends and sister over to enjoy it. That ended up being the highlight of our night. The views, atmosphere, and hospitality completely changed the mood for our entire group. From there, every member of the staff continued to make us feel welcome. The bartender kept us laughing, celebrated with us by pouring shots, and made the experience so much fun. The front host (I'm so sorry I forgot your name!) also checked in on us and made sure we were having a great time. Even the security guard went above and beyond... he held his flashlight up while we were taking pictures so we could have the best lighting for our photos. It may seem like a small gesture, but it perfectly showed how every single person on the team genuinely cared about making our night special. The space itself was beautiful, but it felt more suited for cocktails rather than a seated dinner for a large group. We were offered another option at the Tea Room on the other side, which had more dining space. I will say the food was excellent--Asian tapas-style cuisine and everything we tried was very good. However, there still weren't enough seats for everyone, and two bridesmaids and I ended up standing for most of the dinner. They did eventually bring out two chairs, but by that point I was already a bit frustrated. Another challenge was communication with the staff. We were being charged for sparkling water when we had asked for regular water, which should have been included with our meal. I also had to remind them that our package included two drinks per person. The drinks came out slowly, while the food came out quickly. I understand accommodating a group of 20 can be challenging, and overall everything worked out with a few bumps along the way. That said, the food really was excellent.
