I've been going here for years. Litza, the owner understands how to cut curly hair and she trains her staff so they also cut hair correctly. Her prices are compatible with other salons. She has a wide product line for all types of hair included dyed, or thinning, straight or curly. The staff has a small percentage of turn overs so your stylist doesn't just disappear one day. Litza keeps up with the latest styles and yet they can still braid your hair and they still do perms. She has staff the specializes in coloring. I just love this place read more

I have been here twice, both times I saw Nayeli. She is super friendly and does AMAZING work. I have finally found a salon I'm not nervous to walk into and hope I get what I want. The rest of the staff is super friendly and welcoming as well. This is also the first salon I have seen the owner actually teaching and showing newer stylists tips and tricks instead of pulling them off to the side and telling them what they did wrong. I have gone to this hair salon for years and I have never been unhappy with my hair. I went to Mareya for a full platinum highlight and showed her a photo of a cool blonde balayage. I was so disappointed when I looked in the mirror and could not find a single highlight and my hair looked like my natural hair color but worse. It is orangey and so dark and I can honestly say they have lost me as a loyal customer. I went back to the salon to have them fix it and they stripped my hair with a damaging treatment and now my hair is fried and brown. I was so disappointed that they even offered to tone me again for a charge even though the "highlights" costed $218 dollars. I even paid $35 for a haircut afterwords and they refused to offer me a refund of any kind. I have to go in to get it fixed by another hairstylist but I will never be returning to Anasa. Litsa told me I was "pretty bright" and said I would have to pay for another treatment. read more

Whatever your vision is, Christina makes it happen. Anasa will always be my go to salon. The environment is so welcoming & the owner is absolutely amazing. My mother has been going to this salon for years and now that I moved back to Illinois I go here as well and I am so happy with how Abby did my hair! I love this Salon. Kandace is excellent! She does good consultations and is thoughtful about her recommendations. She spends as much time as needed to get my hair to look just the way I want and does processes individually instead of all at once, to make sure I get the color I want. She's the best stylist I've encountered in years. The facilities are good here and there is parking at the side of the building. When I called to schedule my appointment the person I spoke with went out of her way to make my last minute appointment happen on a Saturday. My stylist was Mariah & I highly recommend her. I was recommended to come here from a friend of mine, it was honestly amazing. I came with my little sister whose 12 and Christina not only gave her an amazing cut, but showed her how she could style her hair type. My sister kept saying how she felt beautiful after and was really excited to try what Christina showed her how to do at home. I had my appointment with Tiana who I absolutely adore. I had gotten a really bad haircut that was choppy and uneven. She was able to blend my hair really nice as well as give me a really amazing clean cut. I LOVE my haircut. My husband just started going to her as well, and is so happy. Heidi is a blonde magician. After trying countless hair stylists over the years and never being fully satisfied (streaky highlights, too blended of highlights, dull toners) I tried Heidi at Anasa. I will never go to another stylist for my hair again. Heidi listened to my requests and gave me the most beautiful, perfect highlights that I always wanted. Recently, I decided to try to save some money and dye my roots with a box color (even though I know better than to do this). HORRIBLE idea. My roots turned orange and left orange and brown patches throughout my blonde hair. I got it "fixed" at a salon on my college campus, but came to Heidi a couple months after for a regular highlight. She went above and beyond and fixed my horrific roots, the left over orange and brown colored patches throughout my hair, gave me beautiful highlights and a haircut. I thought that my hair was practically un-fixable because it was just that bad. But she was determined to make it look beautiful again, and she did! Heidi spent almost 4 hours on my hair (2 hours more than what it normally takes for my appointments) and made me feel amazing after (I almost cried of happiness). Not to mention, she is friendly as can be. In addition, I love Anasa's staff and the atmosphere as well. It's cute, clean, small, and friendly. Been a loyal customer to this place for over a year. What do they do today? They mislead me about an appointment with the girl I usually go to (Tiana - the best). They told me I'm with her when I originally called, but put me with someone new when I come in and said Tiana doesn't work on Thursdays. Ok, so you couldn't tell me that the week before when I called in? Anyway, I had nothing against this person, I just like loyalties and sticking with who I know. I would've left right then and there but I had absolutely no other time to reschedule within the foreseeable future and was kind of SOL. So I stayed. Service wasn't bad - I have nothing against the girl, she was professional. However, it took three hours. I had a (bleach) root touch up and toner. That never takes me more than two hours (on a slow day). Fine, I could live with that because I didn't really have major plans today. Color came out good enough so I couldn't really complain. It's at the end when they really got me. Apparently this past year - and then some - I've been charged $67 for service and product, but apparently today - and going forward - I had to be charged $93 for service and color because apparently my hair is really thick all of a sudden and they use double the product on me (so extra bleach and extra toner)... EXUSE ME???? My stylist went to re-mix bleach ONCE and she ended up throwing half of it away, and never went back to re-mix anything when she did my toner. That was some different type of BS. They're on another level. And on TOP of that, the manager/owner didn't blink when I asked that they honor my rate since they didn't make me aware before the service. Instead, she just kept repeating that they use more product on me and that if I go anywhere else it's a similar price. Lady, if you need money or want to up your pricing you can just call your customers and make them aware. Or at least have the decency to let them know before they agree to proceed with the service. You don't need to swindle them after it's all said and done. I'm sorry but if your $26 up charge this time was worth losing a regular and valued customer paying a regular amount of $67, then your values as a salon are questionable. Also beware of their haircuts. My sister came here twice and both times the girls didn't know units of measurement - when my sister asked for half an inch they cut off two inches. She cried. You've been fairly warned. I hope your experience is better. read more

I retract my previous review! I'm not a crier. In fact, I believe that crying after a bad haircut is rather silly after all, hair will grow back. However, having just come home from a visit to Anasa Salon and a haircut by Christina, I am sitting here in tears. Christina chopped my hair after I had told her more than once that I was growing it out. My thick, curly hair was in desperate need of a cut as it was getting bushy around the sides of my face. Christina had always done a nice job so I was thrilled that she had an opening still this morning. When I arrived, she sat me down and we talked about what I wanted to do with my wild mane. I stated that I wanted to grow it out, "I really miss it long" but that I wanted to de-pouf the sides and shape it up. "Great," she said. "I'll just take a half inch off, is that OK?" Yep, that would be perfect! She mentioned putting in some more layers. OK by me too. I noticed that the sections of hair that she was cutting were longer than a half inch yet she stated that she was shaping it up and giving me layers. "OK .... " Still wet, it looked short and I commented on the length. "You wanted more layers, right?" I again said that I wanted to grow it longer. After she put product in my hair and defused it, I looked in the mirror at a frizzy, curly, brown ball of cotton candy on top of my head and the tears welled up in my eyes. "Christina, what did you do? This is so short!" She tried to pull on it to make it appear longer but of course, this did not work. I was furious. She stated that she would not charge me for the cut if I wasn't happy and I said that I just wanted to get out of there, go home, take a shower and try to style it myself. Having just done that, I can tell you that it isn't much better. I had my photo taken yesterday and just took a selfie of myself today and she cut at least two inches of my hair and there are WAY too many layers! I hate it - HATE IT! Here's to the next year that will be spent growing it back to where it was and seeking out another stylist to keep it looking nice. If you have thick, curly hair and want to keep it on the long side, I would NOT recommend going to Christina at Anasa Salon. read more

I've come to Anasa for formal hair do's and haircuts and always left really pleased. However, when I decided to try to color my hair I was a little nervous. I have extremely dark, practically black, hair and I wanted to lighten up but the last time I got highlights it was a disaster that I literally just finished growing out. However, I trust Anasa and the great reviews convinced me to give it a shot. I couldn't be happier with my color. Tiana (?) listened to everything I had to say, talked to me about everything she was going to do, and encouraged me to be honest and tell her if there was anything I wanted to change. I started out coming here to see Izzy, their esthetician, for waxing services. I was seeing her regularly, every two weeks between March 2015 and June-ish 2015 and then she just up and left - the strangest thing. It was a bit unprofessional, and she had advertised she was leaving and was offering half off facials for the last few weeks she was there, and I had one scheduled, and got a call the day or two before from the receptionist letting me know that it would need to be canceled - it sounded like Izzy left very abruptly... Anyway, no longer too upset about that - not the salon's fault, and now, I have found an even better esthetician who I love, not too far from Anasa - check out Lamaris for waxing needs! I have been getting my hair cut by Michelle for the past two years - I don't go in as often as I should so that only amounts to about 4-5 times. All of the times, I have been very happy with my hair. I'm simple - I don't like anything too intense, usually I go in for a trim. This last time I saw her, a few weeks ago, I was feeling bold and after talking to her and showing her some Pinterest photos, decided to try out an angled long bob. She created exactly what I was envisioning - it was perfect. I was so happy with it, I could not stop smiling. It is continuing to grow out well, and I will continue to go see Michelle at Anasa Salon for my hair cuts! In general, the price is a nice mid range, and worth the quality, I like the atmosphere a lot - sometimes "fancier" salons can feel a little stuffy or the people can have an "air" to them - I never get that vibe here. Parking is minimal, but I have never not been able to find a spot in the alley right next to them. read more

I had my first hair cut at Anasa Salon with Stephanie last winter. Stephanie completely butchered my layers. I have pretty thin hair and with the layers she did, my hair looked even thinner and tail-like in the back. I had to come in and get it fixed by Christina who did a good job considering the amount of damage that had been done. When I called to make my appointment earlier this month, I was glad to know Stephanie was no longer employed at Anasa. This time around I was scheduled with Alyssa. I thought she did a good job taking off a few inches to give me a full perimeter. I also got some full bangs and for the most part they were good. When I got home I noticed a bit of unevenness so I went over to Mario Tricocci to get them fixed. Overall I was satisfied with Alyssa. I call in a couple days later to schedule an appointment for my sister in law with Alyssa and I was informed she is no longer employed with the salon. So I'm not sure what is up with the turnover/retention rate. I would have gone back to Alyssa had she still been there. For the price range I am looking for, I feel like ill always have to experiment with someone new. Anasa has this great promotion where if you refer a friend, you and the friend get $20 off a service so I brought my friend in and we paid $3 each for our haircuts - wash and cut! (With Stephanie) That was awesome! Overall Anasa is a very cute salon, a bit out of my way but worth the drive with the promo they have if you get a good hairdresser. I noticed the clientele is on the older side (or today they were) but it doesn't bother me as the stylists are modern and young themselves. The only downside is parking. Anasa doesn't have a lot so I recommend the staff let clients know that they can park across the street at the Walgreens as my friend and I weren't sure where to park since parking on the side street was full. I hope to find my permanent hair dresser the next time I'm there! read more

I went to Anasa because of the reviews on yelp. I was looking for a reasonably priced hair cut place and I like this one. I had Christina cut my hair. I was not sure what I wanted to get but I knew I wanted choppy layers and shorter hair. Christina knew just what to do and I love my new hair cut. I told her about how I am bad at blow-drying my own hair and she taught me how to do it right. :) I was happy with the volume and she also taught me about the kinds of products I might like to try to keep up with my style. I never know what I want done to my hair whether it is cut or color but I always leave happier than the last time. Heidi takes her time listening to what I want out of each visit and she never disappoints! I always look forward to my appointment because I know I'm going to leave feeling gorgeous. Got my hair color fixed by Jessica. She did a great job listening my wants and needs. I am so happy with my hair color now. Before it was a brassy almost orange brown color and she listened to me when I said I wanted a more ash brown color but to keep some of my blonde highlights. She was also so sweet and nice that I felt comfortable enough to share all my frustrations with my current color. Love love love my new color! I gave a 4 star bc the blow dry wasn't anything great and my hair had a lot of volume which was great but it was kinda hard and not put together so it was kinda ehh to pay for that service. But I will def be back to see Jessica! Maybe next time I'll ask her to straighten my hair instead. read more
