I went with them hoping it would be closer to $60. When the locksmith came, he LOOKED at my bike, didn't even check anything, and immediately said $120. He then proceeds to get an angle grinder and easily takes the lock off in no more 15secs. So I basically paid $10/sec; that doesn't seem right to me. Keep in mind you can just rent an angle grinder for a few hours for less than $30. I'm giving 3-stars and not lower because the price range was comparable to other vendors that I called (they had a higher low-end). I just can't view my experience as totally satisfied for how much I paid for what was clearly a very easy job. I know there are definitely some tough locksmith jobs I've witnessed; this wasn't one of them.

This new key did everything except open the trunk. Initially, I said ok let's see if I can work with this. Tony assured me he would guarantee his services and repair anything if I was not satisfied. I called him back and let him know I really needed that remote to open the trunk too. He said no problem he would order a new key and try to remedy the situation. I waited the first day after our conversation and he did not contact me, so I called him the next day. He said he would have the key the following day which was a Saturday. I called Saturday he had not received the new key so we set it for Monday. Monday nothing happened. So I call again Tuesday he said he would be out. He never shows so I called and at this point, he says he is just going to take back the key, give me my money back and give me back my old FOB. So once again I was going to be keyless. He said I could go to the dealer. Now I was very patient and kind with this man. This man expected me to accept mediocre, he did not care that I would be left without a key and he told me I could just go to the dealer if I didn't want to accept this key that did not open the trunk. It was obvious he did not wish to take the time to program another key and troubleshoot to make certain it would open the trunk. He treated me awful. He would not even try another key. When he arrived I asked why he could not or would not at least try to remedy the situation? He said he would have to run a diagnostic and that he did not wish to touch my car or be responsible. Now what that had to do with the key I don't know. He said that he would be losing money. He asked for his old receipt back, gave me my old key and my money back. I told him this was not good business. To not even try? He drives around in a brand new Mercedes Van and he obviously has big money and more important jobs than my little key. He was arrogant and so unprofessional. He obviously has made it big for himself and has forgotten where he has come from and how he got there. Me being a woman alone disabled and looking for someone to help me and him with a POMPOUS attitude, he just DID NOT CARE! Plus I am a Black Woman. I guarantee you he would not have done this to his own. Not ever. I even told him that this was not cool and he would not want someone to do his wife or daughter this way. So I am without a key and back on the search for someone who can come out and make me a key that is not at dealer prices. I would not ever recommend this man. He obviously does not need our little money because he quickly threw back my $200 cash so he would not have to remedy the problem as he had promised he would do, as he drove off in his brand new Mercedes Van leaving me stranded and keyless. He also did not keep his word. Not at all! I think we need to take back our neighborhoods and communities and open up more Black businesses that cover all sectors. I am not prejudiced but I do believe I was definitely discriminated against today because there was no reason for this. So I will be an advocate to push, promote and support black businesses in our communities. I try to be fair but I straight out witnessed some serious nonsense today! What I did not know is they contract out with other independent locksmiths--similar to Angie's List. My issue was not an emergency, and I informed the representative. When the locksmith arrived he went right to work with his drill and drilled through the lock in less than 2 minutes. Definitely something I could have done if I had a drill. Service Requested: There were two things I have come to Lupe's for which was rekeying several locks so i was only operating off two keys (down from 5) and then I went to the shop to get copies made in mass for employees. For the rekeying service, Lupe came with his mobile van and was able to change all my locks without any issue. Lupe is a master at his craft and is friendly, accommodating, and efficient in preforming it. For the copies I went to the store and Tony made them extremely fast and precise. It was much faster and better than the auto-kiosks you will see in home improvement stores. Quality: My rekeyed locks work great and the copies were flawless. Great quality.
