    Disappointed

Disappointed and angry! My dog is 4 and half years old and has been going to Pet Set for 4 years. Boarding and day care. He loved it and the staff there! Something with their care has shifted. My dog usually gets excited when I pull up to the building. But this time was different. I had to pull him out the car to go into the building. When we got inside he wasn't excited like usual to in the back, the staff actually picked him up to carry him to the back. He is 33lbs. He was terrified but I didn't know that then. You see the last time he was boarded he came home with what the said was a "hot spot ". I asked how did he get a hot spot on the top of his head. I was told he came in with a hot spot, we do body checks when they first come in. I do body checks constantly myself and know he didn't come in like that. Now yesterday my husband picked him up from a 4 day stay and again he has an " hot spot " but this time it looked worse than before, we took him to the vet they said it looks like trauma to his head. Two swollen lumps on the top of his head, antibiotics for 10 days and he had to wear a cone. He has not been himself since coming home. We are outraged, upset, hurt and sad that we let him down. He trusts us to take care of him and this happens. We will never go back to that place ever again! I hope you don't either. Protect your babies.

My dogs love this place. I have 2 yorkies (Romeo & Monie). My dogs stay at Pet Set at least 5 to 6 times a year. As soon as we pull into the parking lot they start whining and shaking their tails with joy. This gives me comfort in knowing that they are treated well. I also love that they offer a bath (value price) when I come pick them up. Makes me want to hug and kiss them more because they smell so good. My dogs will be there next week.

Happy 4th Birthday Max We love you so much!!!

Omgosh! Did they give my doggie a birthday party? Indeed they did on July 31st. Okay, here's a little back story, my dog, Max and I relocated to the Douglasville, GA area a year ago. One day, after leaving another pet location I was in search of a place to groom Max and a play date. I drove past Pet Set Stay and Play after I noticed two big animal balloons in front of the store. I quickly turned around and walked inside to inquire about pet services. I was greeted by Jannie, who graciously stated Max could be groomed that day and they would call me for a pickup time. I ran my errands and returned to see my favorite friend wagging his tail in delight! From that day on we became quick friends, while Max continues to enjoy his fabulous groom days, daycare, and boarding with his doggy friends. At the end of July, Max's enjoyed his 4th Birthday with a spectacular party planned with his buddies from daycare, and staff members attending the celebration. Did you say doggie cake, balloons, birthday hat, and tie? The doggie gifts were a special surprise! Jannie did an amazing job. Yes, I was ecstatic! Check out the pictures and judge for yourself, the best party ever! Thanks to everyone at Pet Set Stay and Play! We feel like family.

We were recommended this place and imextremely disappointed and pissed. I had my dog there for boarding for 5.5 days. He went in there fine no scara or rashes. I picked him up todayand he had not gotten his shower. Then i said that i would wait for them to shower him. They brought him to me still wet and he stunk. They said he was giving them a hard time coming out of the cage and during the bath which he never does. They bring him to my car and i see a huge rash around his body. They said it was possibky from the shower since thats when they noticed it. Then i saw a scab on his mouth like his mouth was dragged against the concrete. I definitely will not be bringing my dog back to this place.

We had a good experience with our groomer. It took a bit longer than expected but they were patient with me when I asked to change his cut up. Kirby came home a happy pup and that's what matters to me.

Our dog, Theo, needs consistent levels of activity in his schedule or he can start to get bored (and sometime destructive). While we do lots of walks and dog park trips, we felt like a weekly doggy daycare visit would help him blow off some steam, give him some socialization with new dogs and people, and relieve our schedules a bit. We're also big believers that regular exercise is some of the best "training" you can do for a dog - dogs with too much energy seem much more likely to get into trouble. So why Dog River Retreat? It's by far the best option out there in terms of providing supervision, allowing dogs to be dogs in large outdoor grassy spaces, and it's convenient. When I started my doggy daycare research, I found that most options in the city were overcrowded, loud, and mostly concrete. That environment didn't seem like a good fit for a sensitive rescue dog like ours, and feels potentially dangerous (I wasn't surprised to read reviews of dogs getting hurt or coming home with cuts and scrapes). Dog River Retreat felt like the opposite, with lots of space to spread out, sniff, and opt in or out of group play. I was so happy to find an option with spacious, natural outdoor space - if your dog loves going to dog parks, this is the right place. While not physically located in the city of Atlanta, Cruise does regular pick-ups and drop-offs in the city for no extra charge - hard to beat door-to-door service! Cruise is really great with the dogs and an excellent communicator, texting us when he's 10-15 minutes out (or he's also fine with using a lockbox key if you're not home during pick up or drop off). He also provides us with photo and video updates, and Theo always looks like he's having the best time. Typically, he's gone from about 8am and back by around 3pm - he comes home happy and almost immediately climbs into bed and passes out for the rest of the day. The price is consistent with any of the other options in the city and feels well worth it. Thank you Cruise for providing a safe and fun outlet for our city dog!

After over 30 calls to different pet boarding facilities and All saying " sorry,we are completely booked for the Thanksgiving holiday" Guided Footsteps Canine Camp came to my rescues! I will be fully transparent I am very protective of my fur babies so was a bit hesitant at first as I was only use to one specific boarding school to watch them however there was only room for my feline at that facility and not my canine. So unfortunately they were going to be separated. Alicia from Guided Footsteps was so thorough with her processes, very informative, communication remained consistent. To add, Alicia had A-1 review ratings, testimonials on google and her official website. Once o was able to get all my questions answered and agree to boarding, Alicia sent all her paper work electronically to review and sign off on. Very easy confident process. She also gives you an itemized break down of your daily charges for you to review before confirming the booking. There was no pressure, no fine print, no hidden fees, everything was straight forward. Alicia also has 5 fur babies of her own in which one happens to be a black lab name Buddy who looked like a twin to my black lab Onyx which was very cool! Onyx gained 5 new besties and I can tell he missed them. Alicia sent us daily updates and attached photos of Onyx playing or relaxing. She sent us the absolute cutest thanksgiving photo I'll post with this review. Alicia's proactiveness and communication brought my family and I lots of comforts knowing our Onyx was in great hands! I absolutely do plan to utilize Alicia's services in the future. She has been a true blessing and nothing but amazing! I highly recommend Guided Footsteps Canine Camp!

Google reviews Worst…read morething I've ever done to my cat. In less than one week she's dead. I took my cat, Bluie, a Russian Blue cat, there on July 2, 2026, because I believe she was not doing too well and not eating. She was a complete inside cat, healthy, and never been sick. She's on a complete FF canned food diet. However, lately when she gets completely hungry and tried to eat dry cat food, she threw it up undigested. I thought something was wrong with her teeth. She was diagnosed that day with inflammation in her mouth and I was told to bring her back on Monday, July 6, for a dental surgery. Although she had bloodwork done there, her kidney function was a little off, her LABWORK results were minimized. When I picked up Bluie that afternoon after surgery, I found out there were four (4) teeth pulled at once, which I believe was too much of a blow to an 8 lb cat's body. She was given a 48 hour shot for pain and I was told to continue giving her the liquid Clindamycin antibiotic. When I got her back home after surgery, she ate and drink since she still had the effect of the pain med. After 48 hours of her dental surgery, she was barely eating or drinking. I called the Vet's clinic and spoke with Dr. Kay and told him Bluie was barely eating or drinking and could not open her mouth. He told me to quit giving her the antibiotics that maybe upsetting her stomach, and he prescribed a cream stimulant, Mirataz, to apply inside the flap of her ear. A friend of mine picked up that cream and I applied it to Bluie's ear, but it did not work. Bluie was still not eating. Per Dr Kay, if Bluie was still not doing well take her to the vet ER clinic. We took her to an ER vet clinic called Westside vet ER clinic at Thornton Rd, Lithia Springs, GA. The vet there, female vet Barnes, was another trip. I explained to her what's happening with Bluie. I called that clinic 4 times during the day. My first call was at midday, I was able to speak with the nurse who told me there's no change in Bluie. I was concerned so I called 3 more times and spoke with just the receptionist who told me Bluie was resting and sleeping comfortably. They left her there with an IV, B12, and Potassium, and did not bother to make an effort feed her. I know she was dehydrated and getting weak for not being able to eat or drink for 6 days straight. Around 8 pm I called again and spoke with a different vet, Myers. She said she will give her anti inflammatory since pain med is not good for her kidneys, and stimulant. In about an hour she called me back and said Bluie ate and drank. The following morning, we were to pick her up at 7am. We were asked to wait outside, and they will deliver the cat to us outside. I was not able to speak with any ER staff although they charge you an arm and a leg. I was told to bring Bluie back to her local vet. On our way back to our local vet, Bluie was vocalizing much, which sounds like she was in so much pain and had to wait for about an hour before they open. We took her back to the local vet, but Dr Kay was on vacation all week. I saw vet Marshall. She said I said "Bluie was not eating." Vet Marshall said "She should be losing weight, but she gained a tenth of a lb." She did not even bother looking at her LABWORK before she talked to me. I told her she's bloated in her tummy. She asked my position about my cat. I told her "They need to do what they can to bring her back to health." She made a generalized assumption that she was an old cat, 14 yo cat, and what about the quality of her life. She then left the room. I don't like this female vet because she never showed any compassion about what I'm going through. She was a rambunctious, healthy cat before her 4 teeth dental surgery. For a human who had a one tooth extraction was too much of a pain much less an 8 lbs cat with all 4 teeth pulled at once. Vet Marshall took Bluie back, and around 3 pm on July 13, she called me. She said they tried to slowly remove the fluid accumulation in Bluie's tummy BUT also said I need to take Bluie to another Vet ER specialty clinic and recommended 2 places. Dogwood Vet Specialty ER was the closest one, but it's in Roswell, GA. We took Bluie there, but it took more than an hour. Bluie was squirming in her carrier, on my lap, all the way there. By the time we got there, it was too late. Bluie became septic. We just left the ER clinic when the vet there called me Bluie was gone. That's when I lost it. Six (6) days after her dental surgery, and these vets that I trusted did not do the best they could do to help my cat, specifically giving me a generalized assessment that I have an older cat. She's a healthy cat for 14 years and healthy cats live more than 20 years. I was willing to spend all I have to spare my cat's life, and they sure did charge you a hefty amount, but I think some of these vets don't really care. Run and don't let those vets touch your cat/dog/etc. family member if you need a vet. The only person who reached out to m

At an annual examination, the technician told me that, because my dog has been continuously protected with Simparica Trio since puppyhood, a heartworm-test waiver was available. I relied on that information. When I later requested his prescription, the receptionist told me it could not be filled because I had declined the test. I calmly explained that I had followed the technician's instructions. While I stood in the lobby, I overheard the receptionist emphatically exclaim to the veterinarian and technician that I was "angry." That was completely false. I never raised my voice. I never argued. I was never confrontational. I simply asked about conflicting information provided by the hospital's own staff. As a Black woman, being falsely labeled "angry" carries a meaning that cannot be ignored. It reflects one of the most persistent racial stereotypes directed at Black women and was deeply humiliating to hear applied to me when I had remained calm throughout the encounter. At the front counter during checkout, once the technician told me the heartworm test was actually required, I immediately authorized it. There was no argument. There was no refusal. There was no hostility. Prior to leaving, I confronted Jessica about falsely characterizing me. She simply apologized. However, by then, the damage had already been done. After nearly five years with this practice, I requested my dog's records that same day and transferred his care elsewhere. I expect honesty from veterinary professionals. I expect respectful treatment. And I expect not to be stereotyped because of my race when I ask a reasonable question. Douglasville Veterinary Hospital failed on all three.
