When we walked in, we were quickly greeted by the owner I believe. We were the only ones in the restaurant, which is always daunting. However I am glad we stayed. It is BYOB and we were not prepared for that and there is nowhere super close. Bread came out piping hot. It was a little bland and could use more garlic and butter. I don't like it drowning in it but this just tasted like fresh bread. I added salt to marinara and it was good. Side salads were good The portions are huge! Chicken Cacciatore was good but could use more spice. There was very little bite, added red pepper and it was good. Chicken piccata was very lemony, which I love. I like a lot of capers. If I order again, I will ask to double the capers. It needed salt as well. Chicken didn't appear to be breaded. It has parm on it. It was delicious. All in all we will be back! Service was great and she was super nice. There was music in background. Wouldn't say it's a romantic spot as you can hear kitchen and people calling out to go orders. Very casual. read more

I had gone here for years and heard they had closed and just reopened under new management/ownership. I called for carry out to test things out and met the new owners picking up my food. I use to eat at Amores a few years and the food was good. I always got the eggplant and it was good. today I got a takeout order and it was the worst I have ever eaten. The eggplant was a small portion and dry with no marina sauce on it. the container was full of crappy spaghetti, if I had wanted spaghetti I would have ordered it, it came with no salad or a roll like it use to. I will never eat there again. I don't know how they get good reviews. read more

I don't understand what happened to this restaurant. I ordered delivery via grub hub and it was the biggest waste of money. Why is there SO MUCH WATER in the pasta?? The noodles were SO soggy and overcooked like they've been sitting in water for hours. The meatballs... I'm not convinced there is actual meat in it???? They were GRAINY and fell apart before I could chew. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I've never spoken so poorly of a restaurant. This is absolutely horrible and unacceptable. My friend and I went here on a Tuesday and were seated by the owner, Lisa, who is very friendly and helped us figure out which pizza to get. We were in luck because Tuesday is buy one get one free! You are supposed to ask for it to get it, but I think Lisa had pity on us, my friend wanted pepperoni but I wanted onions and olives. We each got our own pie and I am so glad because that pizza was delicious. Fresh and beautiful tasting crust. I honestly don't know how this restaurant has 4.5 stars. Dined here with my husband. I ordered the manicotti which, instead of filled pasta tubes, was lasagna sheets. I guess that would have been ok but the food itself had zero flavor. I tasted nothing. My husband said his chicken in the chicken parm had a weird texture and tasted like sausage (maybe sage?). The rolls were ok and I appreciated that they came with sauce but again the sauce was tasteless. We also ordered cheese sticks which we were told were made "in house" which my husband said was probably true because they were flavorless. Service was satisfactory but the server didn't inquire upon seeing our mostly untouched plates. The inside was older and really warm. We almost didn't stay it was so warm but wanted to give it a chance. Sadly we definitely will not be back to Amore. read more

We have been coming to Amore's for many years and have seen it rise and fall. In the early days of our patronage, it was cute and cozy, fairly inexpensive, and felt like a family place. We probably had the same server 20+ times. Then the fire in 2016, which was a huge loss and caused them to be closed for 2 years with remodeling. When they reopened, it just did not feel the same. Concrete floors and hard, uncomfortable seats. The food was still good but it didn't feel the same. We just didn't go back. Then, new ownership so we tried it out again and were unimpressed, as it still didn't have the cozy feel we had come to love in the past. Then that guy abruptly sold out, so we decided to give the next version a try. Well, it's not *quite* what it used to be, but it's definitely worth a return visit and we will be going back. Service was extremely good. The garlic rolls were just like they used to be. House salad dressing also the same. My chicken cacciatore could have used less pasta and more chicken and veggies, but the flavor was good. The portion was also huge, easily twice as much as it used to be, which to me is not really an advantage. The prices are much higher also, which I understand due to inflation to a point, but I really think they could cut the portions by a lot and also the prices, and everyone would benefit and have less waste. I want to try one of their baked pastas next time or perhaps a pizza. I really hope we continue to enjoy it since we have missed our old standby. They are still BYOB which is one of the great things about them. read more

I'm all about supporting local business and this was one that popped up. It had decent reviews so we decided to give them a try. It's was around noon so we didn't know what to expect as far as crowd but surprisingly the restaurant was empty. A very nice gentleman sat us down and brought us some water. We ordered our food- which took forever! Especially since no one other than us were there. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and my guest had the lasagna. My Alfredo was a sloppy wet mess- not exactly like what you see in some of the pictures, plus it lacked flavor- like salt or garlic- totally skip it!! My guests dish tasted better but was wet inside so I could tell it was from frozen, probably the resin it took so damn long. Also, the house made dressing for the salad does in fact taste like ketchup. We ordered a pizza to go for our son and it was decent but nothing really to write about. I'd really hope they survive as they are new owners but in order to do that they will desperately need a recipe overhaul. The service was great, very attentive and it is a family owned local business. The food is all made from scratch, my family and I loved it. We had the mozzarella sticks and the marinara was very good. The pizza was very good as well with a slight crunch to the crust. This neighborhood staple had long been a curiosity for me over the last 6 years I have lived in the area. When I finally mustered up the courage to try it - it shut down. Later, it reemerged. Now, during the shutdown, we decided to give it a shot with its newly implemented food delivery. The pizza we ordered was the stuff of legend. We have tried the Margherita and the Florentine, as well as some custom pizzas. For starters we have tried the mozzarella sticks and a salad. The mozzarella sticks are legion, and the quality is superb. Tasty breading with zero grease and all the flavor as well as that house-made dipping sauce - excellent. The pizzas - they are all of the highest quality. The toppings go from edge to edge, hemisphere to hemisphere. Let my pictures do the talking. Flavorwise -excellent. Texture of the crust - pinnacle. The thing that sets this place apart- is the service hands down!! We come here every year for a girls gathering. They are patient, don't rush us and take excellent care of all of us! The spaghetti and meatballs are delicious! Love the garlic knots and cheese bread with a side salad and traditional red Italian dressing. Had a nice dinner at Amore's. Love that this spot is BYOB so we took a good bottle of wine in with us to enjoy. Very friendly folks and service, you can tell they value your business. I had the Capellini Gamberretti which is shrimp with garlic and basil tomato sauce and angel hair pasta. It was good, would have preferred a couple more shrimp but wasn't so few that I felt cheated by any means. My wife and I have dined at Amore's many times over the years until the management changed and the food quality went downhill. We heard that there were new owners and the original chef had returned, so we decided to give it a try. This was our experience: It is 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. The cook in the back motions for us to take any seat. We are the only diners. Our server, Lesa, emerges the kitchen a little while later, displeased that we have seated ourselves. We are treated like intruders. Placing an order is an ordeal. My wife requests lemon for her iced tea. Lesa acts put out since it necessitates another trip to the kitchen. When she returns she says, "Do you think you have everything you need now?" The house dressing has a very strong taste and is inedible. Lesa insists it is the original recipe and there is nothing wrong with it. It may have been the original recipe, but it was not made like the original recipe. My wife's cheese ravioli tastes very salty. In the meantime, we can hear Lesa ranting about us to the cook in the kitchen. My wife got up to tell Lesa it was not a good idea to complain about customers when they can hear her. At this point, I requested a to go box and check, so that we could escape this abuse. I haven't been here in 20 years. Seriously, last time I was here my best friends worked as waitresses. This weekend we came off the lake starving for food and I remembered this place, checked the reviews which were decent and decided to give it a try with 3 hungry boys and 2 hungry men. The rolls were delicious and worth coming just for that. It was perfect because we were starving and needed that immediate food. We all ordered dishes. 2 kids and 3 adult dishes which consisted of shrimp fettuccine, baked ziti, cannenoli and spaghetti with meatball. Our dishes came out together and one of the kids portions came out as an adult portion. Without question, the waiter said no problem- he would take care of it. So we only paid kid portion price. The food was very good! The shrimp in my fettuccine was super fresh and plump- deveined. Everyone else loved their food as well. We will definitely come back. The restaurant has changed significantly since the last time I was there. It's BYOB- so be prepared for that. The place is more formal but still has a casual vibe. Absolutely love this place! I tried this place because I kept hearing about how great it is across various local Facebook groups and it lived up to the hype! The food is great, you can taste that it is fresh and gives "homemade" vibes. The staff and service is also great. This has become one of my go to places for taking friends when they come to town. Very disappointing since the place is now under new ownership. I was assured that they have the same cooks as before, but the new management doesn't seem to know how to operate a restaurant. But I would think that if they are still using the same cooks, then the cooks should know how the place was run before, and could help out the management, in order to keep their customer base and provide the same good Italian food that they used to have. I've been there 3 times in the past couple months, and had issues on all 3 occasions.
