Writing a review to express my immense gratitude to the staff in this store. I was idling my car (SUV AWD) in the alley way across the street, right by the Ukrainian Embassy. Totally inexperienced with ice and snow, I thought it would be ok. Ended up getting stuck there - tried hacking at the ice under the tires to get some traction for 30 minutes but still couldn't make it up the hill. Google search said putting some sand / salt / cat litter under the tires could help and I walked into Amorino hoping to get some salt and try that. The 2 staff who were in there were glad to help, I got about 4 cups of salt from them and spread it under the front tires, and was finally freed from my predicament. THANK YOU so much! Definitely will come back and get gelato with my friends when it gets warm. read more

It's an international brand, and I've tried it elsewhere and enjoyed it. The Georgetown location is a conversion of a old running store. It's kind of on the edge of the stretch, not the highest foot traffic area, but definitely one of the worst car traffic spots. They have a set of ordering kiosks, and will call you out when they're ready for your order, including the selection of flavors. I got a crepe with gelato; although it said two flavors were included they offered me three small scoops for some reason, which still wasn't a ton. Honestly just getting the basic gelato in a cone with or without a chocolate or a macaron is better. The location has two floors, and you won't hear the honking so much upstairs. Service left something to be desired; I don't begrudge anyone who works for a living but it was not as high-caliber of an experience as I've had at other Amorinos. It also matters that this isn't the best ice cream in DC or even in Georgetown, and we have local gelato as well. read more

I absolutely love Amorino! I came in with a friend after lunch and we decided to try the flower gelato and a pistachio crepe. The gelato was phenomenal - smooth, creamy, and a variety of flavors to choose from. I went with a chocolate-hazelnut-pistachio mix and it was delicious. The crepe was so savory! If you love the Dubai chocolate craze, you will be a huge fan of the pistachio crepe. Full of flavor with plenty of chocolate to compliment the soft crepe and nutty glaze. The service was speedy and very helpful! The ambiance of the store is clean and has a decent amount of seating upstairs and downstairs given the storefront's size. I can see how this will be a fantastic spot in the warmer months (I believe they even have some outdoor seating!). Worth the visit! read more

Me and my bestie went here last week on Wednesday and this was such a nice find. I don't know where we were gonna go before for a sweet treat, but this was such a treasure! When I asked to sample that tiramisu, I was in heaven! The person serving us was so nice and enthusiastic with her new position, she made our day so positive! Then when we saw what she was creating, wow!! Patience and very creative. The ambiance downstairs and upstairs is very welcoming, I could see games upstairs and if you wanted to do work you could! Came during their opening deal where they were offering free gelato flowers and it was so great. The flavors are diverse and there is a good variety for non-dairy options, very inclusive customer profile in mind. The seating is pretty vast, there are about two stories to this location and its spacious for an ice cream shop! The gelato we had was creamy and flavorful. Particular recommendation would be their mango flavor, it was sweet enough with some tartness and a bright juicy mango flavor that had a velvety texture. I saw a post on Instagram promoting free gelato at Amori Georgetown, so of course I had to check it out. I mean, who doesn't want free gelato? It was a really hot day, and the place was packed when we arrived, which felt a bit overwhelming. It wasn't clear where to go since some people were ordering at the kiosks while others were lined up at the counter. I wanted to ask about the promotion, but none of the staff seemed available or willing to help. Eventually, one employee noticed the confusion and told us to place our order at the kiosk. After ordering, I asked about the free gelato and found out you needed to post a photo of the shop on social media before ordering to get the deal. Unfortunately, I had already paid by then, so I ended up with two frozen treats instead of one. As for the flavors, we only tried the fruit ones: passion fruit, lemon, and lime-basil. I believe those might have been more like sorbet than gelato. The flavors were bold, sweet, and tangy. Personally, they were a bit too sweet for me, but if you enjoy bright, fruity flavors, you'll probably like them. There's a small seating area inside, but it was completely full, so we walked around M Street instead. Overall, the experience could have been better with more organization and clearer signage about the promotion. I did really appreciate that they offered a gluten free cone. It came wrapped in plastic to avoid cross-contamination and actually tasted pretty good. I'd probably come back to try some of their actual gelato flavors next time. read more

A new gelato shop has opened in Georgetown! I got free gelato during their opening month promotion (from the store signs that included instructions and their social media), so I got the pistachio and yogurt. I'm not a big sweets person so the flavors were not too sweet (just like how I like it). I enjoyed the pistachio the best. read more

What an adorable little dessert shop. We tried the strawberry, caramel, blueberry cheesecake and vanilla with chocolate chips. The caramel tasted exactly like candy. This was definitely my favorite followed by the tart blueberry cheesecake. I will definitely return when I have time to enjoy the cafe tables. read more

Came during opening week where I tried a selection of their gelato for free. It was absolutely delicious, fresh, and so smooth! I got their hazelnut (amazing) and their pear. The display of The product is well done. The gelatos invite to be tasted. In general, the gelatos are very good a bit sweet but good. The place has two employees who are kind and try to make this beautiful rose in the cone to make it look beautiful. Clients are asked to place the order in the ipads and wait to be call by her/ his name. This process takes about 20 minutes. It is quite slow. A very good gelato addition to Georgetown, especially the starbucks across from the street is gone (not that Starbucks has gelatos but it's one of the few places in georgetown for indoor sitting and reading, etc.) Love the second floor with an extension to a cute balcony. Service was a bit slow since it was only one staff member working behind the counter. read more

The portions improved! They were tiny at first, and the sample tastes were skimpy, but something changed and they got more generous with the scoops and tastings. Also, the staff got nicer. I didn't write it in my review the last time, but the people in the shop in the very beginning were aloof. This time there was a super-nice guy who was friendly and warm, and he spoke Spanish with the friend I was visiting with. I tried the orange hot chocolate and fell in love with it! We sat at a table, and my European friend told me that Amorino is famous there. read more
