Caprese Grilled Cheese sandwich, apple pie pastry and blue berry hibiscus tea.

This is a lovely coffee shop in the little town called Mayville! It's bright and inviting! The baristas were friendly and welcoming! I ordered the Caprese Grilled Cheese sandwich. It was a delicious and gooey panini style mozzarella sandwich served with pickled carrots, string beans, & pickle. Yummy! The apple pie pastry is also delightful. The pastry is flaky and is like a snickerdoodle. My favorite!!! The apple pie willing is delectable too!

We are currently on a quest to experience as many small independently owned coffee shops this summer. The Open Door Coffeehouse was our 3rd coffee shop we've hit so far. Their website mentions that they provide mentoring programs to the community and it piqued our curiosity. Right when you walk in, we were pleasantly surprised by their "Family Resource Hub" which shows their calendar, specials, local programs, and a fun summer bucket list. In addition, there was also a "Pay it Forward" board where community members can purchase items for mutuals or others. This was so cool . . . But how was the food and drink? We are here you to tell you . . . It was good! The food presentation was super cute and their drinks were tasty.

First time here, and wasn't sure what to expect since the pics currently available looked a little less than fantastic. However, they have made some major updates (one of the employees said they have moved locations within the last year, so maybe the pics were all from their old place), and it's quite nice now. I needed a place to work remotely while in Horicon, and this made for a pleasant day's work. Good coffee, friendly employees, great local feel, and they seem to be working towards a good cause!

I always come here to get work done. Great costumer service and as always a homey happy environment!

Great little coffee shop. Lots of seating. Super relaxed and chill in side. Very clean and bright. They have espresso ice cubes which is great for the warm days to not water down your drink. I will be back next time I'm in the area.

Open Door Coffee made for a wonderful pit stop on our way home from an event around Horicon Marsh. Before arriving, I had not realized this was a nonprofit community-run coffeeshop, and I was even more excited to be spending my money here when I discovered this. The space itself is warm and welcoming with amazing coffee from Luna Coffee Roasters to boot. The website for Open Door exudes positivity and community focus. I only wish I lived closer so I could participate in their fantastic programming!

Luna coffee from De Pere, locally produced goods, home made bakery all add welcoming touches to this non-profit coffee shop. We were welcomed by Amber, founder and president of the shop who proved to be a cheerful and friendly hostess. Her bakery and coffee are excellent. Amber is much more than the barista role she plays. This is a welcome addition to Mayville' Main Street offerings.

Adorable! A great place for coffee! Outdoor tables in a quaint town. Nice place to stop before or after the marsh. Open late. Friendly workers too!

Incredible. In a small down town like this to get such good coffee. Had a savory scone as well. We are coming back tomorrow morning.

Pioneer Keg - 1/2 pound grilled cheeseburger with fries (for an upcharge)

I was going to stop at a different restaurant in Lomira for dinner on this particular evening, but…read morethey were unexpectedly closed so I looked at my bookmarks for another option. The Pioneer Keg in Theresa was the closest place that was open in my bookmarks and I knew of at least one menu item I wanted to try, so I pivoted and went there instead. To go, I ordered the brick cheese cheese curds and a 1/2 pound grilled cheeseburger with fries for the side. I opened both containers to take pictures right away and my first reaction was disappointment in how plain and limp the fries looked. To top it off, they were barely salted. This was an upcharge from chips, too, which made me regret paying the extra money. I was excited for the cheese curds, but they also didn't live up to expectations. The breading was, I dare say, chewy with only the very tips where it was dropped into the fryer being crunchy. They ended up being the highlight of the meal, though, which doesn't say much. Other places that sell grilled cheeseburgers have both the top and bottom buns be grilled cheese sandwiches with a burger patty/patties in between the sandwiches. Apparently not at The Pioneer Keg. All "grilled cheeseburger" means to them is the bun should be replaced by pieces of grilled Texas toast. There wasn't a single speck of seasoning or salt on the burger patty and cheddar is not a flavorful cheese to use on a burger, so that was underwhelming to say the least. I give them credit for the meat having a fresh quality to it, but that's not enough to make me want their burgers ever again.

What a great little gem of a bar. Just blocks from Widmer Cheese. We had some delicious bar…read morefood. Their legendary cheese curds were tasty. We also tried the prime rib rolls and pickle chips. Actually I thought the pickle chips were the best I have ever had. Also impressed the had bock beer on tap. We will definitely be back soon.
