I have been seeing Amy for eyebrow micro-pigmentation for many years, and I love it! She's super friendly, funny, and cool-which makes a potentially scary process go quickly and easily. The first time I had it done, I was so nervous about letting someone put TATTOO NEEDLES into my FACE but Amy's a hands-down pro and my brows look great. I go back every year or two for touch ups, and I always look forward to seeing her. Some people say that having "semi-permanent makeup" is high-maintenance, but I think the total opposite. Amy gives my eyebrows the perfect shape, and I tweeze / wax / trim to the shape she creates and they always look great. I used to wear powder or pencil to darken my brows every day, but it would smudge or I would not do it perfectly, and I felt self conscious about it. Now I only have to think about them occasionally, and they look way better. If you're considering micro-pigmentation, I say: go for it! And Amy is 100% the perfect person to do it. I did my eyebrows last April and went in for my touch up for eyebrows on May 21 and I was a bit surprised that they had not reached out to me afterwards, since I was pretty upset about the results from the first appointment. I've been debating on whether or not I should post for a while, and I wanted to make sure enough time had passed to make a fair judgment, especially because Amy was kind. The ink didn't take after the first appointment on the entire eyebrow. Iwas disappointed that we had discussed the fine, precise strokes that could be achieved with microblading and instead, the ink looked blurry. I was NEVER warned that this was a possibility. After the touch up, the ink did last but this blurry effect did not get better, even though in our correspondence, Amy said it would. If I had known, I wouldn't have bothered coming in for another session and spending more money. Whats worse is that this time, the ink used was way too dark for my eyebrows and the touch-up was done by a different associate (and they contacted me last minute and made me come in on a different day - the day I WAS MOVING OUT of my apartment!!!) The ink gets dark from the outside of my brows towards the inside and this is the opposite of what a real eyebrow looks like. It looks as if someone took a black sharpie to my eyebrows and with my fair skin, I've gotten several "you're looking like Michael Jackson" reactions! The touch up appointment wasn't even microblading by hand but it was only done with the use of the machine. I have looked at countless of photos of other people's results online and I've spoken to friends who have also gotten this done, which only validates how upset I am that my own eyebrows didn't turn out this way. I also showed several photos of what I expected, specifically to avoid having unreasonable expectations, and that happened anyway. As for the problem with the color of the pigment, that's clearly due to a mistake on the associate's part the second time I came in. I can't emphasize how ridiculous it looks both in person and in photos. The response to my email is that Amy is away but she thinks the eyebrows turned out fine and if I want, I could "soften them." I didn't pay nearly 1500$ for microblading (thievery for this quality) to just have her remove the ink as the solution. I was in shock that Amy herself didn't even bother to reach out!!!! To make things worse, I ALSO spent the same amount of money on Lip microblading with Amy, and I was really disappointed in those results as well. (A whole other story). Amy, if someone spends thousands on your services - you need to make sure that they are satisfied. I feel bad posting this review, but I also need to let other people know of what may happen if they use your services. read more

When I made my appointment with Amy for permanent eyebrows, I was really nervous, but as soon as I arrived at her studio I knew I was in good hands. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. This is a review for an awful lack of customer service and humanity. I made an appointment for a simple, yet expensive, eyebrow shaping two days before my wedding. Although I booked a month in advance, the only appointment available was at 12pm on a Thursday. I called at 10:25am to alert reception that I was in a work meeting scheduled to end at 11:45am, that would likely run over. I asked if I could move to 12:30pm. I rushed from midtown, paid $20 for a cab and arrived at 12:25, and was told that Amy had to take her next client whose appointment was 12:30, but could see me in an hour. I was so upset and stressed from the traffic and wedding that I broke down in tears. Amy never came out to greet me or explain. The receptionist was heartless and unapologetic. I thought people might be more understanding and squeeze me in for a 15 min appointment, but not Amy Kernahan. read more

Amy is truly an artist and this is her calling. Both my husband and I had micro pigmentation (permanent makeup) applied to our eyebrows by Amy. I did my eyebrows first and had only one regret - that I had not met Amy years ago! I have been drawing my eyebrows on for about 25 years and after having Amy do my eyebrows I am kicking myself for now going to her ages ago. She is awesome, has a wonderful way about her that puts you at ease right away. I was nervous about having a tattoo on my face but have loved the magic she worked on me. She starts by drawing eyebrows on you with powder so you can see what you will look like when she is finished. Before adding the micro pigmentation she makes sure you are happy with what she has done. Another surprise for me as this was my first tattoo, it was not painful, just a little pinching. I love waking up everyday with eyebrows that looks spectacular! After a few weeks with my new eyebrows I asked my husband if he would be a sport and let me draw eyebrows on him to see what he would look like as they were grey and were only about an inch long. I was really surprised that he was willing to go to Amy but he saw how much younger he looked. He has recently been back to his old job and people there could not pinpoint what was different, just that he looked younger.
