I have been here many times. All expert work and well explained. If you are doing anything with a vehicle I highly recommend Paul and AMS.

In 1991, I went to AMS to have a stereo put in my 1982 Celica. Got a nice one with two sets of speakers, an amplifier and a subwoofer. An installer named Paul put in the system. In 2010, I needed an alarm for my new car so I went to AMS. I walked in and saw that Paul was still there. He remembered me and described the stereo he put in my car nineteen years earlier. My new car needed a stereo too. Before discussing any upgrades to my stereo, he had one of his installers find out what my factory stereo had for outputs. He then helped me pick out an alarm system and came up with a stereo that would use my factory head unit and CD player. We picked out a four channel JL Audio amp to power 6.5 inch JL Audio separates in the doors and two channels would get bridged to power a JL Audio subwoofer in the trunk. That system got me through thirteen years without a problem, but it was time to upgrade. An annoying noise on the passenger side was bothering me for two years, so I took the door panels off, but I couldn't find it. When I came in for the speakers and alarm installation, Paul's installer, Jeff put my doors back together when he installed the new speakers. I didn't tell Paul about the noise till I picked up my car. Paul offered to go for a ride with me to find out what it was. He noticed a loose piece of trim on the passenger side of the sunroof. In the parking lot, he took apart the sunroof trim and put it back together. The noise is gone and I am way happier to listen to my stereo without that distraction. Paul is now the president and owner of AMS. If you want to upgrade your stereo or start from scratch with a completely new alarm and stereo, go to AMS and they will help you. In 2010, when I got my 2001 BMW, it was vandalized it so I went to AMS for a security system. I spoke to Paul Nachreiner, now the President at AMS. He remembered me from 1991 when he installed a stereo in my 1981 Toyota Celica. When we were discussing the security system for my BMW, we talked about the system he installed in my Celica. He detailed the components like he installed them last week. A short time ago, my security system wasn't working right so I contacted Paul. He asked me to bring in my car and he would take a look at it. When I got there, one of his technicians, Jason Salas, noticed that the wire to the antenna at the top of the windshield was not hooked up to anything. I told him that I recently had my windshield replaced and that the two sided tape holding the thing up there came loose. Not knowing what that thing was, I disconnected it and put it in my car somewhere . Paul asked me where it was. I told him it fell off the windshield because it was not attached right and that it was in the car somewhere. After we found it, Jason put it back in place with some good two-sided tape and the alarm worked right again. I told Paul I was amazed at how quickly Jason diagnosed the problem. He told me "Jason was Installer of the Year in the entire country as recognized by the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association back in '06/'07." I went to AMS to have DynaMat installed in my front doors. For those not familiar with the product, it's additional insulation to reduce road noise with the added benefit of retaining more sound from your speakers. It also makes your doors sound more solid when closed and eliminates rattling/vibration. Unless AMS installs it. The rattles and vibrations from my doors/windows has increased dramatically since this "work" was done. They got me in one time to see what they could do and said they couldn't find anything loose in my doors. Wish I had saved my money as the road noise was much more tolerable than my windows and doors rattling with every small bump in the road or my speakers. Edit: Thank you for the long-winded and unnecessary explanation. None of what you wrote justifies my car sounding worse than it did before the installation. I realize things loosen up over time but if you recall, I initially made the complaint shortly after the install and was told nothing could be done after my door was taken apart by you a second time. My doors didn't rattle before and they did after, simple as that. read more

Excellent service and installation. I took my 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon in for a backup camera and stereo upgrade. I needed a screen to display the backup camera and Paul found a Pioneer car stereo with a flip up 7" display screen. This was a difficult install in a 28 year-old German truck. Paul suggested components that fit perfectly. Zac had to deal with some challenging aftermarket wiring and fabricate covers for the previous speakers as well as installing a rack for the subwoofer. All of the work is emaculate. The Pioneer unit allows me to use the backup camera, play music from my phone and handle calls hands-free. The sound is incredible even when driving down the highway with the windows open. This was not inexpensive, but Paul did all he could to keep the project affordable for me. I couldn't be happier and I will definitely go back when I upgrade my 1986 Vanagon. read more

If there is ONE thing I like about a business from a consumer standpoint is being able to reliably go back year after year, decade after decade....and the business has remained largely the same. People like "comfortable" and "familiar", it lets ME know that whatever that business does, it works! My first dealing with AMS was around 1995 when I had an Eclipse stereo put in my 1981 Toronado. God what a PIG that car was! There was some terrible thing cobbled into the dash at that time and I needed something to change. When I got the car back, the thing I immediately noticed was how EXACT the installation was. The stereo looked like it was SUPPOSED to be there from the start. After LISTENING to it, even on my crispy 14 year old factory speakers, I knew it was money well spent. After 2 more stereos, a set of Boston Pro components, having them build me enclosures for my old school Boston 12.5 LF subs and who knows WHAT else...I just had them install a Compustar remote start in my daughters Honda Element! She is a mail carrier who uses her own vehicle and is not a fan of being cold, so it was the perfect solution for someone who doesn't have a garage. Yet again, after all this time, nothing has changed. The sales, the service, the QUALITY of the product and installation and the promise kept hasn't changed. It was all "comfortable"..."familiar". I didn't write this as a sales pitch, I didn't write it for money. I wrote it because this shop DESERVES it. To be great at something these days and to set yourself apart takes a lot of effort, knowledge and time to truly understand how things work and how to be at the top of your craft. It isn't something acquired overnight. It has to be EARNED. And that is exactly what AMS has done with me for the last 25 years...they have EARNED my business. read more

My cars are my children. Over the past 5 years, I have had no less than three vehicles taken care of by Kevin and the meticulous technicians at AMS. Not only have I had installs done, but un-installations as I get set to buy the next vehicle. Not only did they lay out all of my available options, but are up front with their pricing costs and estimations. I had a new remote start installed, and it ended up being a touch more complicated than we all had anticipated. I received a phone call telling me there would be a delay, but was not charged over the estimate that was quoted. They do good installations, when they want to. I went in and looked for a specific type of installation. Instead of doing what I wanted, they tried to talk me into a Nav deck that they sold for $1100. The same unit was $600 on eBay all day. First they said they could install it but wouldn't guarantee it to work as it should (why?) then they back tracked and told me that they would only install items they sell. Gee, I wonder why. Clearing more than $500 on the deck then on top of it, their excessive installation charge, and I can see where their coming from. I went to Radio Doctor and THAT was a mistake as well. I came in waited for 5+ minutes and started talking to Paul and he was helpful at first but then I went outside for a minute and I came back in and he was helping someone else (which is understandable) but then I asked the man behind the center counter if he could help me and I was told "NO" so I said well I only have 2-3 minutes or ill just take my business elsewhere and I got told "ok have a good day" so I would not suggest this business unless you don't care about customer service. read more

Very frustrating experience. Agreed to $1500 stereo install. Had to wait 25 days for the install, then during the install I learned they couldn't interface with factory amp, I needed custom amp. $2350 later my car sounds absolutely horrendous, plus the stereo is defective and keeps shutting down. I want my factory stereo put back and a refund or even an 85% refund. They refuse. My $40 iHome radio in my kitchen sounds better than my car now. And the phone in my car took ten steps backwards with the install of this stereo; it now sounds worse to people I call from my car than a call from China sounds. Sure hope AMS comes around and cares more about customer satisfaction than they appear to read more

I called AMS to get a quote on fixing my car stereo. When I described the problem, the technician diagnosed it over the phone, gave me simple instructions to fix it, and I was able to fix it myself in under two minutes. The problem was nothing more than a simple bent tab which was causing an uninsulated wire to ground out against the metal edge of a speaker. I unbent the tab, and voila, my music was back. I spent no money and never even went into the shop, so I feel I owe them this review if nothing else. By contrast, the dealership was going to charge me $139 to even look at the problem. AMS didn't try to drag me in or make money off my ignorance of a certain type of common problem. They were honest and helpful rather than putting the bottom line above all else. This service-oriented attitude is so welcome (and sometimes so hard to find) that it really made them stand out. When I do go for an upgrade, AMS will absolutely be my first choice. read more

I came to AMS with a specific install in mind. After they briefly listened and interrupted me with "why" a number of times, I decided to look elsewhere. Paul has quite the arrogant attitude. When someone comes in and wants something done, and you can do it, then DO IT. Tell them its the best idea you ever heard and just do it. Why would you question WHY? After talking to them and having them try to turn my idea around, they wanted me to get a navigation deck installed. Not just any deck, but only one they sell. Their deck was about $400 more than online and they wouldn't match the price nor would they install anyone else's stuff. They used to be the "go to" place, never again. read more

In 2010, AMS installed an alarm system in my 2001 BMW 330ci. I discussed my needs with Paul Nachreiner, AMS President and he set me up with a great system. A couple months later, I decided to improve my car's Harmon Kardon AM/FM CD stereo. Paul evaluted the system and told me it could be upgraded pretty easily. In 1991, when he was an installer for AMS, Paul put a significant sound system in my 1981 Toyota Celica so I knew he could get the job done. When I talked to him in 2010, he remembered the components he put in my 1981 Celica. I wanted to maintain the BMW factory stereo's appearance, but have a great system underneath. He chose a JL Audio four channel amp, powering JL Audio 6 1/2 inch separates they squeezed in the doors. After the JL Audio amp blew up a couple subwoofers, I told Paul to give me one that would last. In 2013, he set me up with a JL Audio 10 inch sealed subwoofer that is still pounding. In short, AMS did an awesome job for a reasonable amount of money. My security system has worked perfectly for over ten years and other than a couple blown subwoofers, my stereo has been flawless for the same 10+ years. I highly recommend AMS for their high-end car audio and security system components and expert installation. read more

I've been to AMS 2-3 times over the past year, all for electronic work. What impressed me the most was their installation of a new to market radar detector. This installation was a very involved process which required removal of both fenders and a lot of the dash. I was the first one in the USA to get this system so it goes without saying that they had little experience. They made it clear up front that it would be a learning process for them and that they were going to take their time, which totaled two full days. They also didn't charge me full rate because of the slow process. The outcome was amazing. While they're were definitely not the cheapest in town they did go the extra step to ensure it was installed correctly. I have and will alway go back to AMS for my auto needs. read more

After two months of run-around, the folks at AMS were able to fix my car stereo and dashboard in less than an hour -- all the while I sat watching the Dish television in the air conditioned waiting room. Efficient and friendly and the best part -- I authorized up to $65 and they charged only $50, even after fixing a dome light that I didn't know was out. Excellent work! read more

I came to AMS to upgrade my factory stereo, and they did a fantastic job. Paul was the salesman and John did the install. They clearly know their products and were very professional throughout the whole process. The installation is practically invisible, which is what I wanted. The only drawback is that they don't offer a wide range of brands, but the ones they do have are very good and you won't have a problem putting together a package that you will be satisfied with. Purchased 2-way remote starter in December 2015, was told it could be transferred to another car later on.....However, sales rep forgot to mention " the cost to reinstall will be almost what I paid just 5 weeks ago ($650). Traded my suv in last week and was forced to leave the starter in the truck or pay $150 to have it removed. Should have went to best buy...smh read more

Recently had premium JL Audio System put in my Focus RS tuner car. This is the 4th car they have done for me over the last 20 years. Lexus, Subaru Sti and 3/4 Ton Chevy truck (Lots of variety right?). This system is the highest end I have done and the word perfection comes to mind. Paul, Kevin in sales and Jeff and Jason in custom installation are all amazing and do amazing work. They have been there between 14-20+ years each so you always have the continuity of the same people. They share ownership so they all have skin in the game. If you are even thinking about a custom car stereo from basic upgrade all the way to complete ludicrous custom fabrication make sure you stop by and give them a chance to earn your business. You will not be disappointed. This last system is so over the top they blew my expectations out the window. I have never been so excited to write such a big check in my life. They get my highest recommendation plus!! read more
