I've been getting cupcakes here for three years, and they are always yummy and unique. They offer lots of gluten-free options, which I really appreciate. Definitely check this place out! The chocolate chip cookie is a 10 out of 10, though it's slightly on the smaller side. The Irish sausage roll was scrumptious! They also have coffee and drinks, making it a nice spot to get some work done or hang out with friends. The space is small but clean. The service is fast and friendly!
I got a "too good to go bag" from Amy's and it was a great variety at a amazing price! The cupcakes are $4.50 each ($5.50 for a vegan/gluten free up charge), and I got all 6 cupcakes for $9.99 ! They were still delicious and fresh. They put on that frosting, it is layered thick! The cookies looked good too, I'm going to have to go back to try those!
My friend and I ate across the street and she wanted to pop into this cute little corner bakery for a dessert treat. Amy's was really cute and fun. They have one counter with all products available displayed nicely behind glass. I am a sucker for macarons so I bought a box of half a dozen. I haven't eaten them all but so far I find them to be fresh, right texture and the chocolate ones are great. I did think the buttercream in some of them was a bit too soft. But I have very high standards when it comes to macarons. Overall, pretty good and definitely passable. My friend got one of the many types of cupcakes available. They all looked just lovely but I was too tempted by the macarons. There are also a variety of cookies/moon pie type treats available, plus coffee and beverages. I also thought it was cool that when we visited, there was a macaron-making class going on in the back of the store. How cool! The service was fine, and the prices were in line with what I'd expect.
We had the BEST girls night taking Amy's macaroon making class! Located in downtown Hopkins is the cutest little bakery. The class takes place in the back kitchen area where they have designated baking stations with all the tools, equipment and ingredients set up for you! We had so much fun being able to pick out our own colors, fillings, and flavors. Im a red velvet girlie and my friend chose to do a fun, champagne filling flavor! There were so many flavors and colors to choose from, you really can't go wrong! Amy, the owner, leads the class and is so kind, down-to-earth and helpful with every step. There's a break halfway through the class to allow for your macaroons to bake. This is the perfect time to grab a quick drink or bite to eat at one of the nearby bars or restaurants. Although I doubt I could ever re-create these master piece macaroons on my own without Amy's expertise and help, it was a really great experience and the best, most delicious macaroons I've ever had! We each came out with a big batch and box of our own personal creations and was able to enjoy them for days after!! I highly recommend the class or just stopping by to purchase for the best macaroons ever!!
Drove 20 mins to get here and it was worth it! They had multiple cupcake options to choose from where you can find a type that fits your palette. I got the mint chocolate chip and almond wedding and my roommate got the funfetti birthday and vanilla bean. The icing was nice and not thick at all and the cake was soft! They had a small seating area and free water if you decide to eat in the shop! Will definitely be back! I will try the macaroons next time
I am very impressed with this bakery, and will definitely return! I originally reached out to them about doing cupcakes and a cake for my wedding. Jenn responded promptly and helped me out with pricing, choosing flavors for the tasting, and asking when I would like to pick up the cupcakes for tasting. I received four complimentary cupcakes, and then paid for two additional flavors, which were very reasonable. When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff was friendly and the interior was adorable! It was a great location as well. I really appreciated that the cupcakes were each labeled inside the box. Each flavor was amazing, and they were moist and delicious! I was very happy with them. I'm sad we can't use this bakery for our wedding, because our venue has a preferred bakery they work with and we would be charged a large catering fee if we used a different bakery. So, I emailed Jenn back and let her know that we would be using a different bakery because of the venue's catering fee. I'm disappointed, but I will definitely come back for a birthday or other special event!
Cupcakes galore! I couldn't pick just one flavor so I got ALL the flavors! The cupcakes and macarons were to die for. In fact the macarons were so good I ate them all on my drive home and didn't get a chance to get a picture of them. If you are gluten free this is the place to go! When you walk into the store all of the cupcakes and macarons are displayed so beautifully! I will definitely be visiting Amy's Cupcake Shoppe again.

Omg!!! You TOTALLY knocked them out of the park!!! NAIL IT!!! I used to spend hours making batches of macarons trying out the Italian, French, and Swiss methods but never reached anywhere close to this level of perfection!! Amys not only.makes some of the best cupcakes in the city, they make some of the best desserts overhaul. Everything from the macaroons to the cookie sandwiches are Divine. Inadditon, they can do custom orders like a beautiful stein cake they did for our Oktoberfest party.
I have already been a fan of Amy's for the occasional sweet treat, but taking the macaron making class with Jenn took my adoration for this local bakery to new heights! We got to pick out our own flavor combinations and Jenn patiently walked us through the process, giving us helpful tips as we went. The class allows for a dinner break, giving us an excuse to check out one of the many restaurants within a short walk. We ended up coming home with an abundance of macarons and the recipe to make them again at home. Getting to work "behind the scenes" in the bakery with only a group of 4 made the event feel personal. We all learned a lot about technique while having a wonderful time. I highly recommend the experience!
The outside of the building is very nice. The inside is cute and cozy as well. The front of house doesn't scream cupcake shop to me. Only 6-8 choices. The employee who helped us was extremely helpful and explained any questions I had. Chose 1 pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate vanilla. The chocolate vanilla was awful. I was so excited to eat it but couldn't even finish it. The chocolate cake was so dry and hard it almost seemed it was from the day before. The frosting also had NO flavor. Presentation wise it looked good. The pumpkin cheesecake wasn't much better. There's nothing cheesecake about it. The pumpkin spice was there but that's about it. This one seemed to be baked the day of (softer cake). I love cupcakes but I will never go back here.
We stopped in here while we were attending the trick or treat event. Everyone was so nice and friendly. I loved the Halloween style desserts they were offering. I'll be back soon
We were walking down Main St on our way to the food truck festival when we came across Amy's Cupcake Shoppe. Truthfully, I was on the hunt for a bathroom, but was more than willing to grab a sweet treat while we were there. I had already peeked at what people were enjoying out on the patio, and on such a perfect spring day, it was hard to pass up. We ended up trying a few macarons. They were beautifully displayed and there were so many flavors to choose from. We had a family dinner later that day, so they felt like a great option to bring along. We stopped in closer to 1pm so I'm guessing the selection of donuts and cakes was a bit picked over compared to the morning hours. That said, they still have a good variety and I would definitely go back earlier in the day to try one of those donuts! We had a few questions about how the macarons would hold up in a warmer car, and the employee helping us was happy to answer everything. It seemed like the owner was there as well and heading out for the day. She was very kind, especially to let us use the bathroom. One quick note, Google shows Amy's Cupcake Shoppe as permanently closed, so they may want to look into updating that. Overall, a really great stop and one I'm glad I stumbled into - those usually are the best! read more
We walked in looking for a bathroom, and oh man, I'm glad we did! The smells were good, and everything looked so good and fresh! The person behind the counter was very nice and was able to answer a couple questions I had about the macaroons. Thats what we got, some macaroons. They ended up being so good, crispy and chewy perfection. The flavors were great too! Also on the menu was donuts, cupcakes, and even regular cakes (even though they were sold out for the day) Definitely worth the stop anytime youre in downtown Hopkins. And PS, they do have a bathroom! read more

Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience. Since Angel Food Cake took over, the quality of the baked goods seems to have declined, and the prices feel high for what you receive. The sandwich was dry and served cold, and the pretzels were also very dry. The staff was kind and welcoming, which I truly appreciated, but the food quality just didn't meet expectations. I hope improvements are made because this spot has potential. read more

Finally got to try it! My assessment.... it's okay. Cute place, with seating and the service was friendly. I got a small Mocha with white chocolate flavoring (your other option is dark chocolate). It's the same size as Starbucks Tall, a bit cheaper, less sweet, and much tastier. I'd rate it 4.5/5! Also got two cupcakes at $3.25ea. 1)vanilla bean: no traces of vanilla beans and an interesting vanilla flavor. The cake had a coarse texture, not very soft but also not very dense (I wonder if they use oil instead of butter). It was topped with American buttercream, (not as smooth as Swiss or Italian). I'd rate it 3/5. 2)almond wedding cake: good amount of almond flavor, same texture as above, and also topped with American buttercream. I'd rate it 3.5/5. Overall it was okay, but I'd have to return to try something else.... who knows perhaps another day or item would score better. read more

Really cute cupcake shoppe. We had the red velvet, wedding cupcake, and the salted caramel cupcakes. They were ok cupcakes, nothing special. The frosting was too thick and the cupcake felt heavier in texture rather than airy and fluffy. Looks like they do offer wedding cakes. The cupcake decorations stand out but I was not impressed with the flavor or texture. I also had the coconut milk latte, average here. I love the one served at Starbucks because it has a very coco-nutty flavor and feels like a treat. I just took one sip of the latte here and the rest went in the garbage. What a waste! read more

This review is solely based on the macaroons because that's all I've had here. THEY WERE AMAZING. my friend has all these allergies so she ordered a big box for us for valentine's day that were gluten and dairy free. I HAD MY SUSPICIONS ABOUT THIS. guys. GUYS. I wanted special cupcakes for a 3-year-old's February birthday party and wow - did Amy's Cupcakes come through. The little girl loves the movie "Frozen" (decals on the cupcakes are even edible) and the color pink. Got 2 dozen, with 4 different designs and flavors - received so many compliments. The cupcakes were fresh and delicious. Easy parking out front and a nice staff. I'll be back - and ready to try more treats! read more
Amy's Cupcake Shoppe went above and beyond to help me with a custom order, and I couldn't be more grateful or impressed! I was working with a baker who had a wide variety of unique flavor options for my sister's baby shower, but they ultimately cancelled on me due to a wedding being rescheduled on the same day after we had already picked out unique and exciting flavors. I was scrambling to find someone who would be willing to make passion fruit red velvet cupcakes with cactus icing and vanilla boysenberry cupcakes with chocolate icing so that I didn't have to back track and settle for more standard flavors, and I couldn't be more grateful for Amy's being up for the challenge! The flavors and aesthetics were absolutely perfect, and the cupcakes were definitely a highlight of the baby shower! Not only was Amy's willing to take on the challenge of my unique and high maintenance order, but they did an incredible job with the execution, as well. I also found their prices to be very reasonable considering I was ordering off menu items with decorative icing. I will absolutely remember this incredible level of customer service when choosing my desserts for future events!! Parking is also a breeze the majority of the time, and they have a rewards program! I am now a loyal customer, and I would encourage you to try Amy's for any of your dessert needs, too!! read more

Love this little shop!! I ordered macarons for my sisters baby shower and everyone loved them. I love how many flavors they offer, and they all taste so good! Staff is friendly and suggests their favorites. They are extra careful during covid. They have little promo discounts once you order with them and it hooked me!! I went and bought some cupcakes to surprise my fiancé for a date night in :) Cupcakes could be slightly fresher, but also could depend on the time of day you get them! Will definitely continue to come back!! read more

Absolutely loved Amy's Cupcake Shoppe! They created our wedding cake and cupcakes last year. SO many amazing flavor combinations. They are so easy to work with and accommodating. We did s'mores, raspberry almond, sea salt caramel, and they did a vanilla bean rose frosted cupcake that I had dreamed about wanting! I love the little shop downtown in Hopkins too. Great little place to stop for a quick beverage or yummy treat. I will say that I was disappointed in the Edina location. They were practically out of everything, and the girl working wasn't too friendly. read more

The sweetest, most adorable, and darn right delicious bakery on Main Street in Hopkins! Now I used to cart my derriere all the way to St. Paul to get my most treasured of treats macarons. The melt in your mouth French sandwich cookies that are so labor intensive to make. But no more! West side represent! My boss showed up at work with the most adorable unicorn macarons! So cute! She said she got them at Amy's and I was ecstatic! Sadly there were no more unicorns, but enough other flavors I didn't really care. At $2 per cookie they are definitely a treat! I stopped in the shoppe right before closing time on a Saturday thinking it would be quiet and quick. Wrong! They were still quick, but it definitely was not quiet! There was a birthday party with balloons and princesses. Families with kids getting treats and all the tables were filled! It was a hopping and happening place! Funny enough at my Zumba class the next day I commented on a woman's t-shirt from this very cupcake shoppe. She told me of how she donated to Amy's Kickstarter in the beginning to get this shoppe going and how she stops in periodically for her lifetime supply of cupcakes (or something like that) one at a time with lots of exercise in between! Cool local spot to support and the desserts are delicious to boot! read more
Hit or miss... Don't get me wrong, I love coming here. I love the atmosphere and the friendly faces. I love my almond lattes and cookie sandwiches. But some of the treats I've tried have been underwhelming. I keep coming back to try the macarons hoping I had just experienced a bad batch because I REALLY do want to like them, but consistently they have been hollow and dry, so as soon as you bite into them they crumble into dust. No chew to them like a traditional macaron. I did try a lemon lavender rose macaron a few weeks ago that held together ok and the flavor was great, and a chocolate whopper one that held up well. But the pistachio and salted caramel that same day were the driest I've ever had... try Cocoa & Fig for your macaron needs. I'd also recommend skipping the vegan and gluten free cupcakes. They are SO dense, I've never had anything like it, almost like a sticky playdough-cake hybrid... the flavors of the V/GF cupcakes I've had have always been nice, in fact the vegan frosting is some of the best frosting I've ever had, even tastier than their regular buttercream. But I can't get past that texture... So if you're stopping in for a coffee, a cookie, or ordering a special cake (their decorating is incredible!) you'll be satisfied, but maybe skip the macarons and V/GF cupcakes. read more

Found ourselves here for an afternoon sweet treat after some shopping. Other than cupcakes, they also have macaroons, cake cups, coffee/tea and fun soda flavors. We had the red velvet cupcake which was good but not as rich as I like it. Still its a nice place to have a little dessert and get off your feet after shopping. read more

My daughter went yesterday for a birthday party to decorate cupcakes. The kids loved the idea and quickly finished their two cupcakes. The shop itself is very cute. Yesterday was my first time inside since it seems that every time I walk by it's closed. The decor is charming and there is a little play area for the kids in the corner. The staff is also very friendly. Previously, I've eaten cupcakes from Amy's for work events. I'm gluten intolerant, as well as allergic to other ingredients. One time after having been gifted a tray of gluten free cupcakes from Amy's, I spent a long time on the phone with a staff member to figure out the exact ingredients to see if I could eat them and I found them to be very helpful. In the end, their gluten free cupcakes, are also vegan, which is nice. When you have so many things you can't eat, it's hard to find something you can that tastes good, but their cupcakes do! I'd recommend paying them a visit. read more

I came across Amys cupcakes online looking for something new for my daughter 17th birthday I sent Amy a photo of what I wanted she replied very fast I called had a few questions very professional on phone I paid the invoice and go to pick it up looks just like the pic EXCEPT I SAID I WANT HER CAKE TO SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY LENA THEY FORGOT HER NAME the lady working said I'm not a baker I can t write Lena in frosting yet I paid 75 bucks for a cake I want her name on it she did it in fondont was really nice gave us free cupcakes but I really don't want free cupcakes I want her cake to look as I asked I attached pics of the horrible writing read more
