I wish I could give zero stars. My experience at Ana's on Friday, 11/7 was nothing short of a nightmare, and I will never step foot in this establishment again -- nor will I recommend it to anyone I know. I walked in without a reservation, just hoping for a brief conversation to see if they could assist with my $5,000 dress. I wasn't trying to waste anyone's time, just hoping to figure out if they could handle the type of work I needed. The moment I entered, I was instructed to "check in," which I did promptly. Then I sat there -- for an entire hour -- watching three women being helped while I was completely ignored. I made it clear on the check-in form that I wasn't there for an appointment, just a quick consultation. Still, no one bothered to acknowledge me. It became increasingly frustrating as I watched the staff serve others, while I, a new, possible paying customer with a high-end dress in hand, was treated as if I was invisible. The final straw came when I saw the check-in sheet -- the very one I'd written my name on -- being thrown away and replaced with a fresh sheet. At that point, I realized I was nothing more than an afterthought to them. I left with my dress in hand, seething with anger and disappointment. I will NEVER give Ana's Pro Gowns my business again. Their unprofessionalism and complete lack of courtesy is appalling, and frankly, I'm stunned by the level of disregard they have for potential clients. If you value your time, your investment, and being treated with even a modicum of respect, do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

I was referred to this shop because it was the "preferred" shop of the boutique I purchased my dress. I should of went ahead and brought it somewhere else bc from the beginning there were red flags.. obviously my appts weren't too important enough to show up on time. She was late to both fittings and charged me for revisions she didn't actually complete. She was supposed to cut a slit/split in my dress and didn't actually cut the slit in my dress lining which defeated the purpose of paying $100+ for that service. The top of my dress was primarily lace and beads and once received, I noticed a few of the beads were coming a loose, and even though measurements were taken and my dress was pinned all over the dress during alterations....still the top of the dress and bra cups were too big. Thank God I was able to conceal/tuck it on my wedding day bc I was already out of $538, truly grateful that the boutique gave me a decent discount on alterations, but definitely not pleased with the work of this shop and wouldn't recommend it to another person, especially a bride. read more

Came here with the bride to be for one of her many fittings before her upcoming wedding. Ana is the owner and the seamstress. We arrived on time, however, she was running behind. The clients before us went about 20 minutes over. Not an issue because it gave us time to visit! Not sure if this is something that happens often. Ana does great work. My friend is beautiful and the dress, veil, and additional add-ons will make my friends dress an original! I love supporting wonderful women business owners! This is certainly one of those great local businesses that all brides should frequent to make their special day the best one ever! I was only an on-looker and I was impressed by her work! I have gone to multiple fittings for my own girls in the last year (both are married now.) If I had my kids weddings to do over I would come here. Only downside is she's so busy. How she gets it all done is amazing! read more

I ordered my dress back in January and it's a month from my daughters event and she still don't have her dress. Customer service is terrible. You can never get a hold of anyone or if you do they don't have an idea when your dress will be shipped or be ready I purchased the address for my daughter at the location in San Antonio. I I show up one day to ask about my daughters dress since they were not answering only to know that the store was been close. I got a hold of the people at Lewisville only to not never know when the dress will be shipped don't expect them to call you because they won't. You have to be on them. That means calling up to 5 to 10 times a day just to get a hold of somebody and then put you in hold for 10 minutes before they can even assist you it's very sad because they treat you like you didn't spend nothing on that dress. I thought my bridesmaid dress was a lost cause. I ordered it online and followed the measurements. Come to find out when it arrived, I had measured wrong. I made the mistake of measuring for the chest underneath, as you would for a bra, not over the fullest part and I believe it was made a bit too small to begin with. There was about 5 inches that needed to be let out. It also needed to hemmed a lot and let out just a bit all through just to make it more comfortable. I knew that part wasn't that big of a deal. It was the chest that was the major problem. I thought it was hopeless. But, I found Ana's on here and after reading the reviews, I sent her a message which she replied to within hours explaining the situation and she assured me there was something they could do and to make an appointment. I did, and two fittings later the dress fit like it was made for me. I was stunned when it zipped right up. I went from something that I was so worried about. It was sure I would have to order a new one and pray the fabric was the same color to complete disbelief that it fit perfectly. Her and her team are really miracle workers. I am beyond happy with what they did for me. As for price, I had never had to get any of this done before but to me it seemed totally reasonable. Like most of my friends and followers on Yelp know, sometimes I review a bit later after my experience because I'm on a time crunch or because I wait to go based of multiple experiences. Ana's Professional Gown Alterations is nothing short but 5 stars and I cannot thank Ana enough for making my dress perfect for my wedding!! My husband was in awe by the before and after pictures of my dress. Throughout my wedding dress I could not believe I never ONCE adjusted my dress. I was described by my guests that I looked like " I floated down the aisle" because my dress was just perfect length when I walked. I danced all night and jumped and again, nothing moved. I didn't need any spanx or special bras for my dress either like some other shops wrongly recommended. On top of everything else, Ana and her team make you feel comfortable with your budget. She was never pushy with unnecessary charges or alterations. I felt like I was with a loving aunt or friend during my entire process. She told me something so beautiful that I will always remember at my last fitting after I said a comment about my dress being so much- she said "remember that YOU make the dress. The dress does not MAKE you". I also hired her for day of dressing service and it took SO MUCH STRESS OFF MY FAMILY'S shoulders!! I was at complete peace of mind by having her steam by dress at the church and help me dress me! Thank you Ana for your flawless work and professionalism. Ana is amazing! I live in Austin, but my wedding was in Dallas. She originally only worked on my reception dress, but my alterations lady in Austin completely ruined my Wedding gown. I panicked and called Ana Thursday before my wedding. She squeezed me in and completely changed my dress to a sweetheart neckline, so i would fell more comfortable (the other lady messed up the sleeves). I made an appointment for 1pm and waited with my mother and friend for 50 minutes when I got there to be seen. After they saw me it took them 10 min to look at the dress and they gave me an $800 estimate for neckline, taking in the dress, length and the bustle. Anywhere else is $450-500. The least they could've done is told me how pricey they are if they were going to make me wait so long! read more

One of my family members organized a somewhat unstructured/informal Catholic wedding. Since I was a participant in the wedding, I needed a dress for the ceremony. However, instead of being given a set of matching dresses, or a definitive color, I was given a color scheme (yellow, beige, cream), and then shown the already purchased flower girl dress. Further, I was only informed of this information 2 weeks before the big day. I searched high & low for a dress that would work for the occasion. I am only 5'2, have a size 8 waist, & am cursed with DD/DDD bra size. As one might have already assumed, it is not easy for me to find clothing that fits me, especially not in a moments notice, and even more so with these design/color requirements. Well, I found one! Kind of... It matched, it fit my hips, waist, & the typical 34" around my bust. It did not however have the room for my breast cup size. The dress had sequins and an intricate fabric on the top portion. I had no idea that it could really have been let out as much as it was by Ana's!! And flawlessly too! The dress fits like a glove now! I turned the dress over to them on a Saturday and only a few days later, on Tuesday, it was ready. :) I paid only $48 to gave my dilemma solved for me professionally & promptly. read more

My daughter had to have her prom dress altered significantly and Ana did a wonderful job. She resized the bodice, added support so that the strapless dress could be worn without a bra, resewed many many gemstones back onto the dress, resewed the zipper back in and had to cut and hem the full skirt. The dress fit my daughter perfectly! All of this was done for about $100 which, for the amount of work involved, was dirt cheap!! read more

Very disappointed with quality of work done and cost. Dress was taken in since strapless top was too big. When the dress was worn at wedding the top was too big in middle and I had a gap between chest and waist. It looked like it wasn't taken in properly and showed in pictures. Luckily, it was not too big on top! Hem at bottom of wedding dress was uneven on multiple layers. The cut line were uneven. I could see uneven scissor cuts. Hem where dress was sewn was sloppy. Pleats should have been ironed before hemmed. The result was the layer looked out of shape and did not hang properly. Dress was returned with holes in tulle layer that were not there before. I examined the dress as I was steaming it the night before the wedding when I found the holes. I had examined the dress before it was dropped off at Ana's and didn't see any holes before. In addition, on the wedding day I was embarrassed by my professional wedding photographers when they asked where is the dress holder (loop ribbon or string) to hold your dress up when you walk. They also mentioned the dress was hemmed too long and didn't look right. I was puzzled they said that since I wore my wedding shoes to the hem appointment. Also I had asked Ana should I be concerned about the dress hanging on the floor. She said don't worry, it's fine. I trusted her experience. Finally, I did not have a train style dress and was charged for a bustle. Cost was over $300 for hemming multiple layers at bottom of dress, taking in top and adding cups for built in bra. I was recommended to Ana's by friends but I am very disappointed with the quality of work that comes from a 20+year wedding dress alterations professional! Be careful if you decide to use this vendor. I would not recommend this vendor to anyone who wants a quality job done on their wedding dress. I felt like I was taken advantage of and did not get the quality of service others have ranted and raved about. read more

Where to begin with Ana!? She's absolutely amazing! She exceeded my expectations. I bought my gown on an impulse and hated it once it arrived. I took it to several seamstress in the area and received outrageous quotes; Not only was her pricing reasonable, she was very meticulous about the work that was done. I was so comfortable working with her, we took my mothers dress as well as my husbands suit to her for alterations. Every once in a while you come across an experience that reinforces your belief in the goodness of mankind. I had that experience with Ana's Professional Alterations. Ana is an artist not a tailor. She goes above and beyond the call of duty. As a part of an upcoming Mardi Gras event I purchased several gowns and suits all of which required alterations. But she took the time to understand every event and offered ideas on ways that I could improve my overall look. She even spent her own time to find special fabric, jewels and flowers to complete my outfits. I am grateful to her and her team for setting me up for success. *Please note I am only adding a star as it will not allow a '0' star rating* I met with Ana, at her shop, on 4/10/2012. We discussed the alterations needed for my wedding dress. My wedding date is 5.19.2012, so we had a little more than 1 month to complete the alterations we discussed. She agreed that it could be done and on that day, we set an appointment for 5.1.2012 at noon, for me to come and pick up the dress. She gave me an appointment card, that she filled out with the follow up date. She also attached a work ticket to the dress listing the alterations and the 5.1.2012 appointment date. I paid for the alterations on that day in full. When I came in on 5.1.2012, she had no record of my appointment, she was not expecting me at all. I showed her the appointment card she gave me, displaying, in her writing, that we made an appointment for this day/time. Barely apologetic, she said, "ok, well come back at 6:30 this evening, we can try on what we have done so far. And, I promise the dress will be completed by Thursday May 3rd. So I accepted that appointments can be misplaced, and that we had another plan in action. At this point, I am hoping for the best, as I am 18 days out from my wedding day! I returned the same day to her shop at 6:25 PM. She came out and said, "Im not ready for you, I thought I told you 7:00pm..." At this point I became furious. It was apparent that she could care less about the services she committed to, for my WEDDING DRESS. I demanded my money and my dress back immediately. When I looked at the dress, she had done NOTHING. The dress was still pinned the in same way as when I first visited on 4/10/2012, she had made no progress at all. I would say stay away from this shop. Perhaps it was just a one time thing, but to trust someone, who claims to be a professional, with something as special, and important as your wedding dress, I would NEVER recommend Ana's Professional Gown Alterations." read more

Do not get your wedding dress altered here. We took my fiancés dress here in March for a end of May wedding. They have had multiple opportunities to make a simple alteration and have been unsuccessful. Their alteration has left bulges and bumps in my fiances skirt. We now have a week until our wedding and are scrambling to find someone who can repair their mistakes in time for the wedding. Customer service is also lacking. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more
