I cannot recommended this shop to anyone, unless I don't like them. All I needed was my jacket zipper repaired. When I picked up the jacket, the zipper was a good 2 inches short! When I asked about it the lady said they don't make zippers long enough. 30 seconds of Google at home showed me otherwise. Heck, they make zippers for sleeping bags which are measured in FEET! Took $35 CASH ONLY UPFRONT and 3 weeks. I even provided my phone number, but they didn't bother calling to tell me they didn't have the right materials. And just to make it all even worse, the (too short) zipper jams up right around the pocket area! read more

Amy is a very talented woman and she runs a great business. I went to her for the first time a year ago when I needed my oversized wedding dress tailored down to fit my small frame. I had "interviewed" several other alterations places in Bellingham to get a price quote and an estimate on how long it would take. Every place I tried was either far too expensive, too "sketchy," or said I would have to wait months before my dress would be ready. I tried Amy's as a last resort. I'm so glad I did! Instead of calling ahead, I walked right in. And although she seemed busy, Amy immediately made time to do a fitting right then and there. She was very sweet and very upfront about the costs and time frame. The price was amazing and she said that she would work hard to have my dress back to me within weeks. I was sold. During each fitting, she made me feel like I was the most important customer in the world. And when I finally got my dress back, it fit absolutely perfectly!! And I must say that it probably wasn't an easy dress to tailor. She had to take it in around 3 sizes, the fabric was very delicate and there were many many layers and ruffles. I also really appreciated her giving me multiple options for the bustle (one more complicated/expensive and one a bit simpler/cheaper) instead of just doing it and surprising me with a large bill. And for the cherry on top of this lovely experience: As I was paying the bill, Amy suggested that I purchase one of the zippered wedding gown garment bags to protect my dress, instead of the celo bag I was currently using. As a bride on a very tight budget, I told her I couldn't afford it. And she said, "well, I think you need it so I'll give it to you for free." From start to finish I received star treatment from Amy. This lady was recommended highly to my DIL when she searched for someone to alter her wedding dress. Clearly her high ratings did not come from her alterations. I have never seen such poor work especially from someone who claims the are a professional. I could have done better and I am not a seamstress. Her seams were not smooth or straight at ALL!! She cut the front slit then pulled it together and sewed it leaving a horrible tuck in the front of her dress. The bustle looked like a child sewed it on and she pulled it so tight it left a noticeable tuft on the back of her dress. NOTHING layed smooth and nice. Both hips were totally different shape (and bumpy from her seams) and she brought in some areas to much. She had to shorten the dress as my DIL is ver petite. When she cut the shear layer it curled on the bottom and instead of smoothing it she sewed it that way. She got many stains from her hands and ink used for the alterations all over the dress. She only did one fitting and cut the fabric before making sure everything was good. She frayed the fabric at the seams with bad stitching. There was no going back. She destroyed her dress and charged her hundreds of dollars. She had a complete loss and had to get a new dress. Amy was very unprofessional and even though the dress was proof of her poor workmanship she argued and said she did a great job. After many contacts with her to get money back she finally gave her HALF of the money she charged her. She should have got ALL the money back plus the cost of the dress she destroyed!! I am sharing in hopes to prevent another bride from having to go through this. It is heartbreaking and expensive to have a dress so special get ruined. I wish I could post pictures here to show everyone because you could easily see what I am trying to say and the poor work. read more

I was looking for a tailor to make some adjustments to a suit and shirt before a wedding and came across Amy's. She had the best reviews in town and could complete the alterations by my requested date so I gave her a try. She was very friendly and helpful immediately upon entering. After changing into my suit, she listened to my instructions and made all the appropriate marks. She understood exactly what I was looking for and promised to have it done early. When I came to pick up my suit I was pleasantly surprised she remembered me and a couple small details I mentioned. After trying on the suit I was blown away by the job she did. I'm a pretty tall and skinny guy so I like my suits slim which means they require quite a bit of alterations off the shelf. She did a fantastic job tapering the pants and bringing them in on the rear so they didn't look saggy. The jacket was the prefect amount of snug without the lapel sticking out and the shirt was just right so that there wasn't separation or pulling near the buttons. I was all around very impressed with her work and would highly recommend her. read more
