The price is what I would expect for an independent bookstore. However, the bookstore recently changed hands and I'm updating my opinion to a 3 star. It's totally cool for you to want to update things and make it your own but there is a way to communicate that to customers without being negative about the previous owners. There is a diverse selection of books in the store already--pointing to your black daughter and talking about how you want to increase diversity in the store not cool. Also saying to your daughter "this is our new store not a place for you to lounge around" within earshot of customers not cool. I won't be going back. I will be giving my money to Elmside Books in Milton and Thirst in Milwaukee instead.

The employees all seem very friendly except for one who was very rushed and short when I asked her a question. She seemed like she didn't have time for me. With covid and everything, I might have just caught her/them on a bad day. I found everything I was looking for and then some. Waited in line for about 10 minutes, which felt long, since they only had one person at the registers and I wished it would have gone a bit faster. My experience was nothing to write home about but still glad to have a place like this to go when hosting a party!

I told her I once had a premium account but I thought it had lapsed and I might need to renew. She asked which kind of membership I had and I told her I wasn't sure. She told me I had to know or she couldn't process it. She entered my phone number and rang up the order as a basic membership. I let it go and shopped there a few more times without being asked which type of membership I had. Last Friday, I was waiting to check out, and the woman ahead of me was asked for her phone number to enter for rewards. When I checked out, I wasn't asked so I asked the clerk if she didn't want to enter my phone number for rewards. She was generally kind of rude but did enter the numbee and didn't ask about a membership type. When I got out to my car, I logged into my account. It indicated that I had a basic membership but listed the differences between the basic and premium and allowed me to upgrade. I upgraded without incident. I think the staff should know how to access the membership type and should be able to upgrade for you if you are willing to pay the cost of a premium account. The staff on the floor seem nice and helpful but checking out could be a more pleasant experience.

I wanted to purchase the pre-assembled chair because far too many times, I've gotten home with one to assemble + there have been issues. But they wouldn't let me purchase that chair. We assembled one of the chairs and from the start, it was popping, tilting left/right and I wasn't able to adjust the tension. Today was the soonest my husband (working in a different location) was able to drive up, take it apart and reassemble just to make sure we didn't miss something. Discovered the tension knob does nothing, so when you rock you go waaaayy back and you can't adjust it. The base is off and the chair tilts left and right. Despite being told that we had 30 days to return the chairs, and today's the 20th day, read the fine print and look for signage that supposedly exists in the store. With furniture you assemble, you have to disassemble it, put in original packaging and return within FOURTEEN days! Otherwise, you have to contact the manufacturer. We spent close to $900 and were planning to return for a standing desk. We won't now.

Came here this year for the same thing, we were able to engrave the front and not the back. I came back to get the engraving finished after a few minutes and was COMPLETELY IGNORED BY STAFF. I was met with "the engraving machine is down". No solutions, no help, and no eye contact. It was a SOL situation. Front of my pendant was engraved and not the back as I needed.
