Banana Pudding & Salted Carmel Ice Cream
Eliza O.

Jubilee has very good banana pudding ice cream! If you enjoy banana flavor, then definitely get this ice cream when in Georgetown! Overall the shop was tiny but cute inside. Service was good for one person working there during a rush.

bold vanilla with cinnamon donuts

good ice cream good cone and they gave me a free donut. The donuts were soft and tasty but not warm

The staff here is really nice, and it's a very cute location, but every single time I go to Ice Cream Jubilee in DC (here or in Navy Yard) I get served freezer burnt ice cream. Their flavors can be interesting (especially the seasonal ones like red bean, which I really enjoy), but it's so hard to get over the iciness and unpleasant texture. I like that they're a local spot and creative, but I wish the quality was there alongside the concept. Great portions, great service, great variety of flavors; just not very well-made ice cream.

The staff was super friendly with our large group and super accommodating with all of the samples we wanted to try. However, some of those flavors that were on the board, were not available so that was a little bit of a bummer. When we first walked in with our large group, they said it was BOGO (buy one get one free, single or a double scoop). Since we had a large group, we were excited and thought we would be getting a great deal. Once everyone got their scoops, we were ready to check out, but they were only able to apply one discount to our entire transaction (of about 10 ice creams) so we still basically paid full price. The cashier seemed a little bit flustered on what was happening. The ice cream wasn't anything crazy it was basic and great on a very hot day. It's super conveniently located in Georgetown so it is a great place to stop by while you're shopping or after. There isn't any seating so make sure you eat quick because it melts fast!

This was the last food spot we visited before heading to the airport. We were allowed 2-3 samples and I asked if I could do two flavors and they said no, so I went with the Marionberry. After halfway through my scoop, it started getting too sweet. I saw other family members getting different flavors, so it was strange that I could only get one.

Super great ice cream place! The worker who helped us was super nice and recommend our ice cream combos. Flavor was super great too. We went before it got busy so it was quick and easy. Our total for what was pictured was $20 so be mindful of price but a super solid ice cream place to enjoy

This is probably the main ice cream place in Georgetown. The place itself is small, it's mostly a grab and go. There is limited seating outside because it's usually constantly busy. When we first went inside, there was barely anyone there then when it was time for us to pay, it suddenly became packed. The employee was very friendly. I tried a couple samples and ultimately went with 3 scoops. I was content with the flavors I got. Price is slightly expensive but since there's no real competition in the area, it's nothing you can really do. If you're visiting Georgetown, I would recommend you give it a try. Quality is not terrible and inedible.

Blueberry Crisp

Came here around noon on a Sunday right when it opened. Parking can be a bit tough around this area but we managed to find street parking a few blocks down in the residential area. This spot is located on a busy strip of businesses in Georgetown so lots of foot traffic especially on the weekend. Luckily we didn't have to wait too long because we were probably the first customers of the day. I decided to get one of the seasonal flavors - the blueberry crisp. Super delicious flavor of vanilla/blueberry with hints of cinnamon! The texture was just right too, not having to worry about eating it super fast in the heat was convenient. I would definitely come back to try more of the seasonal flavors.

Great non-dairy banana soft serve, but not worth $7
Vijay N.

The concept of the banana, soft, serve nondairy ice cream is just genius! You get all of the texture you might expect, along with excellent flavor companions like chocolate and peanut butter that go perfectly with banana in a very refreshing and somewhat healthier package. However, as others have commented, the pricing for these ice cream cones seems exorbitant! If you look at the size of the swirl and compare it to the seven dollar price tag, it somehow does not seem commensurate. the service was very friendly and the storefront is small and cute. For those who are seeking a nice nondairy treat, I would definitely recommend this shop! However, I hope that the owners and management takes some of the feedback, and either adjust the pricing or the portions to bring them into better alignment.

I was very excited to try Ice Cream Jubilee after the warm weather finally started to hit. I'm a big ice cream fan, and some of these flavors really rocked! I especially liked the s'mores. The service was a little strange--maybe this was their first busy weekend of the year, but the cashier taking our order seemed exasperated. We were happy to wait and didn't want to cause any problems of course! The food was good but not quite what I had wanted. I ordered the five flavor flight and was instead served only four flavors that were already preselected. I was a little bummed, but since the cashier seemed so exasperated, I didn't want to add to his workload or make him angry. For the price, I don't think I would necessarily come back because of the experience.

Toasted S'mores seasonal flavor
Calder S.

I visited last week and got the Toasted S'mores seasonal flavor. The ice cream was icy tasting, like it had freezer burn. It also didn't capture the flavor of s'mores -- there was too much graham cracker and not enough chocolate. In theory, I give Ice Cream Jubilee credit for getting a lot of graham cracker in the ice cream -- which is where a lot of s'mores ice creams struggle -- but they didn't balance out the flavors correctly. This is obvious from the photo -- you can see barely any chocolate -- and is also obvious from tasting, so this flavor shouldn't have made it past quality control. For the prices they charge, both mistakes are inexcusable. I've also had Ice Cream Jubilee a few other times at both the 14th St and Navy Yard locations. It is fine but overpriced and overhyped.

Strawberry hibiscus sorbet

Truly worthy of being a D.C. favorite! Ice Cream Jubilee offers a wide variety of delicious flavors, spanning expertly crafted classics and a series of fun, creative new varieties. There are a few consistent favorites that are always on the menu, as well as a seasonal menu that rotates in and out, meaning that I know that I'll be able to find something I love every time I visit, but I also have a lot of opportunities to try something fun and new. I also appreciate that they offer multiple vegan options, unlike most ice cream shops that will just have one very generic sorbet. They also clearly label which flavors are vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, as well as a series of other key dietary restrictions, which I really appreciated, since I've often found that I have to ask the staff and just generally hold up the line or feel like a burden to figure out that information. I tried out their seasonal strawberry hibiscus and it was absolutely incredible -- so light and refreshing, with the taste of summer exploding across my tastebuds. It also wasn't overwhelmingly sweet in the way sorbets sometimes can be. All around amazing shop, and I cannot wait to visit again to try out the next new seasonal flavors!

They have a great list of unique rotating flavors, and it's always fun to come back to try out their new seasonal releases. A few of my favorites over the years have been their hibiscus sorbet -- a delightful dairy-free addition to their Hispanic Heritage Month flavors that is the perfect balance of tangy and sweet -- the cinnamon cardamom -- a super spiced ice cream that, despite being freezing cold, feels like you're about to drink a warm beverage -- and blueberry sour cream crumble. When I'm feeling less adventurous, they also have a really solid strawberry ice cream that uses real berries (none of that artificial nonsense you see in grocery stores) with a delightful fruity, slightly tangy flavor. There's usually a pretty long line, but it moves quite quickly since they don't allow samples. It's also a small space that gets crowded pretty easily, so I'd recommend taking your ice cream to go and enjoying it as you walk around Mt Pleasant or on the benches just below the entrance to Mount Desert.

Unfortunately, they had a sign posted saying they weren't offering samples, which was a bit of a bummer since I wanted to try some of the more unusual flavors before deciding. I ended up getting a single cup with two flavors: Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee. Both were delicious and had strong, authentic flavor profiles without being overly sweet. Service was quick, and while there is some seating inside, it's fairly limited. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would come back to try some of their other creative flavors. My only real complaint is the no-samples policy, especially with so many unique options on the menu.

I've tried other DDL lattes from other coffee shops around the city and this one is by far the best. It's good hot and iced. The seasonal strawberry matcha is also very good. This place is great for the seasonal drinks and gelato flavors using local ingredients. My absolute favorite seasonal flavor is the Blackberries and Cream gelato. I ate it so much last summer that I could see the color of the gelato get darker as the season progressed and as the berries reached their peak. I got a few hand packed pints to keep in the freezer but they didn't last long. The mascarpone & berries is my favorite classic flavor. I've been to every Dolcezza location in DC and my favorite is the DuPont location. The baristas are chill and somehow their drinks taste better than the other locations. Not sure how that's possible but I notice a difference. I think it has something to do with how the drink order is entered at the register. At another location, I noticed my DDL latte was entered as a latte with DDL syrup and it was noticeably off. Not sweet at all. When I asked the barista he said there was no DDL button but at DuPont the drink is perfect every time. I'm not usually focused on nitpicking but if I'm paying $10 for a coffee, I expect the taste to be consistent regardless of location. Back to DuPont. This location has decent seating but definitely isn't appropriate for longer study sessions during busy times. There's a large communal table and bar style seating along the front window that is great for people watching (or construction watching). It's conveniently located, about a 10 minute walk away from the DuPont metro. Is Dolcezza expensive? Yes. Will I continue to use my discretionary income on $10 coffee and gelato. The Ice Cream As a Wisconsinite, I am a bit of an ice cream and custard snob being from the dairy state! While it doesn't quite match up to Wisconsin's Custard (IYKYK), I will say it was good ice cream and definitely tasted better than some I've had in other states. This made the spontaneous stop worth it. They offer several fantastic flavors of hand dipped ice cream. I ordered the salted caramel in a cake cone. The ice cream was really good. It was rich and flavorful. Not too salty either. It is wonderful to find a great local spot while traveling as I always love supporting small businesses. Here you go asking me again, will I return? I stepped inside, heard some great R&B jams playing, and I made my way to work that amazing smell was coming from. Along the way, I passed some cute merch -- insulated bags and more. And then there was a freezer with all of their pints, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cakes. I got up to where the scoops are being served, and there was a very helpful sign next to it with all of the descriptions. I appreciate it the thorough breakdown of what has allergens, what has dairy, and what is vegan. I pretty much tried everything. My favorites were the vegan ones (spiced peanut crunch, tamarind spice), the spiced date cake, saffron pistachio, mangos & cream, black forest... I could keep going. I split a generous scoop of the spiced date cake & saffron pistachio and it was divine. I could've gotten some cool toppings too, but decided not to. It was $8 as is XD. It's definitely a splurge, but a unique flavor profile like this I think it's totally worth it. The pints are $12, which also isn't bad for something this unique imo. I'll be back to get some pints.
