I'm very sad that this Hallmark is closing because this is not only the Hallmark I like going to the best but it was the Hallmark I use to go to for the After Christmas Sale and last year was the last time I got to go there for the After Christmas Sale. I hope they don't close the Hallmark in Thousand Oaks because that's the closest Hallmark to me near a Macy's and a Dave and Buster's and I hope I can there the end of the year for the After Christmas Sale but I'll have to wait and see. I'm going to miss this Hallmark a lot and I'm going to miss seeing the lady with the blond hair that works there because she knew that I always went there for the After Christmas Sale. Now that this Hallmark is closing not only do I have to cut back on going to Hallmark but I won't be able to go to Hallmark before my next Disneyland trip. I hope something good will take it's place and I hope the Macy's, California Pizza Kitchen, and Dave and Buster's in Arcadia stay open because otherwise I may start to feel very depressed the next time I go to Arcadia. read more

This was such a local gem inside 'The Shops at Santa Anita,' Arcadia, CA. I stumbled across this Hallmark Shop was because I had today off so decided to check out some of the local gems we have here. I wasn't going to sign up for Rewards' system at first but decided to because the cashier i came across was very inviting, friendly and helpful. It was a week day I stopped by, so the store had some traffic but wasn't crazy busy. I roamed about the following sections: 'Snoopy,' 'Winnie-the-Pooh,' and 'Star Wars,' well of course but who doesn't love George Lucas' Star Wars.' Amy's Hallmark Shop in Arcadia Carries a little something for everyone I'm sure. From the 'Star Wars,' section, they sell lots of R2D2 merch, some Yoda merch but didn't see anything from the Darth Vader character. Years ago, I had camped out watching 1 of the Star Wars' movies with some college friends but now I can't recall which sequel it was. However, today's visit was spent mostly browsing the 'Snoopy,' and 'Friends' TV Show,' sections. I ended up buying a 'Friends' TV Show,' soft baking mold which is really gonna be used for making more Organic soap bars later instead of baking. read more

Everything went very well - the service was great especially when you are in a bind and need help picking a gift.

I went to the Hallmark store in Westfield Mall this morning and received no greeting and I waited in line with one cashier went to bathroom, one walking around and one pretended she stood at the front and did nothing! This a true story I moved to Santa Clarita last year and even though they have two Hallmark Stores You will never get better service then Amy's Hallmark I have been coming here forever and even though I moved 45 minutes I can't leave my Hallmark staff here in Arcadia Miriam the Manager was so helpful and polite , Jaci another employee remember'd me from previous visits and Maggie was the best enrolling me in the ROC program!!! We hadn't been in this Hallmark location in years but needing Mother's Day cards we decided to make the trip to this shop (one of the last actual Hallmark stores). We were sad to see that the shop has become less of a card shop and more of a gift shop. Is this a reflection of the waning use of actual paper cards? You know, the ones that you sign with a pen and put a stamp on the envelope? We did find what we needed, but we were looking for a larger selection than what is at the local CVS or grocery store and we didn't find it. I want to give a great review for the employee who helped me at the Hallmark in the Arcadia Mall. I asked a young employee to help me with funeral invitations. She told me that she couldn't help me because she was not on the clock yet, and walked away. Annoying. Another employee asked if I needed help. She searched the entire store for the invitations. Then, she gave me free seals for the cards. Then, she gave me seven dollars off the total! THIS is great customer service. She must have sensed that I was feeling sad. Based on my recent experience, I cannot recommend visiting this particular Hallmark store. I unfortunately had a highly disappointing experience with the manager, Miriam. Despite the reviews I had seen on new management I decided to give this Hallmark a chance since it is a lot closer to me than Hallmark in Montebello. As someone who has always enjoyed browsing Hallmark for unique gifts and greeting cards, this encounter left me deeply dissatisfied. When I approached the counter to inquire about a specific item, I was met with a dismissive attitude from the manager, Miriam. She seemed disinterested in my inquiry and told her team member to keep an eye on me within earshot of other guests which was highly embarrassing for me. Note to the store owner: Miriam, the manager on duty was talking to another team member about presentations and she was expressing her frustration with the events coming up, I understand pressure from upper management but that talk should be kept in the back meeting room rather than in the store front. Also asking team members to keep an eye on customers instead of offering assistance is completely unacceptable. The lack of customer service, unprofessionalism, and apathy displayed by the staff were completely unacceptable and tarnished my perception of the brand, or this location at the least. read more

Cute items! Last time in here some of the older employees were so helpful. Management take note: The employees there on a Friday evening are just talking and talking and talking and all using foul language while trying to tie up balloons. They aren't helping any of the customers in the store or greeting them. Get to work!! read more

We love coming here when we're at the mall. Each Christmas we buy one or two ornaments. Saw one today my wife really liked so I tried to purchase it for her only to be told we had to be a Keepsake Ornament Club member to buy it and they weren't taking any more applications for the Club. It was on the display with the other ornaments and there was no apparent indication that this was for "special" customers only. Very disappointed in Hallmark. We've enjoyed their stores in various locations for years but I don't think we'll be doing much business with them anymore. read more

I went in on my lunch hour and two associates could not be bothered to help me. Both of them were speaking Spanish. I looked at her name tag and couldn't believe that was the store manager I wasn't able to catch her name, but I believe Maggy with tattoos on her arms and she gave me the biggest attitude because I asked to be rung up. I will never ever return to this store the lady named Miriam was a terrible terrible help she acted like she didn't care about my needs! I would ask for help to look for something and was given attitude right off the bat! She was very short answering and seemed to be in a rush to not help me and to basically shoo me away. Located downstairs in the Santa Anita Mall. I came here a few days to purchase a few greeting cards for a baby shower. I also had a $5 off $10 purchase coupon to use to help save myself some money. Whenever I come into a greeting card store, I just love to walk down the aisles and read some of the greetings just because some of them make me laugh, smile or think 'aww, isn't that sweet'. This Hallmark store is nice and clean and has a lot of cards for pretty much every occasion. Their card section is neatly organized and stocked adequately. They are also in a set of price ranges that would work in your budget no matter what the occasion is for to purchase a card. There is also a ton of stuff animals, picture frames, gifts for baby showers and weddings and graduations, etc and so on here as well (but a bit overly priced, which I am sure you could purchase some where else much cheaper). Anyways, I purchased 3 greeting cards and when the girl behind the register rang me up, my total came out to $9.21 and so I asked her what could I purchase for $0.79 and she said the candy that was behind me. So I asked her which one of these would be the cheapest. Since it would be more work for her to ring up each piece of candy to check the price, she just let me use the coupon I had even though my total was not quite at $10 (Even Better!). Overall, the employees that I interacted with (upon coming into the store, I was greeted. I was also asked if I needed any help as I was walking down the aisles) were quite friendly and easy to find if I really did need any help. This Hallmark Store did not honor my coupon sent to me because I used their store pick up service (I spent $100). This Hallmark is not concerned with the Covid Virus or us elderly folks. The customer in front of me also was denied her coupon because she purchased her lay away item. In both cases the cashier asked the store manager to decide if the coupon should be honored and the manager said, "No." I'm curious why the manager gave me a look over to make a decision...could it be something in my personage that had to be evaluated? We were looking for Hannukah cards and there were none to be found in the entire Monrovia/Arcadia area, so we thought our best shot would be this Hallmark shop in the mall. We were right. They had a small Hannukah section with 10-12 cards. Not much selection but enough for us to find something to our liking. The guy at the counter made a face when he saw what we were buying and said "whats that?" about the picture of a latke on the front of the card. VERY rude and insensitive! We are used to living in West LA where it feels like so many people are Jewish and we have never experienced ANYTHING like this in our lives. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They can reserve my item and if I can't make it in a week I can call for an extension to hold the item. Also, they helped me take my expired coupon even though I missed it by a day which I really appreciate it since I was trying to surprise a gift for my friend. After moving there store, they started to carry a lot more selections. Peanuts collection is great as well as cards. They have many great itty bitty selections too. I have not visited a Hallmark store in a very long. My friend wanted to get some christmas cards for her coworkers, so i was pleasantly surprised at the variety of products to carry in the store. Lines were long but moved rather quickly. I've never been treated so poorly. Spent over an hour picking out cards and gifts for coworkers. Ready to drop a pretty penny. The store is packed I'm waiting in line and when it's my turn the girl at the counter shuts it down without saying a word to me and starts manning the other register. Holy cow I was over it just dropped my stuff and walked out. Never coming back. The way the staff treats their customers is abhorrent. The sales people seemed under a lot of stress to sell, sell, sell as well as to push customers to sign up for the Gold Crown Card. I was very excited to find a Hallmark Crown store nearby after moving, especially so many shops have closed down over the years. I was very happy feeling like back in my high school days when I first walked in but soon left the store disappointed in bitterness. The store was quite small but it wasn't the size that had bothered me. Everyone who works here seemed cold and not-caring. No one bothered to ask me if I needed help while I was going in a circle several times not being able to find something. Finally when I was checking out, my purchase was thrown into a flimsy, plain poly bag (whatever happened to the Hallmark paper bag?) without a word of thank you. A tote bag I bought wasn't even put in a bag. When I asked for a larger bag, the young girl scornfully said they ran out of bags. It was only 11 AM in the morning! Well, the world is changing and even Hallmark isn't what it used to be. read more

Hadn't planned to write a review- just wanted to see what time they opened but after reading so many negative reviews thought I should write. This is one of my favorite places (definitely closest) to buy cards. Not sure about the staff reviews from others but I have always been well taken care of. Ex when I couldn't find my discount certificate and mobile phone service wouldn't work to look it up the girl at checkout offered me some other discounts she had available. Not as good as the one I had but thankful she was willing to work it out for me. They have always been more than willing to ck other hallmarks when I needed a specific item they were out of. I'm sorry some have had bad experiences but I've not been disappointed with the variety (especially Christian items) and service. read more

I went to the store for some non-occasion wrapping paper in early November, but the shelves were already stocked with Christmas wrap. I asked an employee if they had the wrapping paper I was looking for and she spoke with her manager. The manager explained they should have it in the back since they pulled a lot of merchandise to put out Christmas item and someone would check. I proceeded to wait 20 minutes while "someone checked." I spent the time watching employees stock shelves, check out customers, wrap gifts for customers, balance huge boxes of greeting cards on a tiny rolling cart.... I was almost ready to walk out of the store, but my husband was calm enough to ask the manager if they were able to find the wrapping paper and she said that they forgot. She had the wrapping paper 2 minutes later. I'm glad they had the paper, but their service sucks. I mean, if you see me standing in front of the register like an idiot for 20 minutes, it should probably trigger your memory to check for the paper. Minimally a different employee should have asked if we had been helped and followed up. read more

2015 YELP 100 CHALLENGE - 067/100 Typical Hallmark store, lots of trinkets and cards for every type of occasion and feeling. Good prices and lots of variety too. With that said, It's a cards & stationery store, I don't need a cashier following me and hounding me through the aisles asking me what I'm shopping for, what did I have in mind, can she help me pick a card, seriously?? I'm happy with a friendly greeting and all, but I think she made a split second judgement the moment my friend and I walked in and pounced on us, making the entire experience uncomfortable. And she knew it because she seemed embarressed while ringing us up... well lady so were we because you made us feel like we look like shoplifters. I simply needed 45seconds to walk in, choose a card, and leave. I get that the shrink must be high in a store with tons of tiny items all over, but someone needs better training on loss prevention tactics. I'd rather make an extra stop somewhere else than deal with that uncomfortable experience ever again. read more

Very disappointed in this Hallmark Store. I used to shop there when it was Lynn's-and it was better run! Plus Hallmark needs to correct their website as far as quanities of their ornaments! I drove to Amy's Hallmark at Westfield Santa Anita to pick up a "Santa's Signal Ornament" for a gift, specifically because the website said it was in stock there. After not finding any of the ornament on the shelf and being ignored for 5 minutes by the clerks at the counter 2 feet away, I took the store model off it's hook, made sure it worked, and got in line for another 5 minutes to ask if they had any more. Unfortunately the very gruff clerk informed me that they didn't have any more in stock, didn't know if they would get any more in stock, and then refused to sell me the store model! When I questioned this and asked to have a call back for when they did sell the store model, she snottily told me I'd be on a waiting list and grudgingly put me on it. She refused to check with the manager re the discrepancy and had the service mentality of a 2 year old! I've shopped this store since it opened, but never have I been so dissed and so thoroughly!
