just love the entire staff here.. always treat us and our dog well in addition ... they saved our dear friends dogs life after it was attacked by a much larger dog quick service... fair no surprises recommend

So our dog started having back issues. We brought him into here as they were our current vet. They took him back for xrays immediately, then the vet called us back to look at them and told us he had calcification of the disks and that it was pinching a nerve in his spine. He told us we should cut whatever we're feeding him in half and that "if we starved our dog until his bones were popping out he'd live forever." They prescribed him some steroids and a ridiculous amount of muscle relaxers. The vet was in a hurry and didn't really explain much like what any of the meds were fod or if we should be resting our dog or exercising him since now we have to "starve" him. They gave him a shot of steroids at the office and then we paid the near $300 bill and left. So a couple days pass and I am giving my dog the 8 horse pills a day of muscle relaxers they prescribed and he is so drowsy he doesn't move and when he does he is completely dragging his hind quarters across the ground. I freaked out and called the vet. I voiced my concerns and asked if I could lower the amount of meds he was given the tech who answered told me that the muscle relaxers shouldn't do that at all. I asked if the vet was there and what our dog even had and if I should be resting him or not. She supposedly went and spoke to the vet and called me back to say he has IVDD and that I'm welcome to cut the muscle relaxers if I want but that THEY don't think it was that causing him to not move. She says "if the steroids aren't helping him within the first couple days then they aren't going to help him at all" and that "his condition is just progressing that fast and I'm sorry there's nothing we can do, you'll probably have to bring him in to put him down within the month" So the first red flag was the vet telling us to starve our baby, then not giving us any info at all. The last straw however was being told over the phone that we should just bring the dog in to put him down. Obviously I didn't listen to them. I took the dog off the muscle relaxers and he was able to walk again, we went to a different vet and they were flabbergasted about how the anchor bay vet treated us. Never go here, they don't care about you or your animals, just a quick paycheck. Edit: Oh not to mention they refused to give our records or xrays to our new vet saying we didn't exist in their records. Thankfully we went in to get the print outs for all our pets.

Dr Zaffer was the first Dr to find these bladder stones in my dog.

That was perfectly fine with me but 30 minutes later I was still sitting in my car and when I asked them again, they said we're running a little behind and when we're ready, will call you just sit in your car. THE VETERINARIAN THAT BUILT THIS PRACTICE RETIRED AND SOLD IT TO SOMEONE THAT TURNED IT INTO A MONEY GRAB!!! EXPLANATION BELOW: The previous doctor that built the reputation of this clinic with a love for animals and good customer service has retired and sold it to someone who does not care about animals whatsoever, he is strictly in it for the money. He charged me almost $900 to diagnose an infection. He told me that my cat's liver had an infection and was 3 times it's normal size, putting pressure on her stomach and that's why she would not eat. I'm not a doctor but that did not make much sense to me at the time, how an infection could affect a liver in any animal so dramatically but I had been here before so I trusted him. HUGE MISTAKE!!! My cat stopped eating again and I took her to another vet who charged me $240 to diagnose that she had a fatty liver and a life-threatening liver issue, I can't remember the exact term was. He said had I brought the cat in sooner he could have done something, but now the best thing to do is to put her to sleep. This veterinarian at Pets Ahoy charged almost $900, and KILLED MY CAT. Had I gone to a real veterinarian that cared less about money and more about the animal my cat would have been properly diagnosed at less cost and I would not be setting an appointment right now to put her to sleep. Dr Williams whom built this practice on morals, ethics, and care has retired and sold this practice to a man that wishes to drive a Bentley. He did nothing to build this practice or its reputation, he bought it and I was completely blindsided when he walked into the door for my cats original appointment. Nobody notified me that this practice now belonged to someone else. I was pushed into a corner where my cat was not eating and I was now at a veterinarian that I did not know but knew that she needed help fast. I would have never have gone there had I been notified and given the opportunity to look on the internet and find all the negative reviews of this man. Had I walked out I would have saved hundreds of dollars and my cat's life! I provided a photo of what this doctor did to my cat. Notice how skinny she is, and she is hiding in a corner of my house waiting to die!!!!!! My children are absolutely heartbroken, this animal deserved better.

I found Karen on Yelp and gave her a call. Friendly as can be. She was in for a surprise though when she got to my yard and saw how much my purebred standard poodles poop. You'd think with a pedigree like that, they could be a little more dainty about it! Not so much! I thought lately they were doing a funny little prance in the yard but it was getting more like trying to find a spot to step. Yep, pretty bad! I hated to walk outside and ask how it was going. I was ready to be thoroughly shamed for being a BAD MOM. So bad! But she just laughed and said she wouldn't be able to offer me any discounts after all. She was worried to tell me that. I was worried she'd charge me a premium and put me on Hall of Shame on the 6:00 news. Her rate was more than fair and I was happy to pay it. She even bagged it all up for me and had a friendly chat with me before she left -- no shaming involved. The poodles are being groomed now into their prissy poofs. When they get home, they will be weirded out by their immaculate grass. Hopefully, they did their pooping of the day at the groomers. If anyone can tell me how to get them to quit pooping, I'm all ears. But then I won't have the fun of a visit from Karen again, so I guess pooping is a good thing.

It worked very well, got a quick callback but unfortunately I ended up not needing them.read more
