They cut a pice of tape, put on the counter and said "if you wanna do it yourself ", then walked away.

I went in to grab a quick gift...for the most part I knew exactly what I was looking for (candles). I wasn't greeted or acknowledge, plenty of side bar conversations amongst associates. Scenario: Myself and another customer are being checked out at the same time on December 22nd 5:30pm. Customer A is asked "Is this a gift? "Can I remove the prices for you and send you with extra tissue?" Customer B is given a total, and sent on her way. When customer B asks if she too can have the prices removed she was stared at with the blank face, and told be the second cashier " it's a courtesy, we don't have to do that for you", as the original associate walks away. Customer B is left to remove prices herself and re wrap her own purchase while a third cashier walks up and whispers " is she OK? What is she doing?" Customer A is middle-aged, white woman. Customer B early 40's, Hispanic. The level of service was inconsistent and awkward. I was disappointed and embarrassed when I'm told that " it's a courtesy, and we don't have to do it for you"..... and THEY DIDN'T do it for me. Lovely that every customer after me that was checked out while I was attempting to re-wrap my purchase after removing the tags was greeted with a sugary, sweet attitude. All because I wanted the price removed in Store so that when the candleholders were re-wrapped the anthropology sticker at the end won't appear torn, but in pristine condition when gifted to a friend.

They were here last year for the month of October, and it seems they've returned for the same time this year. There's plenty of parking in this area, and it's conveniently situated next to the newly opened Dollar Tree. Out of all the Spirit Halloween stores I've visited, this one is definitely one of the nicer ones. It's larger, with more space to move around, cleaner, and much better organized, with fewer crowds compared to other locations. Right when you walk in, you're greeted by impressive Halloween displays and moving animatronics. These are available for purchase but tend to be on the pricier side. The technology behind these displays seems to have evolved, with some animatronics even featuring sensor tracking--so their faces move as if they're watching you. This year, it seems they're going for a carnival theme, with decor like the "Wheel of Fate," "Down the Duck," and "World Famous Side Shows" stage, complete with a ticket booth and a walk-through "Fun House." It's all very inventive and adds to the spooky atmosphere. There's a huge selection of Halloween-related items here, from costumes to accessories. You'll find masks, pumpkin carving kits, and an extensive collection of costumes. They have everything from the classic skeletons and ghosts to themed characters. I was particularly impressed by the Spongebob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Harry Potter sections. However, the costumes are on the expensive side--for example, the Squidward inflatable costume is a hefty $59.99! Some of these costumes, like Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy, could easily be made for cheaper with a bit of DIY effort. Regardless, if you're looking to get into the Halloween spirit, this is a great spot to visit. The displays are fun, the selection is wide, and even though the prices can be high, it's still worth checking out for the experience alone.

However, Spirit Halloween has kept their prices fairly low despite inflation. You can usually put together something nice by buying separate pieces. Here you can find a wide variety of hand-crafted goods. And there is quite a myriad of objects on display. There are a large number of hand-woven bags, rugs and tapestries for use or display (or both). One wall is almost entirely devoted to jewelry. And there's a very large collection of pottery, including bowls, dishes and coffee mugs. This place is an excellent place to shop for those who are intrigued by foreign cultures. And the prices are extremely reasonable. And besides for being reasonable, you can find nice pieces in the under ten dollar range, well into the one hundred and fifty or more. There really is something for any budget. I was greeted when I entered the store and asked if I needed help...but was not asked every five minutes (something that I see as a major plus). Check out was a breeze with the clerk on duty. I will definitely come again.

The manager Laurel was so kind and welcomed me in! She answered all of my questions and explained to me how to the items are sourced and selected for the shop. This is a BEAUTIFUL shop with the most incredible selection of affordable gifts and treasures. Bright, cheery, and well-organized. I didn't intend to buy so much, but I found something for each member of my family and a few friends, too. My favorites were the ornaments, children's area, kitchen items (aprons, dish towels) and the beautiful jewelry!! I had so much fun browsing and I am thrilled with my purchases. Thank you, Laurel! You are running a fab shop here in Pasadena and I can't wait to return!
