Once in a room, the care was excellent and the rooms were private - this is critical because there are people who snore or are disruptive. The food was very good for a hospital, yet the call in order system needs to be updated to an app. The hospital took care of my issue once it was identified and I was released 5 days later. It is the best hospital stay I have had. The staff were excellent and available when called. There are lots of people leaving negative reviews for things beyond the control of the hospital or for following protocols. Doctors and nurses have to follow standardized procedures, so complaining they did not make an exception is not indicative of the care you will receive. I would not hesitate to go back if I need medical care. I had an excellent experience overall. The only room for improvement is more space for patients in the ER out of the hallway.

This was an excellent program with guaranteed results until recently when the business decided to…read morestart mailing medications instead of providing them at the end of your appointment. This business use to provide the pre-filled syringes of medication at the end of your appointment after performing a health assessment and discussing the best options. You were then given the option of the medical staff administering your first shot and taking the other 2 pre-filled syringes home to administer yourself or taking all 3 pre-filled syringes home to administer yourself. Recently, the business started the new practice of mailing medications in a box with ice instead providing patients with the 3 pre-filled syringes or providing patients the option of the medical staff administering the first one at the clinic. This clinic no longer administers the first shot. They no longer provide the or/filled syringes at the end of the appointment. The new process involves waiting to receive the medications in the mail. This significantly delays progress. On average you have to wait 4-5 days before you see the medication now. You have to wait to find out when it's shipped which takes days. In addition, this medication is suppose to stay frozen but people work and if you are going to leave a package on someone's door step that is temperature sensitive in August, that seems like a bit of an issue. The box that it is mailed in is far too large to fit into a mailbox, so you need to get home early. If you live in an apartment you could ask the office at your apartment complex to hold it, but those offices close early and that means a working person may not be able to get the medications and start until a week after the office appointment. What is really troublesome is that you are mailed empty syringes, alcohol rubs. and bottles of and medications with no directions. The medication is a pain to get in the syringes and then you have to call the clinic to confirm the specific dosage you need since the measurement on the syringes not match the measurement type that you were told you would be prescribed while at the clinic. I was told that you can ask that the medication be mailed to the clinic but that means a second visit before you can start your medication and usually that means a week delay to your start. To add insult to injury, you are told to return in 3 weeks but you are already a week behind the day you should have started. All this new process has done is cause discouragement and a desire to start looking at other programs to determine if it's possible to get the medication injected at the clinic to ensure you are doing it right or at least get the prefilled syringes while at your appointment. I asked about this change and I was told it was a law. I do not see any law regarding doctors bring required to mail all medications to patients.

PCPs/General practitioner family docs are a dying breed. To find a PCP that is a sole practitioner, not in a large medical group is EXTREMELY rare, if not basically extinct these days. It makes SUCH a HUGE difference to have a doc, where you are HIS patient rather than just another number to a random group practice. The gold ol' days of medicine are almost gone and it is just so amazing that Dr. Maslen is still there. All the pressures in medicine today push, if not force docs to sell their practices and join these large medical groups-- costs, insurance, etc are the culprit here. However, she proceeded to insert a needle into that place, and it was so painful I yelped and almost jumped off the table. She took it out. She placed a couple more needles. Then she placed another in my sensitive spot that was, this time, so painful I yelped again and started to cry. She took it out, and asked me if I'd slept well the night before. (.......Really? Answer: Yes, I'd gotten 8+ hours). The asked me if I was alright, and I shakily mumbled that I was. She left the room. I was left in the room for 20 minutes, listening to the children screaming and crying in the waiting room, doors slamming, receptionists laughing, and the toilet flushing (right next door). During this period of time, I rapidly grew quite uncomfortable in the position I was lying, but was unable to move, and unable to call someone into the room.
