I have struggled to find someone to do my color that can do brown hair with blonde highlights. You would think that would be easy to do--but it has been a challenge. Mira did a perfect job--she was able to color correct all the orange and brassy tones from previous salons. My hair looks amazing and frankly hasn't looked this good in years. Although I love getting my hair cut in Chinatown, the drive isn't all that fun and I wanted to try some place new. I found Victoria's Beauty Boulevard on YELP and how could I not try something with my name on it?! I booked an appointment right away with Mira (pronounced like miracle) and she is amazing! Mira, the owner of this place, has been cutting hair for a long time and even used to own her own hair salon in Europe! She did a precise layered cut based on pictures I showed on my phone and she curled my hair using a flat iron. My hair has never been this curly and bouncy in my life! What's even more surprising is that she didn't use that much product and my hair does not feel weighed down at all! Her salon is super spacious and she even has a cute little area for children's hair cuts- kids can watch cartoons on a HELLO KITTY chair while getting their hair cut! umm yeahh! I wish I was 5 again haha. (And they do have a boy chair, too- not that boys can't like Hello Kitty or anything because they totally should lol) Mira also does nails and waxing as well. (Best to make an appointment for fancy nails). There are other hairstylists as well and they seemed really nice and welcoming. All the products that she used are high-end salon products and you can tell that Mira really put a lot of heart into the details of this place. After reading the several positive reviews about Mira I made an appointment and she was able to work with my availability. I quickly told her what I wanted and she advised me what would and wouldn't work. I usually trust stylist experience over my own desires so I listened to her and went for what she said. I left extremely happy and from the before and after pictures you can tell my hair needed a lot of help. Also, her prices are extremely reasonable. My friend advised me to be prepared to spend a good amount which I've never done but I really needed to treat myself since my hair was damaged I figured why not. Well, Mira was very reasonable with her prices so I was extremely happy with that as well. The salon is up to date, clean, and plenty of light and space. Free street parking and easy to find. I've been going to Mira for my cut and color needs since early 2016, and I love the affordability, Mira's color skills, and that she is really flexible. I've recommended friends who also love her as well. When my husband planned our engagement, he contacted Mira and coordinated me getting my hair styled for the photos. She was so excited to be a part of our engagement, and I was so happy with the hair (too bad it was drizzling and my hairspray released). I came here a couple weeks ago to get a shampoo and blow dry. I called ahead and she said to come at 10 so I said sure. Got there right at 10 and I had to sit and wait for a while, which is perfectly fine to me, I am also in the beauty industry and I understand it takes a while sometimes. I almost never give any establishment reviews under 5 stars because I am very easy going and don't sweat the small stuff but the way she made me feel that day I still cannot shake it. Not sure what the owner was expecting but when I came in and she saw the length in my hair I can already feel the attitude change. She made small talk with me in the chair but I noticed that she had another customer sitting there waiting for her color to be we finished (maybe that's why she was so upset to squeeze me in) and when we went to check out she did a long, annoyed sigh and said $25. I saw the menu and usually a blow dry is $15 but I'm assuming my hair was long so it was extra which is fine. I'm giving this place 2 stars because of how she was when we were checking out, if this lady was just an employee I wouldn't mind as much, but the attitude coming from the owner threw me off. I wouldn't have even minded paying $45 or $55 dollars, I don't care, I understand my hair is long and thick and it takes a lot of work. Instead of sighing and making me feel terrible for having to work on my hair, just charge me extra and call it a day. So I randomly came into this place two weeks ago. It doesn't look like much from the outside but once I walked in, it's beautiful. I got a simple haircut. Amazing. I decided I would come back to try a partial highlight ombré and get my hair waved for a wedding. I was more than happy with what I got for my money. Mira uses only top shelf hair products and color. Lincoln Park, Logan Square, Gold Coast, Ravenswood....this salon in Norwood Park by far surpasses my expectations and beats all the previous salons I've been to. Mira is a guru at what she does. She uses high end salon products and knows exactly what suits you and what you're trying to achieve. She ended up curling my hair and my hair held up the entire night, and even the day after..... Recently had a facial done by Deanna. She did an excellent job and is very knowledgeable about skin. Previously, I went to Elizabeth Arden for facials so I know what a good facial is. I got a facial by Deanna and OH MY GOSH! I struggle with bad acne and scarring but the day after her facial my face was so smooth and glowing! My makeup went on so smooth and my skin looked amazing. Not only did she do an amazing facial BUT she also recommended products for my face routine. She recommended a face wash, face scrub and moisturizer that work beautifully with my skin! Both of my girls (tween and child), husband, and I go here. Meersa is our stylist and we love her, but the other people are also fun and do great work-just like a hip salon, with all the top trends. This is a laid back, quiet, neighborhood place, but very big-it is clean, nice vibe, nice prices and chillaxed. The more I style my hair every day, the more I realize what a terrible cut I received. It is so chopped up. She cut it way too short in the back and it just flips up. I have to say it is the worst cut I ever had. I also didn't care for her child running around the salon and her reprimanding them. Sorry, not a fan.
