I stayed here with my husband, 2 children under 5yrs and our dog and it was great! The front desk employee was incredibly friendly and gave us a free bandana for our dog! There was a pet fee of $25-35 for the entire stay. I loved all the exposed wood in our room. It was very clean and cozy feeling. The beds looks so comfy with all the fluffy pillows but once you laid down, the pillows were basically flat. Luckily , we brought our own pillows so we weren't uncomfortable. This is an extremely basic old-style drive up motel - with a new paint job. Don't be fooled. It's still just a cheap hotel. It simply has no insulation between floors/walls so you hear EVERYTHING. There were maybe 5 of us in the hotel, but they put us all next to each other. I asked why they would do that, she said that's where the king beds were, and that's what everyone requested. So we got almost no sleep. The ice maker started to make extremely weird, loud noises around 2:00am. I think that woke everyone up. Because from that point on, I heard laughing, voices, footsteps, sinks, toilets flushing. It was horrible!! I knew this was a cheaper motel. But for just the night, how bad could it be!?!? Ugh. Barely a couple hours of sleep, that's how bad. Good - dog-friendly, rooms seemed clean, mattresses comfortable, mini-fridge. The weird metal sticking out of the wall pretending to be a bedside table is as weird and as bad as all the other reviews have said. Soooo dumb!! All our electronics, water bottles, hair clips, etc...on the floor. Ridiculous!! The shower at max temp is not really hot enough (hubby said it was ok, so that might be a girl thing??). Don't go out on the lawn!! Dog poop everywhere. Hubby & I both found that out the hard way. And our 'cheap' room, quoted at $84, ended up being $150 with taxes & dog fee. That is waaaaay too much for this caliber of motel. We won't be staying again. We don't think. Unfortunately Anacortes has almost no decent quality hotels. So we'll see if we can find something else for our overnight stays. (We often stay one night, so we can get a boat out in the morning). read more

Feels more like an Airbnb than a hotel/motel. Our room had two queen beds and was well decorated with a Scandinavian-type design. There was no insulation whatsoever in the ceiling/floor above. We would hear people walking and talking even through my earplugs. You can also hear street noise. There's a cute sitting area just adjacent to the lobby with a fireplace where people seemed to gather, which is nice, unless your room is right next to it (as ours was). The windows had shades but no blackout curtain. The WiFi signal wasn't strong enough to stream HBO on my phone. The "nightstand" was a small metal shelf mounted to the wall, shared between the two beds. The shower was broken in that water came out from both the shower head and the faucet below at the same time. As far as the positives, the mattress was very comfortable although the pillows are the flat/feather kind. The sink, which was metal and looked more like one you'd find in a kitchen, was separate from the toilet/bathtub, which I like so you can be brushing your teeth or washing anything while your partner uses the facilities. There were lots of hooks and places to store items which doesn't seem to come standard in hotels these days. As others have noted, there is no regular cable TV but it is easy to stream on the TV with apps for all the major services (Netflix, etc.) already installed. There's a keypad on the door, so you don't need to return physical keys to the office. To check out, you just need to send a text or call a number. There is easy and free onsite parking and friendly staff. We were here for just a brief overnight so it worked for what we needed but probably wouldn't stay here again because of the noise and bad WiFi. read more

This hotel is decorated in a minimalist style, to say it nicely. On the plus side, the beds are comfortable and they do have a mini-fridge. Our complaints come from the lack of outlets between the beds and the smallest table - no, actually it's only a shelf, between the beds. There are 2 queen size beds, so technically, there could have been four people staying there. We were just 2. That being said, we both have CPAPs. The shelf was too small to fit both CPAPs. Also, there is only one outlet. It comes with one USB outlet, too. Unfortunately, we each had one phone and one tablet. (Not to mention the CPAPs) The USB could only accommodate one phone, everything else had to be across the room. The reading light over the bed was a joke. It was certainly too dark to read by. If you are going to put 2 queen beds in a room, then the room should accommodate the needs of potentially four people, but at least two. We will never stay here again! read more

Very recently updated hotel, reopened a few weeks ago. Kitschy exterior facade updated with new paint & wood plank details. The interiors were face-lifted using unpainted plywood planks for shelving but the unpainted plywood sheets covering the ceiling was not very attractive. However, it was better than looking at old, dated popcorn ceiling. Attractive, colorful enameled wall hooks to hang damp towels & coats & modern colorful artwork made the rooms look modern & cheerful. There was no closet in the room. Room & bathroom were clean. A large stainless steel kitchen sink & nice single serve k-cup coffee maker with adorable aqua color retro-mini refrigerator complemented the room. The convenient location on the main drag, Commercial Street was close to grocery stores & restaurants. Two gripes, there was only one lamp with a single light bulb that swung either left or right between two queen beds. Only one person on one bed was able to read at night. Second, is that the smart tv was inconvenient if you do not subscribe to hulu, netflix, etc. Hotel provided "Pluto tv" which only showed old, old tv shows like Twilight Zone, Sanford & Sons, Golden Girls, etc. No access to MSNBC or local, national or international news. read more

You know. I have stayed in worse hotels and I've stayed in better. I stayed here for 5 weeks while working a turnaround at the refinery. They offer a weekly rate. House keeping comes twice a week. For the most part it's quiet at night. It's on the main drag with lots of options for food just minutes away. The only real downside of my stay was the wifi didn't reach our room. So streaming movies on the Xbox wasn't an option. And town basically shuts down at 8pm. When I come back, I may stay in Mt. Vernon. It's got the Walmart, drop off laundry service that's open later, and even more food options. Just a little longer drive to the refinery. Nothing against this hotel it was a good stay. Just making an extra trip once or twice a week to my Vernon sucked. read more

Room was nice but at checking she gave us an Aarp discount making it $127.20 per night she stated that was Wednesday and Thursday so upon check out Friday morning we asked for itemized statement. It was $175.20 for Thursday NOT the $127.20 she stated. That is $50 more than said. Well the lady at desk that gave us statement was very nice but couldn't help us she gave us am email of General manager in which we emailed and attached the invoice asking to correct the overcharge. Still no response. We have many family and friends that love Anacortes, WA but we will discourage any of them from staying here or will not recommend this place if Anacortes Inn don't honor what they say. read more

This is a very clean, newly complete hotel. It was only a couple minutes away from the ferry, so I was able to get a truly full day in the islands by staying here the night before. It's a great alternative to spending half your day in line at the ferry dock and then having to cut your island day down to only 4-5hours before you have to get back in line to catch the ferry home. This place had a very nice lady at the front desk that was up early to ensure we had a great experience and help us with anything we needed. I highly recommend this place because it's new, it has a great bed and interior finishings, and the price was hard to beat anywhere in the area. You will not regret staying here! read more

We found this place by luck. We were traveling by boat from Tacoma. We ran aground. The boat will take 3 weeks to fix. Anacortes Inn has been so welcoming. Staff is amazing. I would give 5 stars but there is not enough insulation between floors. We have had issues with noise. I will say the manager is on top of it and helping us with quiet hours. Not thrilled with the tv. Pluto sucks. Would prefer cable. So thankful it is also pet friendly. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Great place to stay if you like sleeping with bed bugs! The price was right, room appeared clean - but when we went to bed we got attacked by creepy, crawly bed bugs. We immediately packed up and checked out as fast as we could. Driving home around midnight in the pouring rain was not a fun experience to say the least. The management was unapologetic and even accused us of causing a scene, aggressively filming us as we were driving away. What a nightmare...one of the worst hotel experiences of my life! read more

Don't let the outside fool you. The person checking me in was friendly and quick. On the outside, the place does need painting however the room was nicer than I expected. Newer laminate flooring and furniture. Bed was very comfortable with 4 nice pillows on each bed. Price was great for what I wad given. If I want better I would pay more than double what I did. I got the 2nd floor and you can see the water from there. Shower head was amazing! Felt like a massage. The room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. There is coffee and tea in the lobby too. Outside doesn't look like much but all the rooms where spacious and nice and clean. Only down side was they didn't have continental breakfast. What a disappointment this stay was. Several years ago we stayed here and was quite pleased, however it fell quite short of pleasant on this visit, and we will never stay here again. Our room was supposedly remodeled in 2019, the only thing I saw remodeled was the tv, floor, bathroom toilet, shower tile on floor, and walls of shower, as well as shower fixtures. The furniture was was well worn, one drawer would not stay closed no matter how many times you would put it in place. A desk lamp had cracks in it, there was also a hole in the back the bathroom door. I believe they mopped the floor with an old mop with bleach which reeked. The ice machine was out of order. You think they could have provided some ice from bags purchased at a local store. The worse part was the clientele our neighbor next door fought incessantly and loudly with obscenities' with one another until all hours of the night. I think they were long time residents. I would definitely not recommend this motel. read more

My sister and I were looking for a cheap place to spend the night before catching the ferry early the next morning, and we wound up here after finding the manager's special on their website. We were totally happy with the Anacortes Inn. My sister did joke that the decor hadn't been updated since we were in grade school, but the rooms were clean and spacious. So just to start lets be clear, this is a motel in a small beachside town, if your looking for a Spa Experience this isn't the place. Having said that it's perfectly serviceable as a base of operations in Anacortes. Rooms apparently were recently redone and had new appliances, carpet ect. The pool isn't anything special but the manager made sure to tell me that it's now heated which is a plus (Northern WA weather usually stays fairly cool). The Inn is a little more expensive than you might expect for a motel but it's one of the more affordable options in Anacortes. Staff was friendly and eager to recommend local places to eat. One small downside isn't very well lit at night. Anacortes (and WA in general) is a fairly low crime area so this might not come up for most people but I could see it being a little creepy for some folks after dark. read more

We checked in at 11:30 pm, just for a quick rest before heading to the Ferry Terminal at 6am. The INCREDIBLY nice and kind gentleman that checked us in had coffee and breakfast set up an hour early to accommodate us. Reservations were made on Hotel.com with a high rating at $89.00 a night. When we arrived we were told that they didn't have our reservation, but they had a room for $199.00 a night. We said "no" and the price changed to $99.00. The room was dirty and run down. The baseboard heater didn't have a control knob, the bottom of the bathtub was black. The bed had hair on the sheets and the sheets were old and piled. The bed spreads, blankets, and furniture were so old, seen better stuff at Goodwill. The corners of the bathroom floor haven't been cleaned in ages.They gave someone else the same room and a man entered our room with a key. Worn and old is one thing, but no excuse for being dirty. I have stayed here for three years while working at Trawler Fest in May. My rooms have always been large and clean. Decor is dated but the free continental breakfast in the morning has been getting better year by year. Nice staff, free WiFi also help when you are spending three or four days at a place. I give this hotel 5 stars. Not because it is 5 star accommodations, it isn't. But at 10:30pm and you only need a place to sleep this place is exceptional. We needed to catch the 5 am Ferry to San Juan Island, we were unaware of the reservations system and our original intent was to get up early and get in line for the 9 am ferry, knowing that it would be busy since it was a Saturday. Well we were told to look at the reservations system, all the boats were full! so 5 am it is. Other hotels in the area were 100 plus a night, and there was very little availability because it was Valentines Weekend/ and President's day, so long weekend for some. We had seen the Anacortes Inn on the way into town, went back there, and were greeted by 2 of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. They got us checked in at the best possible rate. Checking the special vs AAA etc. The room was very clean, and the beds were VERY comfortable. It may be because the sheets are old, but they were so soft. yes we were tired, but not that tired LOL. We were both very stressed about the short time we had to sleep, and so sleep was difficult to come by, but this was no fault of the bed or the hotel. I have some serious back issues, and my back did not hurt at all. It was delightful, I would have loved the opportunity to spend a little more time in the bed. At check in I asked if they had rapid check out: leave the key in the room and go. They said that was fine, but they did appreciate it when guests let them know that they are leaving so they can make their clean up schedule. I popped into the office - which was locked for after hours - and let them know I was leaving. The lady was delightful considering it was 4:10 am, and offered me coffee or juice to see me on my way. I declined, but appreciated the offer. Spending $79 to sleep for 4 hours is way easier to swallow than 149.00. The drive to the ferry is about 12 minutes, if you catch the light. All in all I would absolutely recommend this hotel to the weary traveler who doesn't want to pay arm n leg just to sleep. Also, there is shampoo and lotion in the hotel (not always found at this price level) coffee pot in the room, microwave and flat screen tv, and alarm clock. It is an older hotel, so outlets aren't readily visible accept by the mirror near the bathroom, which is inconvenient when you are used to having your phone close and using it as a back up alarm, we just moved the night stand and unplugged the light. Oh, and they have free Wi-Fi, signal was good and reliable. read more

I booked three rooms recently for myself and some family members. Rooms were OK but we were surprised the next morning when they did not have any sort of breakfast available. We expected this much, given that most such establishments in Anacortes do serve breakfast, and having seen pictures of their sign on the internet indicating that breakfast would be served. I was also accused of trying to sneak my dog into the hotel (didn't happen) and billed $100 for it. We missed the last ferry, so we needed a cheap hotel, fast. This place was awesome. The hotel is open all night, cheap, and dogs are only $10 more. It is decorated like a hotel in a horror movie, and it has a HUGE park for the kids right past the parking lot. The breakfast in the morning was pretty gross. There was some yogurt, but the prepackaged hard-boiled eggs, and pastries were too...well, I just would rather be hungry than eat that. Luckily there is a donut shop right down the street and a coffee shop, too. It has a swimming pool, which is too cool! My only complaint, and the reason I didn't tip the housekeepers as much as I normally would tip a housekeeper, ALL THE DRAINS WERE CLOGGED. Washing our hands in the sink, it clogged up immediately. Later I showered and my husband freaked out cause all my hair was swimming around the top of a pond of shampoo swill. It was pretty gross. But, we had been camping, so I was really dirty...and the drain was already clogged up. read more
