I brushed my teeth but that was about it. When I was fortunate enough to meet the lady who became my wife I decided to break down and visit her dentist to see how much damage was done. I got lucky on two fronts. One, I hadn't done to much damage. Two, I met my wives former classmate, Dr Ernest Violet. Dr Violet's office is as much of a pleasure to visit as any dentist office can ever hope to be. I like my dentist office to know what an abject coward I am and from the office staff, to the hygienists, to Dr Violet himself they've got my number. I hear they even have a betting pool on whether I will show up for my scheduled appointments. Tricky devils that they are, they started scheduling my whole family together. Curses, foiled again! On a professional front all the bases are covered. They will work with your insurance, handle all the paperwork and still manage to make you feel like you've made friends. Dr Violet is good at all the technical stuff and most importantly hasn't caused me to run out of the office yet. Got my first root canal the other day and it was a pleasure. Alright, not so much. But it wasn't painful. Of course the office staff didn't tell me that's what I was there for. Thanks a lot, ladies. It's been twenty years since I started seeing Dr Violet. I am still married to my lovely wife Jane and I still have all of the teeth that I first brought to the dentist office. Overall, since you have to go to the dentist anyway, why not go to one that makes it as close to fun as it's ever gonna be. I would have given them 5 stars but, IT'S A DENTIST OFFICE! UPDATE: I made the mistake of wearing a "Yankees Choke" shirt to the office on my last visit. This upset the red haired lady as she is a Yankee fan. Before I left the office I'm pretty sure she put a curse on me, causing another tooth to break a couple of weeks later. Whatever you do, DON'T LET THE RED HAIRED LADY KNOW YOU'RE A SOX FAN! She knows tooth voodoo! Or, perhaps, she's kinda sweet on me? Awww shucks.

Dr. Matt was really nice, professional and got right to business. Plenty of parking, really nice location right outside Wickford village, cute building. Nevertheless, some dentists do a better job of earning your trust than others (after all, few of us are qualified to evaluate an x-ray properly). I trusted this dentist for several years, but after a series of increasingly frustrating dental-care spirals, I decided to leave. The worst kind of dental visit is the one where you're going to the dentist so the dentist can fix his own mistakes. What's worse, my patience with the office staff finally wore out. Their no-nonsense approach might be efficient, but inflexibility does not always make for happy customers.

Aquidneck Dental still gets a 5 star rating from me BUT Dr Ruel gets a 0 rating!…read more Disappointing Denture Relining Experience with Dr. Ruel I had a highly unsatisfactory experience with Dr. Ruel at Aquidneck Dental in Portsmouth for a hard relining of my dentures, which cost $1,600. My upper denture was initially comfortable, with only a minor thin spot prompting the relining, but my lower denture was problematic, requiring denture adhesive before meals and still becoming loose during eating. Dr. Ruel, nearing retirement and working only one day a week, scheduled my impressions for the following week, promising a next-day turnaround. However, when I called to confirm post-relining care for potential sore spots, the office assured me Dr. Ruel would be available. Upon dropping off my dentures, he then informed me they would take a week, contradicting his earlier promise. After I reminded him of his initial claim, he made a brief call to the lab and stated they could deliver the next day. I suspect he was reluctant to come in on his day off, leaving me without dentures for longer than expected. When I received my dentures, the upper plate was uncomfortably tight, and the lower plate felt unchanged, as if no work had been done. After pointing this out, Dr. Ruel reduced the charge to $800 and offered an immediate soft relining. Unfortunately, the soft relining was poorly executed: the lower plate had untrimmed excess material and there are sharp edges on the outer teeth, while the upper plate's roof lining felt like sandpaper, causing significant soreness in the roof of my mouth. I had to return multiple times, waiting a week between appointments, to address persistent sore spots and problems. The teeth still feel unpolished and rough. Now, my upper denture requires adhesive to stay in place--unlike before--and moves when chewing tougher foods like steak. The lower denture is so loose that I need to re-apply adhesive multiple times during a single meal. Overall, my dentures are in worse condition than before, and I'm don't think they can be fixed. I strongly advise against seeing Dr. Ruel, who has since relocated to Tiverton. This review pertains solely to Dr. Ruel's service, not the other excellent dentists at Aquidneck Dental in Portsmouth.

Dr Stacey Rogers at Seacoast Dental in North Kingstown is a fabulous dentist! I am a retired…read moredentist who retired nine years ago. I am lucky I chose Dr Rogers for my care and my wife's. I appreciate her gentle manner and understanding. She recently discovered a re infection of an old root canal. Her hygienist noticed a problem and Dr Rogers confirmed and promptly sent me to a specialist for care. She has completed many dental crowns on me and my wife. She has completed exquisite bridgework on each of us. I rate her an "A" quality person and dentist. I send all my friends to her with utmost confidence!

I originally went in on an emergency case basis, and have continued my care from there. Dr. Patil is just wonderful. He and his staff made me feel completely comfortable from the moment I walked in. He explains everything clearly, reviews all treatment options, and provides pain free care. I had two root canals performed by him and never felt any pain at all. He even called me personally the morning after a particularly difficult procedure just to make sure I was feeling well. I have never felt so at ease at the dentists office! Their appointments do book up quickly, but you can always leave a note that you would like to come in earlier for an appointment should one open up (and they actually follow up for you!). The office was just remodeled and is very comfortable.. all treatment rooms are private.

They consistently go above and beyond with their dental care. Doctor Brendan Gouin is just over the top amazing!!! He explains your dental plan precisely and provides informative directive on your care. He makes you feel completely comfortable and is truly a personable soul... and let's not forget about his assistant Jillian. She is the one who preps you before seeing the doctor, does the x-rays, and most importantly puts you at ease... which she has amazing powers to do... especially in stressful situations. Now that's a team!!! There have been numerous emergency procedures over the years, and the staff worked incredible magic to make sure I was seen. Brittney, for one, is a lifesaver. She worked extremely hard in finding me an opening and communicated continually with updates. Every office should have a Brittney!!! I also want to mention my regular dental hygienist Kim S. My gums are extremely sensitive and during cleanings if can be a tough job not to send me to the moon with a wrong move or sharp pain. Her personality is second to none and has an amazing sense of humor... which totally relaxes me and makes me feel comfortable. I live in North Carolina for the most part, but there is no doubt I will continue to travel to Arrowhead Dental for ALL of my dental needs.
