I stood there waiting while 2 people had a convo and I felt ignored. I dropped a star for that reason. The key lime pie and dirt cup were very tasty!! After several visits over the last few years, here are my thoughts. -Lots of seating! If you're looking for a table indoors and the main area is packed, head to the back (towards bathrooms) where you'll find two rooms with additional seating which are usually quieter. - I tend to go for sandwiches, which include house made chips. Honestly, when I first went, I wasn't a fan of the chips, but it didn't take long for me to like them. Once while dining in, I found that most of them were just tiny bits. Well when the waiter came to ask how things were, I told/showed him... just as an FYI, not expecting anything. Well, he kindly brought me a bag to replace them. -The staff is mostly kind, with two male waiters/runners being especially nice and helpful. While myself or others are waiting they'll give friendly smiles, see if you need anything in the meantime. I like them! - Although I go mainly for the sandwiches, (my favorite being the Southwest Chicken Panini available in the Fall), I also like the mac and cheese and fries. I used to love the coconut cake, but something about the last one I bought tasted different. The filling and the cake texture... weren't as tasty as I remember. I LOVE the dill egg salad here! I can't get anything else. Sometimes I order a 1/2pint and a loaf of bread and that some of the best meals for a couple days with some lettuce. I also love the egg salad salad and the egg salad sandwich.The sandwich comes with a crisp and flavorful pickle and homemade chips. The salad comes with a mixed greens blend, two scoops of egg salad and a piece of focaccia bread. Yum is a local staple! What I love about Yum is that they have handy parking and the space is so large that you can almost always find a table here. It tends to be busy, but that's a good sign of course! On our last visit in, it took a while to have our food brought out during lunch rush - next time will opt to order something more casual. I had the salmon rice dish: the salmon was great, but the rice was too doused in sauce and wasn't as enjoyable. I'd opt for something else next time. They definitely excel in their baked goods! It can be a little tricky ordering gluten free here - there are some naturally GF items, but no options to sub gluten free bread or pastry options. They also have plenty of seating in front and in back. The servers were very friendly and prompt with bringing out our orders. We ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts and Greek salad with grilled chicken. The Brussels were so good and I'd highly recommend ordering to share. The Greek salad was just ok-the dressing lacked flavor and was a little too bland for my liking but wasn't bad. Cute spot and great for large groups. You seat yourself and you order at the counter. The menu is comprehensive but I wish there was a kids menu. They seem to be family-friendly but it is hard to order for a child. For example, for me to get my child the chicken and fries they asked for I would have to pay $10 for 2 pieces of chicken and $8 for fries. The mac and cheese was good, and more importantly, my kids liked it! I like the turkey sandwich - loved the fresh onion and red pepper aioli. I also noticed that they focus on sustainability (glass cups, no straws, reusable napkins), but would be great to have some plastic or melamine cups for kids to avoid accidents. I ordered the salmon couscous salad, and the salmon was excellent. There was a generous serving of lettuce and couscous, though I felt the dish needed a bit more dressing to bring everything together. Maybe there was dressing, but just not quite enough. Whoa, this place was popping on a weekday afternoon. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but there does appear to be overflow parking across the street. They have two counters you can approach one for bakery items and another for food and bakery items. The menu is quite extensive in addition to the items they have on display for pastries and other baked goods. I don't think you can go wrong ordering anything. I had the tuna Sandwich which was monstrous, and more than enough food for one person. It came with a side of chips, but I ordered fries on the side, which were OK. I love the friendly atmosphere and brightness from all the natural light. The service was also friendly and prompt. Would absolutely be back for food and pastries. You order at the register, get a number sign, and the food is delivered to your table. I personally much prefer this to dealing with waiters. Healthy food well presented. Unfortunately this trip I was shorted on the sandwich. Had ordered a chicken salad sandwich for lunch at the 4000 Minnetonka Blvd location. I ordered extra tomato, which I was charged extra for, for 14.60 with tax. I didn't get the extra tomato and got 8 squares of chicken, it barely took any space. Looking at the other sandwiches, I think you normally get about double that. I mentioned not getting the extra tomato I paid for and they gave me another slice. Took away from here recently and my overall assessment remains positive. This is IMHO a high quality establishment. Unfortunately (and a situation almost entirely of my own creation) the Fish and Chips were not a great takeaway choice . I had a craving for the Yum! F&C and my daughter graciously agreed to pick up an order along with a salad for her and an assortment of sweets. The F&C was generously portioned and tasty but in transit had become a somewhat soggy agglomeration. I knew that dish lost considerable zest the further it got from the kitchen. Again, still flavorful but not exactly crisp. Just so you know. My daughter's salad appeared appetizing and according to her really hit the spot. The assorted baked goods were all delicious. I will certainly keep Yum! in my rotation but will probably not order Fish and Chips again for takeout dinner. I think that this particular meal is much better when consumed in-house. I had a horrible experience at Yum this morning. I requested gluten free and informed the person at the counter that I had celiac. I asked if my Farm Breakfast could be prepared in a clean skillet, and she said it could - though she made it clear she really didn't want to ask. When my food arrived, it had wheat toast on top of it. I do not fault the cook. People make mistakes. I was upset by the customer service provided by the person at the counter. She asked if I wanted them to make it again in an accusing voice, and I said no, given time and scraped anything that had touched the bread off as best I could. I did not receive a word of apology, and six hours later it is obvious that I had a gluten exposure. It is clear that this particular location, or at least this person taking orders, doesn't want people who can't eat gluten to eat there, so if you have celiac, don't! I'll never eat there again. read more

A local fave! Amazing food - co sisterly quality ingredients and many gluten free options! This is the best deli experience since the long gone Lincoln Dell (which was nearby). Efficient staff - can order online for curbside pickup/carry out, or order in line and have your meal brought to your table. Main room is sunny and active, with a relaxing patio and quieter back dining room. High ceilings, polished concrete floors, and lots of light! Faves are the Rachel, Tuna salad, or Salmon entree. All 3 lunches were amazing - chicken club, grilled cheese, and chicken salad all received rave reviews. They had tables for dining in if you choose to do so. They have two different deli style counters to order from. One is for coffee and pastries and the other one is to order food. I had a double cheeseburger and fries. the food was good but I felt the burger needed some type of seasoning. Other than that, the food was cooked well. Inside they also sell small items. I was really disappointed with yum! I needed a quick late lunch to go and thought yum! would be a good option for how close it is to my apartment. For a 3pm order, I had to wait quite a while before my order was ready to go. It wasn't the end of the world - I didn't mind waiting 30+ minutes, but what I received was extremely underwhelming. I ordered a Grilled Cheese with tomato, and my cheese wasn't even fully melted (see picture). I suppose some people don't mind a partially melted grilled cheese, but I haven't met them. The avocado toast was delicious! The burrito was terribly bland. The staff wasn't friendly at all. The person that took our order seemed more like we were bothering her more than anything. There was a huge line so maybe that's why they were annoyed. The line did go pretty fast. The way it works is you get in line, they give you a number and you find a table to sit at. The place: casual. Inviting. Families and dogs and friends gather here over fresh and tasty dishes. You order at the counter and take a number to your table so it moves pretty quickly. I think the most recent time I was here, our sandwiches came out to us within 10 minutes (they were also devoured within the next 10 minutes). The taste: I've been several times and everything is good. There's something for everyone - the omnivore, the meat only eater, the veg-head...the tuna melt has a special place in my heart, but had the egg salad sandwich most recently and have no complaints. First time at yum and I have to say it sure was yummy. Met up with a friend of mine for lunch . It was busy in there but the line to order food went pretty quick. My friend got the Mahi fish tacos, Mac and cheese and I got the Lemon Chicken. The tacos looked delicious and my friend was happy with it. I tried a bite of the Mac and cheese and it was delicious. I ordered the Lemon Chicken and I was extremely happy with my decision. Chicken was nice and juicy, cooked to perfection. It came with mashed potatoes and Broccolini on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious. One can't leave that place without ordering dessert since it's a bakery as well. My friend got the pumpkin bar and I got the mini pumpkin cheesecake. The pumpkin bar was devoured by my friend. I am usually not a big cheesecake person but this one was to die for. So glad I decided to get it.
