I came to this cafe when it first opened. I tried to go numerous times, but the lines were so lengthy that I had to wait for a less busy day. Everyone appears to love it at Hollander Chocolate, including one of my older friends. But I can't say I feel the same. When I finally got a chance to eat there, I ordered a chocolate croissant and an iced white-chocolate matcha latte. While I waited upstairs, I was impressed by the fancy and professional decor of the cafe. There was even a secret entrance I watched someone walk through. The wait wasn't too long, and when I received my croissant, the pastry was good to average: just what someone would expect from an innocent chocolate croissant. However, my drink was certainly a different story. It took me the entire afternoon to fully complete my experience of the latte. I admit that I am somewhat of a slow drinker, but this wasn't a speed preference. While I appreciated the modern and curved shape of the plastic, the liquid inside was almost sickeningly sweet. I tasted virtually no coffee, and the fluid was entirely green. I'm not exactly complaining about the color, but I am pointing out how thick it was with flavoring. Despite my latte's green color, I tasted heavily more white chocolate than matcha. The drink's taste resembled liquified sugar. By the time I at last finished it, my body felt numb and tired from the overwhelming amount of sweetness. I also lost my appetite for dinner. This is the headquarters for Hollander Chocolate. They manufacture chocolate powders and sauces for the food industry. You can also buy some of their products at the café. The café occupies one end of the building. I stopped in with a friend for an early lunch, and what a great surprise this turned out to be. Food: Their menu contains regular items as well as some R&D (Research and Development) selections. R&D items are not your typical flavor combinations and are great choices if you like trying different things. We got a couple of hot beverages. My friend ordered the hot chocolate, and I decided to try the special Carrot Cake Chai (with fresh carrots and spices). The hot chocolate was expertly made. It was rich, had excellent foam, and featured special latte art. The Carrot Cake Chai had strong flavor and a wonderful creamy texture. It was a bit sweet for my tastes (and I like sweet), and I didn't finish it. I talked to the barista, and they said they could easily adjust the sweetness level by using one less pump of the syrup. For food, I got the Wisco Avocado Toast, and my friend ordered the Devil Egg Salad Sandwich. My toast was good, with a generous amount of fresh avocado. The grape tomatoes were flavorful, but there was a bit too much of the chili crisp seasoning. The side salad was a small mix of lettuce with a few sliced radishes. My friend really enjoyed the egg salad. It was fresh, flavorful, had the right amount of mayo, and came in a good portion. Service: Super friendly service from the staff. I got a lot of helpful suggestions from the person taking the order, and the barista did an amazing job with the drinks. They give you a number and deliver your meal to your table. Food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. Atmosphere: This place has a terrific layout. You can choose from several different seating areas. Some are set up for a quick meal, while others, like the upstairs area, feel more like a lounge. We sat in the back where there is a couch and several high-top tables. The place has an upscale yet casual feel to it. Before leaving, I picked up several of their sample packs of the most popular sauces: dark, white, and caramel. They will make great gifts for friends. This was my first time here and I can see why it's so busy! It's a great space with seating everywhere. I opted to head upstairs because at the time there was no one up there, but it filled up pretty quickly. I started with the Lucky Pig which is a brown butter almond latte. I also had the Deviled Egg Salad Sando because I can never pass up deviled eggs when it's on the menu. The flavors were outstanding the bread held up well. If I had one critique, the should spread it out more so I get the salad and bread in every bite. As you can see, they lumped it all in the middle which left a ton of plain bread. The ambiance is nice but it does get pretty loud in there with all the people. Sound carries, so when the kiddos are loud it makes it feel that much louder. I can see this being a great place to grab a coffee and lunch while working (cause if you work from home it's nice to get out of the house every once in a while). Parking is plentiful and the service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend making this a spot you stop at when you are in the area. read more

The secret is already out. I think this place has been open about five days and the line is already long on a Sunday afternoon. Rightfully so. Having read about the Hollander Chocolate headquarters moving to Port, Washington, and opening a small café, we drove up here to check out the new headquarters, small café named Tulip Café. Of course, the photos show how adorable the place is, but more importantly, the food is amazing if you're looking for something healthy, unique, and scrumptious for breakfast or lunch. They even have some midwestern favorites like egg salad sandwich because they know they're in Wisconsin and Wisconsin people like these things. I decided to go out on a whim and get the Tiramisu Mocha. If you love, tiramisu, your mind will be blown. I had no idea how much somebody could replicate a cake in a coffee. I won't even try to explain short of saying just go there and try it yourself. It was top-notch and beyond amazing. We also had a hot chocolate that was premier quality. Clearly, since this place is an international chocolate business, they dominate chocolate and know how to masterfully create hot chocolate, coffees, and other drink drinks. I have no doubt in my mind that this place will be slammed with business -not just with locals but with others making the effort to drive 20 minutes north to try the drinks and check out this amazing café. Delightful surprise to have a yummy lunch at the Tulip Cafe inside Hollander Chocolate!

Great, relaxing atmosphere. Smelled deliciously the second you walk through the doors. Loved the different eating areas, as well as the decor throughout. Staff was courteous & pleasant. I ordered a white hot chocolate & the "Lucky Pig" French Toast Bake bowl, and my husband ordered a regular hot chocolate & the Breakfast Champion bowl. Now, I love a good white hot chocolate (prefer it over normal hot cocoa), and maybe I set my expectations a little too high, but I found the white hot chocolate here was lacking flavor. Texture was creamy and frothy, and it was served in a nice ceramic mug, but I was disappointed that it looked better than it tasted. Their regular hot chocolate, on the other hand, was incredibly rich and flavorful. Smooth, velvety, divine chocolatey goodness. The bowls were also fantastic. The individual elements in the Lucky Pig bowl were each absolutely delicious. Together? A symphony in the mouth. Although initially I thought the portion was a tad small, it was plenty. The gingerbread brioche French toast bake was fluffy, spiced perfectly, and pleasingly sweet. The healthy helping of almond mascarpone cream that topped the bake was not overly sweet or tart, but had the right amount of cool, sweet tang with a delicate almond flavor. And the raspberry creme purée with almond streusel I could eat by the spoonful, it was that good. My husband found his Breakfast bowl to be equally satisfying, noting that his favorite part was the sausage & bacon crumble, which added the right amount of smokey-salty flavor to the whole dish. There were other things on the menu we'd like to try but that would be for future visits. We definitely will be back. read more

First and most likely last visit. Went in today with my sister for a quick bite. 3 employees behind counter working on 1 person's drink. Ok lots of chit chat which is fine, but not while you have a line of customers. Ordered an ice coffee, a lemonade and one chicken salad sandwich. We were served our sandwich which was messy but good. We were 3/4 done with our sandwich before they called my name for our drinks. Uh..what? Again, seemed like plenty of staff but ..Over 20 minutes for an ice coffee and lemonade? The cutest little restaurant inside this commercial chocolate factory. The avocado toast and the breakfast champion bowl are amazing. All sorts of pastries available until they sell out each day. Had the almond croissant which was also delicious! Every coffee drink we have had there has also been very good. Definitely will be back. read more

Coffee shop is very nice and clean. Coffee was amazing, food however didn't impress me much. I got the sausage breakfast sandwich. It came on a brioche bun, which felt weird for a breakfast sandwich; Made me feel like I was eating a hamburger.
