We've been with AMS Insurance for many years, but unfortunately, the customer service has noticeably declined over time. It's disappointing to see the difference compared to how things used to be. Another concern is that AMS doesn't check or offer quotes from all available insurance providers, which limits your ability to find the most cost-effective coverage. You're not necessarily getting the best value. I recommend checking other companies first--such as Navy Federal, GEICO, USAA (if you're military), and others that AMS may not work with. Be sure to ask which providers they represent and which they don't, so you can make a more informed decision. Personally, I recently switched and ended up saving more than half on my monthly premiums--while also getting better coverage than I had through AMS. Another downside is the process for making policy or account changes. While claims can typically be handled directly with the insurer, all other changes must go through AMS. This adds unnecessary hassle, especially since their current customer service is slower and less responsive. You can't make quick updates yourself, which can be frustrating. Before COVID, I would have recommended AMS without hesitation. But since much of their team now seems to work remotely, the service just isn't what it used to be--and that's unfortunate. I have been with them for somewhere around 12 years and have left 5 star reviews in the past. But things change. They seemed to become more and more dishonest, although at first I had no real proof. They gave bad advice ("do not file a claim, it will make your premium go up"). They are all smile and polite, but when I went to a random insurance company I got a quote which is almost HALF PRICE compared to what I am paying today for the same type of insurance.
