First time here. Here with my sister to have a conversation, a hot beverage, and a piece of bakery. Glad we did. Food: I checked online before coming, and they have an impressive list of drinks, both hot and cold. We ordered a couple of lattes. Mine was a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla) in a mug, and hers was a Coffee Vanilla Latte with almond milk. They did a great job with both of them. My London Fog had great flavor, well-textured foam, and was a good temperature. They did leave the tea bag in, which might be their standard practice, but I prefer the tea to be fully steeped and then have the bag removed. Otherwise, removing the bag later messes with all the wonderful foam (next time I would ask). Each of us got a scone. Mine was blueberry, and hers was white chocolate raspberry, warmed up and plated. Both were very good. If I had to be completely honest, these scones are more like muffins than traditional scones. However, they were both delicious. Service: As soon as we walked up to the counter, it was nothing but friendly vibes and helpful service. They stepped us through the details of the order ("whole milk okay, how much flavor, etc."). They didn't rush the orders and took their time getting them right. When the bakery items were heated up, they brought them to our table. I always got the feeling that they truly appreciated us being there. Atmosphere: The building is a quaint, wonderfully maintained historic brick building. There are café tables outside that would be great on a warmer day. When you enter, you are taken back in time. The vibe is authentic and relaxed. Much of the interior looks like it may be from long ago. It's a bit cluttered, which could be distracting, but I think it fits. There are enough windows to bring in a good amount of natural light. The counter has a large array of pastries, muffins, cookies, etc. The main area doesn't have a lot of seating, and I did find it a bit loud. There is a separate seating area toward the back with several more tables and much less noise, which is where we sat. A very good first visit. Would definitely come back again. read more

Java House is a warm and cozy house on the main street of Cederburg. We stopped in on a very cold morning and appreciate the coziness. They have several unique drink options , tea, coffee, dirty sodas and hot chocolate. I had the Cup of Hygge one of their signature drinks. It was a bit too bitter for my taste, but the cinnamon and cardamon was a unique combination. My husband had a turtle mocha and I liked his more than mine. They do have some bakery items, scones, cookies including gluten free options. The cafe is very cute and the staff were very friendly. read more

Hidden gem in cedarburg! I feel like the other coffee shops get all the spotlight, but Java House is the place to be! I had the cup of hygge and it was delicious. So cozy and inviting! Right when I walked in, I noticed rhe warm, worn wood of the floor and framing the windows. Visiting Java House feels like a great big bear hug!!! I'm not sure if it's the adorable vintage building right on Washington Avenue, the caring staff or the incredible beverages - but there is a true feeling of happy all around. The woman and young girl that assisted us were so sweet. The woman was taking photos and seemed truly happy to create beautiful beverages for us and other customers. She showed such enthusiasm that was contagious. I loved being a part of what she was giving. Once we received all of our Moon Milk beverages, I couldn't wait to start sipping. They were so beautiful to look at and knowing they were made with love made them even better. Oh my! The layers of creamy flavors really satisfied. Java House is a must stop when I am in town. Oh, what a true gem this place is! The owner is just delightful and she really pours the joy she has for her coffee shop into her staff. The young women and men that work here always make my day-- hard not to be happy when being served hand pulled espresso with a genuine smile! The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic, and might quickly remind you of a cafe out of your favorite binge worthy tv show. Their breakfast food is delicious too and the owner is always mindful to add extra egg at no charge if I ask for no meat on my egg + cheese muffin. They even welcome your furry companion with open arms. Java House is an adorable quaint little coffee shop. The interior is comfortable, warm, and cozy. I literally could spend hours here. I ordered a hot chocolate, which was fantastic (higher quality than chain coffee stores). My sweet tooth got the best of me and I also ordered cinnamon roll. Their pastries come from City Market and the cinnamon roll was delicious! I really can't ask for anything else from a coffee shop! Always amazing coffee, always accommodating atmosphere! A wonderful, local Cedarburg gem

I stopped in here during Strawberry Festival. Luckily I totally missed the crowd that came in after me. The baristias were very helpful, and they made me an awesome minty mocha drink (I'm not very good with coffee, but I like the drinks that have caffeine but don't taste like bitter coffee). Prices were comparable with other coffee shops; my drink was above-average quality. Super cute inside and they have tables outside. I would definitely stop back here for a fun drink when I am in Cedarburg! read more

I hate to write negative reviews but we've given this place several chances since it's on our road, and the only consistency they offer is how long it takes to get the drink and that you can count on the drink NEVER being like the one you've had before. I've ordered the moon milk each time, the same kind, and not once has it ever been the same. The lattes taste burnt and their idea to add boba to coffee drinks is a disgrace (and boba drinks are our favorite). I don't get why anyone goes in this place. We won't ever again when there are plenty of other places for coffee downtown. read more
