It has now been several months, and despite multiple attempts to follow up, I have received no callback and no resolution. What has been most upsetting is the lack of accountability and communication regarding the negligence of the maître d' and the handling of our concerns afterward. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and while mistakes can happen, ignoring your clients after the fact is unacceptable. At this point, I am publicly asking for an owner to contact me directly to properly address this situation. Serving someone deviled eggs shouldn't take 45 minutes, and the calamari was frozen, so we are unsure why the opening of the service was so slow. It was almost as if the chef was deviling the eggs right at that time and for the amount of time we waited she would've have to have been cutting and battering a squid in the flesh which I know was not happening in there. Also, just to note the restaurant wasn't full. There were probably four other tables with diners. At this point, our toddler is starting to get increasingly restless, as it has been an hour and change, and the entrées have not been delivered yet at this time. My husband and I are taking turns to go into the lobby to distract her and get her moving so she wouldn't have a meltdown in the restaurant. We keep inquiring about where the dinner was and we're told several times "it's on its way" or "it's coming soon". Flash forward to 7:30pm. My mother-in-law told me they comped the grilled cheese from the check (and again, I wouldn't know because I had to leave) but comping a $10 item that you forgot to put in, in the first place is not enough for the bad experience overall.
