She was so cheerful she made my day! Absolutely love this coffee shop. And their cookies are the bomb, especially the chocolate chip is to die for. Thank you so much for your warm welcome today! First time here. Came with a friend to get a beverage and pastry. It was mid-morning on a Monday,…read moreand the place was just starting to get busy. Food: They have an extensive offering of coffees, lattes, teas, and other specialty drinks. You can also get breakfast or lunch sandwiches, soups, and salads. They didn't have a London Fog Tea Latte on the menu, but they were happy to make me one, in a mug, with whole milk, lavender, and vanilla. They took enough time to properly steep the Earl Grey tea bag and added a good amount of frothed milk. It was flavorful and at just the right temperature, 140°F. Good job! They make all their own bakery items, and everything in the case at the counter looked freshly baked. I ended up getting an amazing-looking blueberry scone. It had a great texture, with a nice glaze on top. It would have been even better if it had been warmed up. They didn't offer, and I never asked. (Next time.) It was a perfect companion to the London Fog. Service: The place was starting to get busy, but we never felt like we were being rushed through the ordering process. Both people behind the counter were genuinely friendly and helpful. After placing your order, you get an electronic buzzer that lets you know when your order is ready. The food was done before the drinks, so we ended up going down a couple of times. A single buzz when the entire order was ready would have been fine. Atmosphere: The place has either a window from the sidewalk where you can order, or you can walk inside to order. There are a few tables in the same area where you order, or you can choose from additional seating in a room down the hall, upstairs, or take it outside. Lots of options. We decided on upstairs, which was a bit quieter. They have games that you can play at your table, which we saw people taking advantage of. The place was clean, well organized, and had a nice, relaxed feel to it. Would enjoy coming back again.

Everyone appears to love it at Hollander Chocolate, including one of my older friends. But I can't say I feel the same. When I finally got a chance to eat there, I ordered a chocolate croissant and an iced white-chocolate matcha latte. While I waited upstairs, I was impressed by the fancy and professional decor of the cafe. There was even a secret entrance I watched someone walk through. The wait wasn't too long, and when I received my croissant, the pastry was good to average: just what someone would expect from an innocent chocolate croissant. However, my drink was certainly a different story. It took me the entire afternoon to fully complete my experience of the latte. I admit that I am somewhat of a slow drinker, but this wasn't a speed preference. While I appreciated the modern and curved shape of the plastic, the liquid inside was almost sickeningly sweet. I tasted virtually no coffee, and the fluid was entirely green. I'm not exactly complaining about the color, but I am pointing out how thick it was with flavoring. Despite my latte's green color, I tasted heavily more white chocolate than matcha. The drink's taste resembled liquified sugar. By the time I at last finished it, my body felt numb and tired from the overwhelming amount of sweetness. I also lost my appetite for dinner. As you may presume, I am not coming back here unless the other cafes nearby close.

You could reasonably get into a book here or get some work done if you wanted to. The outdoor space is excellent. It's shared with Sahale next door but there's tons of seating and you'll always see families hanging around, especially during events. I had a Mint-Vanilla Au Lait (seasonal) and it was nice and drinkable. The mint was more of a scent than a flavor, so the iced beverage hit the spot on this hot summer morning! I prefer this Fiddleheads to the local Colectivo and they're about 2 blocks apart. Go here if you want a quick coffee.

My mom ordered a latte and the coffee itself has a sour taste which I've heard from others too! It was a $7 latte and she ended up tossing it. All of their flavored syrups are the Monin brand so nothing homemade and very artificial tasting. I ordered a bagel and it was $5, and it came with a Jif PB packet and Smuckers jelly. I wish they would at least have homemade jam or a peanut butter that doesn't have terrible fillers and oil in its product. I then asked for cream cheese and it also came in a packet. The bagel ended up being hard after 20 minutes and I had to toss. The prices are so overpriced for the quality.

Food: I checked online before coming, and they have an impressive list of drinks, both hot and cold. We ordered a couple of lattes. Mine was a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla) in a mug, and hers was a Coffee Vanilla Latte with almond milk. They did a great job with both of them. My London Fog had great flavor, well-textured foam, and was a good temperature. They did leave the tea bag in, which might be their standard practice, but I prefer the tea to be fully steeped and then have the bag removed. Otherwise, removing the bag later messes with all the wonderful foam (next time I would ask). Each of us got a scone. Mine was blueberry, and hers was white chocolate raspberry, warmed up and plated. Both were very good. If I had to be completely honest, these scones are more like muffins than traditional scones. However, they were both delicious. Service: As soon as we walked up to the counter, it was nothing but friendly vibes and helpful service. They stepped us through the details of the order ("whole milk okay, how much flavor, etc."). They didn't rush the orders and took their time getting them right. When the bakery items were heated up, they brought them to our table. I always got the feeling that they truly appreciated us being there. Atmosphere: The building is a quaint, wonderfully maintained historic brick building. There are café tables outside that would be great on a warmer day. When you enter, you are taken back in time. The vibe is authentic and relaxed. Much of the interior looks like it may be from long ago. It's a bit cluttered, which could be distracting, but I think it fits. There are enough windows to bring in a good amount of natural light. The counter has a large array of pastries, muffins, cookies, etc. The main area doesn't have a lot of seating, and I did find it a bit loud. There is a separate seating area toward the back with several more tables and much less noise, which is where we sat. A very good first visit. Would definitely come back again.
