I ended up chatting with a few of the staff to hear about what items they enjoy here. Sometimes getting out and talking to strangers can be a great way to change your day around and maybe theirs. Everything was tasty and the cinnamon roll was especially comforting. They open at 7 am most days so it is a perfect place to stop for breakfast! After googling to try to find a good tres leches cake in the Twin Cities I noticed this one came up…read moreon several lists - I needed one for a birthday and was quoted $50 for this 6 inch cake. I was a bit nervous as $50 seemed a little high but after picking it up and seeing how gorgeous it was in person I was already happy with my decision. The best past was obviously cutting into and eating it! I bake frequently as a hobby and would pay $50 again for this cake in a HEARTBEAT. The texture, the flavor, the consistency in both the cake layer heights and how they were baked - it all was perfect. We got 8 generous slices out of this cake and everyone was able to enjoy the fresh fruit on top (although the dipped strawberries I think are the best!). It was perfectly soaked so that it wasn't dry whatsoever but also was able to stand up and not squish under the weight of the toppings. The cake also wasn't too sweet whatsoever (the boarder frosting on the bottom was a little sweet but there's so little of it it didn't make a difference). Overall definitely happy with this purchase and will be ordering from Pastelería Gama again in the future!
