I am very excited about my upcoming microblading touch up with Nadia. I couldn't entrust my eyebrows to anyone but her. She transformed my overly plucked and uneven eyebrows into beautifully symmetric brows. I do get compliments on them all the time. I don't have to use brow pencil anymore. I just wake up, brush them and I am ready to go. I am really glad I was introduced to this place. They now have another location in midtown. I saw pictures (very luxe) but haven't been there yet. Eye design studio : It really is amazing how a company can screw up someone's appt each time. I have been going for a few months now and started my sister to go too. Every time we made an appt there was an issue. Someone would call and we would have to reschedule each and every time. It appears an online schedule took precedence over my speaking to a person. The place is not cheap, they do a great job, pending on who does it, but to constantly reschedule a customer is frustrating. I have been getting lash extensions for over a year, and I just switched over to eye design studios. Olga does an amazing job, the lashes last a long time, and look amazing. She makes sure the lashes are put on exactly as I request each time (cat eye etc), and she has such a steady hand you barely feel a thing. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I had several unpleasant experiences here and was forced to look elsewhere for lashes. Once I found another terrific salon, I was surprised to learn that a refill doesn't take 2 to 2 1/2 hours and I can easily get an appointment elsewhere. I had an emergency and was in the ER with my husband who is terminally ill (they knew this as well) and had to cancel an appointment and they were very rude. They cancelled all of my upcoming appointments and then said I would have to pay in full when booking an appointment. So much for loyalty. The girls are not trained well and I had major bruising to my right eye and then when I switched girls, another one made my lashes look like the end of a broom stick. There are many other salons. I have been getting lash extensions for 4 years and eye design studio is the best I have found in NY. And I really love my lash technician Iness! She is very skilled and really listens to the customer so that she understands your lifestyle and can recommend the best lash style for your daily life or special events. I get so many compliments on my lashes all the time, from women and men too! Everyone thinks they are natural so I even get asked what mascara I use. My lashes last at least 4 weeks...even when I was out in the Caribbean sun and swimming on a 12 day cruise my lashes stayed looking fabulous. I also enjoy my time with Iness; she is sweet, friendly and will chat if you feel like chatting. Otherwise, you can easily fall asleep and when you wake up, voila- your lashes are all done. I never write negative reviews, but I had such an awful experience here I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. I never had eyelash extensions before and I was nervous about getting them. After doing a lot of research, I decided to try eye design. I was most worried that the eyelashes would be too dramatic because I really just wanted a natural day-to-day look. I booked an appointment with Olga for a natural set. On the website they state that they do all different styles of eyelash extensions from natural to dramatic and in different shapes including cat eye, doll eye, squirrel etc - so I figured when I got there I would have some sort of conversation with the technician about what I wanted and what style would be best for me etc. Not the case. I got there and I got called in, the tech said okay you're getting natural set what length do you want? I said I'd never had extensions before so I wasnt sure but that I really wanted the most natural as possible and that I was afraid of the lashes looking too dramatic. She said ok i'll just give you 11s. I didn't really know any better to be honest so I agreed and trusted her. First of all she taped the lower lash pad entirely too close to my eyeball and never even asked me if I was comfortable throughout the process. I had discomfort in both eyes through the entire process and figured it was normal because I had never had them done before. The next day I had a clearly delineated line across my left eyeball indicating that she had indeed taped the pad way too close to my eye. I actually had a corneal abrasion and had to go to the eye doctor and get a week of antibiotic eye drops and avoid contacts for a week because of it and it was really painful and my eye was red all week. Secondly, she placed like 5 false lashes on each of my natural lashes. I opened my eyes when she was done applying them and my visual field was literally obstructed because they were so heavy and cumbersome. They were uncomfortable, I could feel them every time I blinked, and when a gust of wind came my way I had to close my eyes because they were flapping into my eyeball. I told Olga that I thought they looked crazy and she said I was wrong. I told her I'd go home and see how I felt in the morning. I was SO embarrassed to go to work because of how ridiculous they looked that that I only went to work for 3 hours that day. I called the salon and spoke with a manager who said I could have them removed and refunded. It was 10am and I said I could come in ASAP because they were actually quite uncomfortable and she said the earliest she could take me was 3:00pm and she'd call to confirm my appointment. At 2:45 I still hadn't heard back from her and called multiple times only to be placed on hold then told she'd call me back etc etc. I finally got a hold of her and she said she could do 3:45 only. I had work at 5:00pm so I said fine but that I had to be out by 4:15. Lo and behold I go in at 3:30 and don't get called in til 4:15 and it was the same technician who placed my lashes the day before. She was really huffy and pissed off at me and gave me a lot of attitude about removing them. Once she started applying the removing agent, she applied SO much that it was seeping into my eye and burning really badly so I started squinting and complaining and she just told me to stop squinting so much and walked away. Lastly, I never got refunded and it's been well over 10 business days at this point. I called the offices today to complain and all the numbers are magically not working. I had to proceed to contest the charge via my credit card service. This was literally the worst customer service experience of my entire life. I thought perhaps this is just how eyelash extensions go and perhaps I'm just not cut out to have them, but I went to a different studio the next day to brave it again and got beautiful, comfortable, natural lashes that I couldn't even feel or notice and no red eyes or corneal abrasions. Do not trust this place. I have come twice as a model, was called for confirmation and told to arrive 15 mins in advance. I did so and was not chosen. I was told to come again the next day, this time I came an hour and 10 mins in advance and had someone that came in 15 mins after me get chosen. It supposed to be first come, first serve, and instead it's all about preference. They deliberately avoided choosing me and when I mentioned that this was the second time that I was here and that I was here prior to another girl that got chosen, the front desk rep shrugged and said she had no clue. If you're not a tiny, former or current European model, they are not interested. I'm completely comfortable with the first come, first serve selection process, but then be fair and don't lie and say someone was here before me, when I can assure you they weren't. read more

I was introduced to lash extensions in another state and was getting them done regularly for two years prior to moving to NYC. Needless to say, I was very nervous and particular about selecting a new lash place. I could not be happier with the services at Eye Design! I chose Irina because frankly, the other technicians were already booked but I continue to see Irina because she does an amazing job! At my first visit, she recommended shorter lashes with more curl. I went with her expertise and received so many compliments on my lashes from friends, family and strangers! I've been to other lash studios and had good experiences but eye design is honestly the best. The beds are comfy and each one comes with a blanket which makes for a restful lash experience. Everything is applied very gently. My real lashes are still so healthy and the extensions last for weeks. I go every 4 weeks to get them filled but at 4 weeks they still look pretty darn good (so even when I think they look a sparse, I STILL get compliments on them from others). You really couldn't find a better lash studio and I definitely recommend Irina. This is a quality establishment and you will never have to be worried about ruining your natural lashes.
