Ana Bandeira is a super unique store that I wish I had visited more often. Everything they make seems to be well crafted, but especially their chocolates. The passionfruit-filled one was my absolute favorite. Good quality ingredients are evident in these chocolates. I'm really anxious to try their hot chocolates as they make several different kinds using legit chocolate, not the powdery fake stuff. They also make sandwiches and some other light foods that looked really good and another reason to stop by again in the future. The young lady working that day was very helpful and friendly. Well. Who knew? I've been here for a delicious pastry from time to time, but I am now sitting outside eating the most delicious breakfast I have had all year! It is a light, delicious omelette with cheddar and amazing mushrooms. Came with an English muffin, strawberry jam with whole strawberries in it, and a side salad for goodness sake. I've been coming to Northampton for over two decades, and I was surprised to see ABC while walking to lunch. It seems less than a year old from what I can gather. Around mid-afternoon, I stopped for desserts to bring home to my wife and son. I tried a brownie, a chocolate chip cookie, a piece of chocolate bark, and a savory galette. Overall, these items were about average. The household favorite was the brownie. It had good flavor and texture. The chocolate chip cookie was decent, but not really noteworthy. The bark had a unique point of review. The only add in seemed to be those thin crispy matchstick potatoes you can buy in grocery stores. The chocolate was on the sweet side and the potatoes didn't really work for me. I prefer the classic add ins like nuts, salt and fruit. The savory galette didn't work for me either. It had some type of cheese, apple and onions (I think), but the flavor was completely dominated by what seemed like a bit of Dijon mustard. The flavor was too assertive. The texture was fine, but not on par with my favorite bakeries. The shop was cute. There were a number of people hanging out and/or working. I posted a pic of available drinks, but I already had a coffee. Service was friendly. Three Stars. I probably wouldn't repeat, but it may be worth a visit if you haven't been. read more

We stopped in on vacation in Northampton and had a good experience. The cafe is beautiful, chocolates look amazing and there is a good assortments of baked goods and savory food options. The girl at the front register recommended a Spanish latte (it was awesome) and made some food recommendations to my husband. I had pao de quejo. They were yummy, but I was told they were fresh out of the oven and they definitely weren't. My husband had a benedict that he was really excited about but ended up being so lemony that it took over the taste of the rest of the dish. My friend's daughter who attends college nearby recommended stopping here. Their chocolate has a higher sugar content than Dandelion in San Francisco, which made my taste buds happy. Their ratio of tea leaves to tea is, IMO, off. Way too much tea for the amount of water in the cup. If I were to come back I'd ask for 1/2 of the leaves "to go" to make later, or ask for a large to-go cup. Cute little chocolate shop otherwise. It hits the sugar cravings. read more

SUCH AMAZING BAKED GOODS AND FOOD!!! I LOVED the danishes and chocolate guava croissant ESPECIALLY. We kept going back up to order more and more goodies. We got 'real' food as well and it was very solidly good! The coffee and tea were good too! We sampled the chocolate and were blown away. The service was so friendly and helpful which was lovely! The shop itself is adorable; large enough for ample seating but small enough to feel comfy. Great vibe. Absolutely loved the whole experience and would very highly recommend!!! read more

He didn't engage me but the woman helping me was super friendly and gave out fabulous tips & insights for other bakeries in the area. Stopped in to check out this new location, previously known as Cafe Lenox, and was pleasantly surprised. I met Dave, who opened the store, and as someone who has an appreciation for cacao it was nice to hear his knowledge on chocolate. He was exceedingly attentive in helping me narrow down a choice of drink & food. The eggs Benedict was amazing....English muffins, I was told were homemade, everything was scrumptious! My choice of drink was a hot chocolate which you have the choice of having American or European style! I stopped by at this quaint place for breakfast. The morning I walked in was it was quiet and rainy. The place has a beautiful interior with a faux brick wall and fairy lights strung everywhere, perfect for a rainy day. This place previously was called patisserie Lenox an amazing french patisserie with decadent pastries and food so I was so sad to see it close. However this place does a pretty good job at filling the role. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with ham and swiss cheese and a Brazilian cappuccino. Unfortunately they were out of whipped cream so I will have to come back to get the full experience. After ordering the service was quite speedy and the food arrived after only 3-4 minutes. I sat at a large table in front of the window and enjoyed the ambiance of NoHo. The drink was very good. I ordered my sandwich on a croissant and it was super flaky and the ham was great, not too tough. To my surprise the sandwich came with a salad. Nothing complicated only some simple greens. But the dressing was very good a citrus tangy dressing that pared perfect with the Sandwich. I couldn't leave without trying some of the chocolate. The employee working took me on a wonderful tour of all the chocolates and I picked out a cafe latte and a dark with walnuts. They were placed at a good price (about $3 an ounce) and were amazing. My only complaint would be the price of the food, I payed $20 for the sandwich and the drink but I guess that is what it's like everywhere these days :). I would definitely come back and enjoyed my experience here! read more

me and my friend were searching for someplace warm amidst the ravenous arctic winds and stumbled across this place. As soon as we entered we were pleased by the warmth in the atmosphere. upon ordering, we both asked for matcha lattes. Super excited to finally enjoy something hot. I asked the lady if the matcha came sweetened and she responded by saying the matcha was not sweetened and was not able to be sweetened as well. I glanced at my friend because I thought it was quite unusual there was no option to sweeten the matcha. But i ordered anyways. Per usual I fell for the peer pressured tip. So my $7.33 matcha was now $8.33. But I wasn't too mad about it because of how excited I was to enjoy my hot matcha latte. Once we finished ordering we found a seat and bantered for a bit. They called our names and we grabbed our drinks and sat back down, immediately noticing the hot matcha latte we were expecting was iced. Instantly shattering my heart. My attempt to warm up my body had failed and it wasn't even my fault. Normally, when a latte is ordered and having it iced was not specified, it would be served hot. But anyways, it was fine. As long as it tasted good. My friend took a sip first. when she took a sip the look on her face was so bad my heart sank. She looked like she had just seen her infant daughter slaughtered right in front of her. I looked at her and asked what was the matter, unsure as to why she had that reaction. She then began to explain how absolutely awful it was and how I HAD to take a sip for myself. Me and my friend are matcha fanatics and so we KNOW what's a good matcha and what isn't. So I ripped open my straw and regretfully so, took a sip. I instantly understood why she made the face she did. It was awful. As soon as I took a sip I was hit with the bitterness and chunkiness of the matcha powder. The bitterness I understood, but the chunkiness was unacceptable. Unbearable even. I added in some of their honey syrup in attempt to save it. But not even the honey could save it. Yes it was sweeter. But we simply could not get over how it felt like sand was in the drink. We made better matcha at home with the matcha packet we bought from walmart. Extremely disappointed. My friend was able to take AT MOST three sips before she decided she simply could not drink it. I made a sad attempt at chugging it but gave up 2 seconds in. I do not recommend this place at all. By the way when I asked for a matcha latte the worker went and checked their inventory because she wasn't sure if they had any. Maybe they don't make it much? I don't know. Or care.
