Lucky Pig (Brown Butter & Marzipan)

This was my first time here and I can see why it's so busy! It's a great space with seating everywhere. I opted to head upstairs because at the time there was no one up there, but it filled up pretty quickly. I started with the Lucky Pig which is a brown butter almond latte. I also had the Deviled Egg Salad Sando because I can never pass up deviled eggs when it's on the menu. The flavors were outstanding the bread held up well. If I had one critique, the should spread it out more so I get the salad and bread in every bite. As you can see, they lumped it all in the middle which left a ton of plain bread. The ambiance is nice but it does get pretty loud in there with all the people. Sound carries, so when the kiddos are loud it makes it feel that much louder. I can see this being a great place to grab a coffee and lunch while working (cause if you work from home it's nice to get out of the house every once in a while). Parking is plentiful and the service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend making this a spot you stop at when you are in the area.

The secret is already out. I think this place has been open about five days and the line is already long on a Sunday afternoon. Rightfully so. Having read about the Hollander Chocolate headquarters moving to Port, Washington, and opening a small café, we drove up here to check out the new headquarters, small café named Tulip Café. Of course, the photos show how adorable the place is, but more importantly, the food is amazing if you're looking for something healthy, unique, and scrumptious for breakfast or lunch. They even have some midwestern favorites like egg salad sandwich because they know they're in Wisconsin and Wisconsin people like these things. I decided to go out on a whim and get the Tiramisu Mocha. If you love, tiramisu, your mind will be blown. I had no idea how much somebody could replicate a cake in a coffee. I won't even try to explain short of saying just go there and try it yourself. It was top-notch and beyond amazing. We also had a hot chocolate that was premier quality. Clearly, since this place is an international chocolate business, they dominate chocolate and know how to masterfully create hot chocolate, coffees, and other drink drinks. I have no doubt in my mind that this place will be slammed with business -not just with locals but with others making the effort to drive 20 minutes north to try the drinks and check out this amazing café. It's totally worth it.

Best Deviled Egg Sammich! The bread was tasty and toasted on the inside. Pumpkin curry latte was a delicious spicy little kick.

The pumpkin curry latte was the best latte I've ever had. The egg salad sandwich was so good. I can't wait until I have my next one! I had one bite of a hot fudge, Arigato, so yummy. And if you like my fingernails, I got them polished to perfection by Cindy.

Such a cute spot, and so popular already! I love that they partnered with Discourse for a fun drink as well. The chocolate croissant was amazing

I just happened by and popped in for lunch. Had the chicken salad sammy with a side salad. Frissee is my fave lettuce and that's what the served. All perfect. I finished my meal with the turtle sundae. The toppings were amazing but I didn't love the chocolate ice cream. Wanted it to be creamier. Tastes a bit like a fudgecicle. In hindsight, should've gotten vanilla

Coffee shop is very nice and clean. Coffee was amazing, food however didn't impress me much. I got the sausage breakfast sandwich. It came on a brioche bun, which felt weird for a breakfast sandwich; Made me feel like I was eating a hamburger. There were two of us, so two coffee's and two breakfast items came to $42 so be prepared to spend more than your typical coffee shop. Staff were friendly and helpful!

It's a mini Airstream parked off the main street, and there strung up lights and picnic tables. We ordered: +a scoop of Butter Pecan on a waffle cone +a scoop of Caramel Collision on a kiddie cone - this was caramel ice cream with caramel swirls and chocolate coated caramel mini cups The ice cream was okay, but not sure if they are keeping the freezer cold enough; it was already melting when the employees were handing the cones to us. The big thing: I just thought it was super gross that the employees who were preparing the ice cream treats/cones were not using gloves; the kiddie cones didn't have a paper slip since it was too small, but the waffle cones did, and the employees were still handling it incorrectly. UGH. I'm glad I was able to check this place out, but the sanitary situation was just a bit too much for me. +gloveless handling of ice cream/cones

The "best" local place that was open in January was The Chocolate Chisel. My family and I stopped and each got a cone. I also got three truffles. The truffles I bought were chai tea milk, experimint milk (ganache with peppermint extract), and peppermint hot chocolate. The chai tea and experimint milk truffles both tasted like they should based on their descriptions, but I wouldn't wantto buy either again. The peppermint hot chocolate had some crushed peppermint on top, but other than the chocolate being in the shape of a mug, nothing about it reminded me of hot chocolate. Ultimately I don't think any of them were worth the price. The ice cream was lackluster. Both of my kids got cookies and cream in a cake cone and thought it was skimpy on the cookies part. My wife and I sprung for waffle cones with ours and were both disappointed in the excessive cone to ice cream ratio that heavily favored the cone. She got plain chocolate and it was fine. I, however, got banana-rama and ended up throwing it out because it tasted more like butter pecan than anything banana related. I even went back inside and verified with the employee that it wasn't mislabeled in the case.

The roasted vegetables were excellent. We were not happy with the Short rib with mashed potatoes. The Short rib was dry and lacked flavor. It tasted like overcooked pot roast. Mashed potatoes were not much better. (2 1/2 stars at best). A very nice venue/restaurant both inside and out. Great location. Our server was just okay. She seemed to be just "going through the motions" and was not very engaging. (3 Stars). I think that the Twisted Willow is probably a good restaurant with quality food.
