I stopped by here for a quick coffee and bagel sandwich yesterday. As expected on a Sunday morning, the place was buzzing. I really did enjoy the seating by the large sunny window. The layout and atmosphere in here is beautiful and just what a sunny brunch/breakfast spot should be. I got the goat in the garden bagel with lox. The bagel itself was very chewy. The goats cheese was plain and could have been dressed a little bit. Small things like adding dill and garlic to the cheese or dressing the sandwich with olive oil and arugula would do the trick here. Cold brew coffee was pretty standard but more on the watery side. My friend got a broccoli cheese scone which was delicious. read more

You can get a nice cappuccino here and a great pastry or loaf of bread. My only complaint is they have totally ignored my feedback about homeless folks taking advantage of them, to the detriment of customer experience. They literally panhandle right in front of the entrance every day and loiter for hours taking the prime seats. In short, they unfortunately don't respect the establishment. I don't know if the cafe chooses to ignore the feedback or it doesn't reach the top, but I think it may be time to rename themselves 'the shelter'. read more

Had one sip of a cafe mocha and that was all it took. It was not overly sweet but oh it was chocolaty. It wasn't Mr.Tough Guy oh yeah 100% cacao no sugar bitter as hell I love my coffee black type chocolaty. Instead it was more like oh wow it's like they said screw it and added Swiss Miss to my coffee and I'm going to pretend I don't absolutely love Swiss Miss but this is a real coffee shop so I know it's not type chocolaty. I am also surprised chocolaty is a real word. Anyways, I always get cafe mochas when I get coffee so I'll admit I get around with this drink. I will also admit that this is the best one I've had for my personal likings. Not too bitter, not too sweet, but I can damn well stoll taste the chocolate. Sometimes I get one and the only mocha thing about it is the powder that doesn't mix well at the bottom. This was far from that. The whipped cream at the top just spoiled me too. I mean I would drive 40 minutes for this every Sunday. Overall this place was pretty cool. Really busy when I went on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of outdoor seating and plenty of options. Service was also fast and friendly. I felt like I was at a busy Starbucks because they were working pretty hard back there. Anyways, I certainly loved their cafe mocha. Lively & bustling cafe with a quiet room for computer work. Lots of people made this bakery feel like the place to be. Delicious smoked tofu veggie sandwich .. .. which made me feel better about eating a cannoli as well. Lol The cannoli she'll was crisp and drag with a creamy filling that although wasn't traditional but hit the mark with its ricotta texture with a pleasant mild flavor. As an Italian American, I'm always looking for the bits of candied orange & sometimes small chocolate chips in the ricotta and pistachios for the ends. I would imagine that may cause issues for allergies. The service was friendly, helpful and insightful with regard to my needs as a patron. The owner was an out-going woman who exuded pride and passion for her work in serving the community. Northampton is lucky to have a cafe committed to providing fresh & tasty food. read more

The ginger molasses cookies have a chokehold on me. When I moved to Vermont my brother would bring them up. And this time while I was in town I ordered two. That's all I ever want or need from here. You really can't go wrong with any of the bakery items. Their key lime pie is amazing. Their fig or raspberry bars are lovely. And I loved getting a coffee that you can jazz up at the coffee station. it's a wonderful place, often crowded, but there's always a seat if you go at the right time. Everyone who works there is kind, and their pastries are some of the best in the neighborhood. Love this cafe! We travel from out of state a a few times a year and this is always a stop whenever we are in North Hampton. Great lunch and coffee shop. But this is where the Wow is- in their baked goods. Whether it's the bread pudding, lemon bar or my all-time favorite ginger molasses cookies. These are crispy on the edge and chewy in the center with just the right amount of molasses and a generous amount of ginger. But this trip, we decided to try an eclair and when I tell you, this was one of the best that I've ever had, I am not exaggerating. It was not dry at all. The chocolate on top was real, and not some cheap frosting. The cream inside was the most delicate vanilla decadence. And I must add they are not stingy with that filling either. As always, they offer exceptional service and beautiful ambience. We love it in the warmer weather when we can sit outside, but there's also cozy nooks inside as well. Bravo Woodstar!!! Please don't change that recipe for either the eclair or those amazing ginger molasses cookies. read more

I used to come here often when I lived in Vermont 10 years ago. I came through here on a work trip and it was JUST AS AMAZING as I remember. I literally hype the hot chocolate up to people. Once again, Woodstar reminding their swooning customers who is boss. No debit/credit use for orders under $10 permitted. So for all of you potential customers who have generally forsaken cash for credit - and prefer to pay with your phone/card; you're out of luck. Frankly, if some gas station lets me charge a $1.50 bottle of water; I cannot see why Woodstar cannot let me charge something that costs 5x more like a coffee and bagel. Also, showing up at 7:30am on a weekday to find out they really don't serve breakfast. All I wanted was a breakfast sandwich - some eggs, cheese and maybe bacon on toast or a bagel. Every time I go here (and I try to go here every time I'm in NoHo) they hit it out of the ballpark! The coffee, the pastries, the sandwiches, all, are, so, YUM! I also love the granola and the loaves of banana bread. It can get a little crowded, but it's worth the wait in line. They have a wide array of drink options, and I enjoyed one of their vanilla lattes as well as a regular coffee (extra caffeinated...wohoo!). I also tried a few of their baked goods (all of which were fantastic) Although they have both indoor and outdoor seating the space is pretty small, so you might have to get lucky to find a seat. This place has continued to be one of my favs during the pandemic. It's ridiculously easy to order food online and to pick up your order. And their menu offers items of all levels of cost (and the option to choose half salad/sandwich) so that it's accessible no matter what's in my wallet. We ate here during a weekend trip to Northampton, mainly because they have gluten free options. Everything is baked and prepared in a kitchen where they also bake with regular flour and the gluten free and regular items share the same display cases, so the gluten free items would probably not be okay for someone with Celiac's disease, but would work for someone with a mild allergy to wheat. The food was hit or miss. I had a sandwich on gluten free bread, which was delicious and filling with roast beef, horseradish sauce, roasted peppers, cheese, etc. My husband got a sandwich on an everything bagel, but said the bagel was stale, and it looked like they were stingy with the toppings. We shared a gluten free cupcake with cream cheese frosting that was really good. We also got a lemon poppyseed muffin to go, and it was kind of dry and too sweet while missing the lemon flavor. The sandwiches were about $10 each, which seemed a bit high for this town. We got two small cups of coffee to go, which were each only filled about halfway to two-thirds full (I had to ask for more and struggled to get the guy's attention). The atmosphere is a little cramped and feels rushed, because they're so busy. Overall, I'd probably still come back here next time I'm in town. read more

This is my all time favorite. I come there regularly for a latte and something on the side. On days when both breakfast and lunch slip by me, I have one of their single serving focaccia, topped with tomato, olives and grated cheese, making it much more than a slice of bread. Their sandwiches are great, but, as I do not have a large appetite, I order a half sandwich. More restaurants should offer half sandwiches. Their pastries are all wonderful. The problem is deciding which one to enjoy. I bring my granddaughters their muffins and often take a loaf of challah to my daughter's house on a Friday.
