From my experience and those of others, some feedbacks about the service they had received from practitioners have not been complimentary. The reasons are varied. Thus, when I was received at CONNECT HEARING, Sharon at reception, and Tiffany, the audiologist, exceeded my expectations. They are very professional, receptive, and very friendly. Never in a moment did I feel uncomfortable or obliging. I say this because others with diplomas and certificates hanging in their offices made me feel like I was "taking too much of their time". "Helping patients resolve their problems to their great satisfaction" is the objective of those who are truly professionals. And this is what Tiffany at CONNECT HEARING amply represents. The hearing test she conducted was very thorough. She explained the steps she took to program the HAs. Most of all, she made sure that my HAs effectively resolve my hearing deficiency by recommending a trial period and booked a return appointment for proper adjustment if necessary. Properly configured and programmed, my Phonak marvels work like a charm. This approach to her profession convinced me that she is very accomplished. She speaks English, a Chinese language(not sure if Cantonese or Mandarin), medical jargon, & just regular folks (She answered my questions in either jargon or human, whichever I wanted) The initial hearing test is free! What you'll pay for hearing aids depends on style & your insurance coverage; mine were $4K full price, but I paid $0.00, including three years full warranty; free battery replacements when needed, & one complete replacement, if I lose them or they're destroyed. Quality product, quality people I'm in a wheelchair, so accommodations had to be made, & the staff were great. The first person you'll meet is Sharon at te front desk; SOO nice! She'll answer questions, too, but, of course, will direct technical questions to the hearing professionals on staff. Parking in front & back (main building entrance in front, but accessible from back; wheelchair uses need to park in back & wheel around the building, & up a gentle ramp to get in.); I came by 401 bus, which dropped me right on the corner after a 1.5 minute ride from Brighouse Station. Honestly, I'd consider trveling here from other Metro Vancouver cities -- they're that good! My hearing aids fit & work beautifully (& are completely discreet--nobody's noticed them yet!); they're small enough I can put my Bluetooth earpiece on over top no problem. .

The facility was "shiny new" in appearance for my appointment -- exceptionally bright, neat, and clean. I was quickly processed, and within a few minutes was inside one of the inner offices to see the RHIP (Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner). She explained - in a very cordial and professional manner - what the testing would encompass. The testing was conducted in her office, and within an adjacent soundproof room. And when completed, I was shown graphical results, and explained what they meant re: my hearing. She then volunteered to forward results of my tests to the doctors seeking this information. I went here and thought they were professional. I was thoroughly tested on the latest equipment by the Doctor of Audiology. DOA's are trained to test for "diminished hearing and provide hearing aids" according to another website. I was told I couldn't hear in a crowded noisy room, but I have never been able to do that. I was told I had a hearing loss due to disease or familial genetics, which was a surprise to me. Connect Hearing couldn't say what the problem might be and there is no family history. It was suggested I buy hearing aids at $2,000. I decided to talk to my GP instead, because if I had a disease, I wanted to know about it. I requested my GP to send me to a local Otolaryngologist ENT Specialist. The specialist checked my hearing, his assistant did a quick audio test, everything was fine. The Dr. said that no one hears well in a crowded, noisy room. I asked, "So, Connect Hearing just wanted to sell hearing aids?" He nodded. So, go to an ENT specialist and get re-checked before handing over your hard earned money to a DOA!
