So far, so good! We just needed a key fob programmed (struck out doing it myself, and dealership wasn't of any help). They responded to my email (via webpage) almost immediately. We were able to talk about my needs and arrange to have my daughter-in-law swing by the next day. She arrived and they were very polite and helpful. And quick! In no time, they had the fob programmed and she was on her way - all for a reasonable fee (which was all discussed up front ahead of time). I took my '08 Corolla in because I was hearing some distortion in my rear speakers. The gentleman who helped me was very professional and knowledgable. He offered me multiple different options to either repair the speaker or replace them all together. He told me that the distortion was likely caused by dirt trapped in the speakers and offered to clean them for me and only charge me labor. He also recommended a set of new speakers (although did not try any sales tactics/pressure to get me to buy them) if I wanted to improve my sound. He knew exactly which speakers to recommend for my situation as this is an older car and I had no interest in upgrading my amp or head unit so he recommended something that can handle the low power coming from the cars OEM head unit. I opted to replace the speakers as they were only $100 more and I couldn't be happier. Speakers sound great and no more distortion. Work was professionally done in a matter of a few hours. I would definitely recommend Flynn Audio and I plan on using them to upgrade the sound system in my next car. read more

Had a amp and subwoofer added to my 2018 Audi TT. This is a small coupe with VERY little "spare" room for an install. Looked to put a small powered sub under my seats...seats are too low. In a TT there is a joke of a backseat that could not hold any human over 5 years of age. In fact the drivers seat can go back far enough to touch the front of the "backseat". So could not install a powered sub on the front face of backseats either. Trunk is really nice as it's a large hatchback door over it...but I gave Sam a further issue to deal with. I put a small guitar amp back there from time to time to jam with my friends and the trunk was really the only place that I could put my guitar amp. I got dimensions of amp while in Sam's shop and he said there'd be enough room if I used a corner of trunk. I was also worried about the sub taking hits from amp. (It doesn't really move when I drive but still) Sam built me a custom box that would both protect and project the bass. (Downward with small ports cut out of bottom sides) A amp for the sub was easy to place as it did fit under my seat. I did try my guitar amp as far as loading...it fit and was easy to slide past sub box First off it sounds great. Really adds some ooomph to the sound as well as fullness. i normally play heavy metal so it's not VERY bass heavy but it does feel/sound much better for the kick drum and bass. If I want to play something very bass heavy like rap it sounds great there too...definitely can feel it strong. (I'd go deaf if I kept it at full volume though) The install is very clean...wires are hidden...the control knob was tucked away inside a compartment that makes it easy to access even while driving...yet 100% hidden from view. It was tuned and Sam had me try it before I left. He made one more tweak to amp after we listened together...and away I went. He stayed on schedule throughout. Would recommend. read more

So I went in to Flynn Audio to get my stereo replaced. The stereo was great, bought it for a decent price, and I was shown exactly how to set it up, use it, etc. Within the next week my car started dying randomly. Because I never left any lights on, I was starting to think it was the radio draining my battery. So I brought it back in to Flynn's Audio, and not only did they run an assortment of tests to figure out what was wrong, but they gave me a back up battery in case my car died. I received an email an hour after I left saying that they had done more research on my car to see what was up, and that they think they had figured out what was wrong. They offered to have me come back into the shop to work on my car, even though it wasn't because of the radio. Honest to God I have never seen customer service like this. I would highly recommend to anyone this place. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for taking such good care of my car and of me. read more

I love music. I live for music. My friends know it. My parents know it. I spend most of my waking hours listening and discovering music. When I told my friends I bring my portable bluetooth speaker into my car to listen to music, they absolutely could not believe it. They laughed. They called me ghetto. I drive a 2007 Honda Accord that doesn't have an auxiliary port or bluetooth, how else was I supposed to listen to music during my long drives?! I couldn't keep driving my friends around blasting music through my Jambox. It was embarrassing. Flynn Audio came to the rescue. I contacted five different car stereo installation companies and Sam was the first to respond and had the most competitive rate. He went over the different options and went over the pros and cons of each. He was able to get me scheduled the next day and installed a Sony stereo in less than an hour. The Mission? Get my brand new and super awesome Sound Ordinance Powered 8" Subwoofer installed in my CRV (quick note and freebie extra tip - it turns out that the Sound Ordinance Powered 8" Subwoofer isn't super awesome and should never be considered if you are shopping for something like this - onto the review...). I am in my 40's and love music. I also am desperately trying to hold on to the days when A Tribe Called Quest, Ice Cube and other rap music was the only thing playing in my vehicle. Some may call this a mid-life crisis - call it what you will - at least it's cheaper than a Harley. I found Flynn Audio after a quick search for installers. Communicating with Sam couldn't be easier. He was super responsive to both phone calls and emails. Set up an appointment for a Saturday morning and focus on just how great it will feel watching people as I drive by them pumping 1990's rap as I try to look as cool as I can... The shop is extremely easy to locate - right off the beltline on Todd Drive (which is a bonus - a "Drive" that shares my name - extra bonus points for Flynn Audio!!!). Greeted immediately by Sam and he dug right in. Gave me an estimate on when he'd be done and off I go to kill some time by shopping (I was going to buy some classic hip hop CD's but as you probably know, finding a Too Short CD at Target is impossible). While wrapping up my shopping (FUBU and/or Phat Farm clothes no longer can be found ANYWHERE!!!) I get the call that I was waiting for - the car is done!!! Or so I thought... The installation was done but Sam informed me that it isn't going to be what I wanted. The results? With the radio turned up to max volume, a little extra bass could be heard. Sam mentioned that it was performing as it should - the unit just simply didn't have enough output or power to make a difference. Not what I expected from the Sound Ordinance Powered 8" Subwoofer that came in a box with an outline of a strategic bomber dropping a huge (and obviously very loud) audio bomb. There were even dog tags included in the box! I was an unofficial member of the Sound Ordinance Bass Army but I did not have the bass to prove to anyone my enrollment in the Bass Patrol! Sam recommended that he uninstall it and he could provide some guidance on what to replace it with. The whole time Sam was EXTREMELY informative and took a "no frills" approach to what he did and was doing. There were no upsells or talk about additional costs. I agreed with his suggestion and the dud Bass Bomb was coming out. After 10 seconds I realized I should have asked Sam a question that could save the day - I called back immediately - "Do you have anything in your shop that you could install today that would have people within a half mile hear me playing Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz?" Sam's answer was an explanation that sounded better than hearing Flava In Ya Ear for the first time - YES!!! Wrapping up the review - Sam installed a 10" subwoofer AND amplifier at the same cost I would have paid for the labor and materials for the previously mentioned worthless powered subwoofer. The entire time Sam was professional, took initiative and solved a problem in a way to make the customer happy instead of monetary gain. He was extremely neat and there was absolutely NO way to tell that the interior of the car had been torn apart. As far as I am concerned, there is no better audio installation business in the Madison area. If you plan on having ANY audio work done in your vehicle, Flynn Audio should be your only consideration. He is a professional in every sense of the word! Take it from the guy driving around town listening to Chief Rocka and Shut 'em Down who has a BIG smile on his face!!! read more

This morning I called Flynn Audio but the shop was closed. Ten minutes later Sam checked back and had me to come in. '07 BMW X3 Audio and GPS has not worked in over 9 months. Sam quickly took off the Audio and checked the fuse but nothing was wrong. Then he reinstalled and reset the Audio. It finally worked :) Sam also help me to repair another problem and got it done well. Actually a couple of months ago I had asked him some questions about my car Audio through yelp. Sam replied quickly and was very patient to give some suggestions. Sam is very honest and decent. I would recommend anyone to go Flynn Audio first. read more

I called Flynn Audio to install a headphone audio-in on the stock radio in a car that my parents had loaned me for my commute. After quoting me a price similar to what best buy had ($150), they did extra research (which they totally didn't have to do) to find a cheaper option for my car's make and model. The option they found was about half as expensive ($80)! Unfortunately, I found an auxiliary input hidden in the vehicle's dash enclosure so I didn't need the installation after all (My bad! :/). In addition, about 3 other car audio outfits in Madison never even returned my call for a quote - Flynn got back to me during the workday via text about the voice message I left and then called later within my schedule. So for going the extra mile with customer service and having great off-work hours, I'll be recommending Flynn to anyone I encounter. read more

Had a situation where the car stereo started to have problems in the 13 year old SUV I plan on replacing in a few months. I needed to replace it, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I saw Best Buy had a "deal" that included "free" installation with a $99 stereo. Upon looking into the "deal" it was revealed that other "required" set up costs would be about $180 in addition to the car stereo. That's an expensive "free". I found Sam online, and exchanged a few emails. He was very honest with assessments of my stereo needs and situation, and rather than try to upsell me said he had a discontinued Kenwood that would suit my needs. And it was only $80 or so. Long story short, the stereo and installation were cheaper than the Best Buy "requirement." And I was in and out of there in under 30 minutes. Love the stereo, but more importantly really enjoyed supporting someone who clearly loves his work and is a hardworking, decent guy. His shop is immaculately clean and professional looking. I have to say Sam is a great guy. It does help that he has a great dog as well (King). I started shopping around for a remote start to be installed in my truck that my wife bought me. Sam was able to get me in quick. He has a place for you to wait and free wifi. His time was spot on for the install time. Since he did so well with the remote start, I wanted him to install a power pack from Alpine to my stock radio. (I already swapped most of the speakers in the Truck) I also ordered a set of alpine tweeters from him as well. We had to wait on the tweeters to arrive and install on another day. I brought my wife with me so I could drop off my truck. Well The wife now wanted to new head unit installed. Sam was very accommodating to help us. She picked out a head unit and had a date setup for her install. Sam took the time to also install her aftermarket fog lights. Sam is very detailed when explaining what he is doing with your vehicle. His recommendations are on point. He does not over charge. It's great to see a local business owner succeed. I found Sam on Yelp. I hope this review helps others if they need a new stereo installed.
