I am only giving a 1 because 0 was not an option! Terrible place....the place stinks, very untidy, they do not listen to your concerns. My dogs have been badly cut and scalped for the last time! Terrible place....if you value your fur baby DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!

Our dog, Theo, needs consistent levels of activity in his schedule or he can start to get bored (and sometime destructive). While we do lots of walks and dog park trips, we felt like a weekly doggy daycare visit would help him blow off some steam, give him some socialization with new dogs and people, and relieve our schedules a bit. We're also big believers that regular exercise is some of the best "training" you can do for a dog - dogs with too much energy seem much more likely to get into trouble. So why Dog River Retreat? It's by far the best option out there in terms of providing supervision, allowing dogs to be dogs in large outdoor grassy spaces, and it's convenient. When I started my doggy daycare research, I found that most options in the city were overcrowded, loud, and mostly concrete. That environment didn't seem like a good fit for a sensitive rescue dog like ours, and feels potentially dangerous (I wasn't surprised to read reviews of dogs getting hurt or coming home with cuts and scrapes). Dog River Retreat felt like the opposite, with lots of space to spread out, sniff, and opt in or out of group play. I was so happy to find an option with spacious, natural outdoor space - if your dog loves going to dog parks, this is the right place. While not physically located in the city of Atlanta, Cruise does regular pick-ups and drop-offs in the city for no extra charge - hard to beat door-to-door service! Cruise is really great with the dogs and an excellent communicator, texting us when he's 10-15 minutes out (or he's also fine with using a lockbox key if you're not home during pick up or drop off). He also provides us with photo and video updates, and Theo always looks like he's having the best time. Typically, he's gone from about 8am and back by around 3pm - he comes home happy and almost immediately climbs into bed and passes out for the rest of the day. The price is consistent with any of the other options in the city and feels well worth it. Thank you Cruise for providing a safe and fun outlet for our city dog!

I've been bringing Luna and Charlie to dog River Retreat for a couple weeks now and they Love it! I…read moredrop them off and pick them up myself since I live in Whitesburg/Carrollton area. They LOVE being outdoors and the exercise is so good for them. We've tried other doggy "day care" places and they don't get to be outdoors enough at the other places. I will be using them for overnight boarding as well.

After over 30 calls to different pet boarding facilities and All saying " sorry,we are completely booked for the Thanksgiving holiday" Guided Footsteps Canine Camp came to my rescues! I will be fully transparent I am very protective of my fur babies so was a bit hesitant at first as I was only use to one specific boarding school to watch them however there was only room for my feline at that facility and not my canine. So unfortunately they were going to be separated. Alicia from Guided Footsteps was so thorough with her processes, very informative, communication remained consistent. To add, Alicia had A-1 review ratings, testimonials on google and her official website. Once o was able to get all my questions answered and agree to boarding, Alicia sent all her paper work electronically to review and sign off on. Very easy confident process. She also gives you an itemized break down of your daily charges for you to review before confirming the booking. There was no pressure, no fine print, no hidden fees, everything was straight forward. Alicia also has 5 fur babies of her own in which one happens to be a black lab name Buddy who looked like a twin to my black lab Onyx which was very cool! Onyx gained 5 new besties and I can tell he missed them. Alicia sent us daily updates and attached photos of Onyx playing or relaxing. She sent us the absolute cutest thanksgiving photo I'll post with this review. Alicia's proactiveness and communication brought my family and I lots of comforts knowing our Onyx was in great hands! I absolutely do plan to utilize Alicia's services in the future. She has been a true blessing and nothing but amazing! I highly recommend Guided Footsteps Canine Camp!

DO NOT USE BARKS AND BUBBLES IN CARROLLTON I left my dogs at Barks and Bubbles for a total of 5…read moredays 4 nights while we went to PCB 6-19/6-24. I boarded both Patches and Gordo. As soon as we dropped our dogs off, I had a bad feeling and I called a friend. I told her, I felt uncomfortable and weary about leaving them there because when I dropped them off, I wasn't asked 1 question about either of my dogs. No tour of the facility, no warm welcome, nothing. I did however write everything down on their boarding sheet and was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I then tried to offer the information because it was mind boggling that there was no communication. Throughout the duration of the vacation, we didn't receive any calls or updates. Upon picking them up, I was given back the left over food and medicine. The morning I dropped off the dogs, I measured out exactly how much food was needed. Patches normally eats 7-10 cups of food a day. That seems like a lot but for a 100lb Great Dane, this is normal. I left feeding instructions for I believe 5 cups of food a day, I debated on putting 5 or 7, and I can't quite remember which one. I took the liberty of cutting back her food intake while being boarded. When I picked her up, I received back almost ALL of her food. There was probably not even 1 gallon bag of food eaten. When I saw this I was astonished and said why does my dog have so much food left, and the answer was, well we don't typically feed them as much food since they are being boarded. Like what? So I entrust my dogs with you, leave instructions etc and then you just decide to do whatever you please? The lady could clearly see I was pissed tf off and she said well, I think your dog was sick for 2 days with diarrhea. Mind you, I never received any communication about her being sick or having diarrhea. Then the owner Misty called me as I walked in the door because the lady I picked the dogs up from knew I was clearly aggravated. She wanted to call and smooth things over. Her story of why my dog wasn't fed was all over the place. I'm throughly disturbed by this experience and I do not recommend them.
