Had a last minute birthday arrangement to pick up. For some reason other florists in Frederick are not open on Monday's bar one that closes early. You'd think after a whole weekend to annoy their wives,husbands would flock to the florist to buy a dirty for being a man arrangement of flowers. Seemingly the Frederick florists don't want to meet that gap in the market. This place does! Thought it was solely a bunch of roses that I was after. I was met friendly, they offered solutions and didn't really overcharge me even though it was without notice. Few places are genuinely friendly, maybe they are good actors. But I felt welcomed and that they cared. I may not buy flowers often, but when I do I will gladly give this place my custom. read more

Pierre at Amour Flowers was very helpful. The process to order was very easy which was online. Then when I picked up the flowers, Pierre stated I could do curbside pick up and to just call the store. He was wonderful and friendly and made it very easy to pick up a bouquet of fresh tulips for my mom's birthday. It's during tough times that the good people/companies REALLY shine. COVID can kick rocks because we've had to reschedule and now cancel our wedding. I called Amour Flowers to let them know we're canceling our wedding and I was ready to forego our deposit (side note: we're fighting with our wedding venue to get refund-- PM if you're looking in the area and I'll steer you clear of that one). Instead, Toni (sp?), who answered the phone, was understanding and said they will be issuing a refund. Back in March when I finally decided I had procrastinated enough on flowers for an April wedding, we worked with Mike. Like others have said in their reviews, Mike is a pleasure to work with. He is straight-forward and asks all the right questions to understand the look we want to achieve. He accommodated my request to get a demo of his vision at 50% of the cost. I brought in one of the blue & white Maryland tobacco jars on a Sunday afternoon and he pulled everything together beautifully. We learned about how he got started in the flower business and his passion for his work shows. Let me start by saying, when it comes to ordering flowers, I expect exactly what I order as I put a lot of thought and feeling into the flowers that I send. My sister is in Rehab due to having a mild stroke. I was searching for a nice arrangement for her to pick up her spirits. I ordered the All Is Bright FTD Bouquet (Best Size) because it was primarily made of carnations, which is my sister's favorite flower and they last a bit longer. I was excited for her to receive the flowers as I know it would have made her day upon her arrival at the Rehabilitation Center. Everything was great until I received a picture of what was sent. To my disappointment, the arrangement looked nothing like what I had ordered. And I mean nothing! When I called to express my disappointment on what was delivered, the options given to me by the manager was either to have them make another arrangement that did not look like what I ordered and swap it out with the one already delivered or get a credit on my next order. I did let him know that I would never use their service again. Which for some reason seemed to surprise him. I am from the belief that if I order something, that is what I expect to get. I completely understand that on occasion, flowers may need to be substituted, but if the entire arrangement is going to be different, call the customer and let them know so that something else can be ordered or the order can be cancelled. Also, if you are going to publish a Satisfaction Guarantee, then you need to follow it. Never will I use this florist again! read more

Not happy, we ordered a floral arrangement for our daughter's birthday and are really disappointed with what they delivered. We made our choice based on the photograph on their website, we even upgrade our order to the deluxe arrangement. What they delivered looks nothing like what they showed and it certainly doesn't look like it's worth $70.00 This really felt like a bait and switch. When I contacted the seller was told that Teleflora pushes the flowers to the front, BS and credited me $20. Anyway, for more than $100 dollars I expected better. Placed an order to be delivered on Valentines day, however the flowers were delivered today, a day early. This messed up all of my plans that were set for Valentinesday....TOMOROW. I called to see whats the deal was and they put the full blame on the driver. Initially They offered to deliver next day (Valentines Day) a dozen roses thats half value of what I originally ordered, which was not cheap mind you, and I took that as an insult and horrible customer service. Worst customer service I have ever encountered... EVER. First my fiancé and I arrive to the store and the only employee is on the phone, and once she sees us, she walks to the back room of the store to continue her conversation. While in the back room the employee's conversation became extremely heated and she began yelling at the top of her lungs at the person on the other end of the phone. We waited patiently, thinking the conversation would soon end. We are only here (in MD) for a few days, as we are from CO but are having a wedding here in a few months. We wanted some brief information on this particular florist because the reviews seemed good. However, after several minutes and continued yelling, we decided to come back later. The second time around, she was again, on the phone and obviously still arguing with this person. We sat down and began looking through floral books. After a few more minutes she finally got off the phone and approached us. She asked what we needed and we explained to her that we were having a wedding here in Fredrick and would like some information about the shop. She then began to tell us that it was by appointment only and then walked away. Which, we do understand, however, we were the only ones in the shop and just simply wanted some basic information. Her time would have only been needed for a matter of 5 minutes and that was obviously too long for her. We left and will absolutely never return. I second Hannah's glowing review. I chose Amour for my wedding in August 2010. I had a consultation with Pierre in June and he was spectacular. I brought a photo of a bouquet that I liked, a photo of my gown, and a TIGHT budget. He was able to capture the essence of what I wanted by using more reasonably priced, but no less beautiful flowers. It seems as though Pierre was able to figure out what I wanted even though I hadn't really defined it for myself yet - he knew exactly what to ask to gauge my aesthetic. They prepared gorgeous cascading bouquets, a floral hairpiece for me, wrist corsages for the moms, and pinned corsages for the gents - we received tons of compliments on all of them. Better yet, the flowers were waiting for us at the salon that morning. The entire experience was effortless. One note for the vendor - the plastic handle for my bouquet wasn't properly attached so it was difficult to hold. Even this doesn't drop them down to 4 stars though! Posting this review for my parents, they always order from Amour. My parents send us flowers for every occasion, birthdays, anniversaries, festivals, etc. they always use Amour. My parents live in India, Amour goes out of their way to ensure that the flowers that they send look exactly like, if not better than the reference picture. The lilies and roses are always fresh, the message is never misspelled (it is tough with all the different spellings), and the flowers are always delivered with care. They even call to let you know they are coming or they dropped off flowers. Really good, professional people that have never once made my parents regret making an international order. Recent mother's day experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth with this business. My mother's $150 flower arrangement started to die in less than 24 hours. After calling the business the owner promptly made it right and delivered a fresh arrangement the following Tuesday. The wait for the Tuesday time frame was in regards to new "Fresh" flowers being delivered. My mom promptly received a new arrangement Tuesday and and all was good. Unfortunately 2 days later and the new arrangement is completely drooping and basically dead. My step-sisters flower arrangement is still perfect at 5 days counting. I'm not sure exactly where this company sources its flowers but I can no longer recommend them. To make matters worse this is the second year in a row where they have had to provide "replacement" flowers for my mother on mothers day. Time to move on to another florist and would recommend staying clear from this florist until they find a better supplier. read more

PROs: flowers DID get there on time. Owner is great at explaining away why their flowers are embarrassing (read on!) CONs: flowers were NOT as advertised. Never thought I'd be Yelping on my experience with a funeral but I guess it's 2011! My father-in-law recently passed and I needed to find a florist local in his hometown in Maryland. Unfamiliar with the area, I found Amour's through a referral from the local florist that caters toward the Chinese crowd (was too busy to take our order). With only 24 hours to lock down a florist, I went on that recommendation after a call with the owner (Pierre), who I liked because he sounded like a passionate business owner who would give a darn. We went to their store and put in an order for almost $1,400 in flowers. I also had my friends and family order through them which brought the total bill up to over $2,000, easily. The day of the funeral is here and the unanimous response to the flower presentation was completely underwhelming. In the Chinese culture, the immediate family of the deceased is tasked with ordering the largest flowers in the room. The arrangements we selected ran about $200 a piece, but were out-shined by cheaper or equally prices arrangements from pretty much every other florist. The $200 main sprays were shown in the Telefora catalog with big flowers and plump roses. Our flowers were just plain sad. The occasional rose here and their but mainly filled with carnations. I call the owner directly to try and resolve the situation. I conveyed to him that the family was "under-whelmed" with the final product. I told him that we spent the past 30 minutes re-arranging the room so we could hide or de-emphasize the flowers we received from his store. His response (excuses) almost gave me a heart attack. They were as follows, "the flowers are too fresh - that's why they are not filling in the arrangements, they need time to bloom," "you constrained us by telling us which arrangements you wanted," "you and your family is emotional and that's why you think my flowers are bad," "I personally hand delivered these flowers and the people at the funeral home were telling me how wonderful they looked." To these reasons (excuses), I should have responded (but I didn't), respectively, "I don't care, put more flowers in there," "I don't care, put more flowers in there" (again), "next time don't rip off people mourning a death", " and "last time I checked, I'm the one cutting the check, not the funeral home." So to wrap up. It's hard to envision having a worse week than your father-in-law passing away, but rest assured, getting ripped off by a stingy florist AND having your father-in-law passing away is truly the cherry on top. I would give Amour Flowers more than 5 stars if I could!. I called and spoke to Pierre who was such a wonderful man, to help me order some flowers for a funeral. I had chosen an arrangement on his website that was absolutely beautiful but my Dad wanted different colors so he was so kind to change the colors and and add the different color flowers to make it just as gorgeous as the arrangement I initially chose. I also asked him if he could make it a lot larger so it would stand out so my Dad would be able to see it since he is 86 years old. Pierre was able to do this with less than 24 hours since the funeral arrangements were only announced the morning I called and needed to be delivered by 2:00 pm the following afternoon.
